I popped in here over the weekend to get some much needed coffee. We just went up to the window, as is common down in Miami. I ordered a few cortados for me and the family as well as some toasted bread with butter. The service was friendly and fast. Before I knew it, I was knocking back some very strong coffee and tearing through some buttery toasted bread. El Rinconcito is tucked away around the corner in a shopping center, so it is a bit difficult to find, but is well worth it.

Small place few tables but you can also order food to go at the window. It definitely needs a little TLC because it just looks run down. Not the best customer service, a simple hello and thank you would go a long way. Either way, prices and cheap and food is good. They have meals and sandwiches.

Some of the best croqueta in my ara 33175. I think as good or better than Isalas canarias. I don’t remember how much it cost in Islas but they are $ 1 in el reconsito del gordo and they were made on the spot. I also got the pan con bistec for $ 5.50 but its totally worth it. The chicken fingers were cheap $ 7.90 ± .50 and it was delicious. Update — After posting the above i was moved to go back and had the vaca frita and man was it really good super soft meat juicy and fried. It was super delicious best i have ever had. Amazing.

Best Vaca Frita! Ever! Great tasting onions! Seems like he lets the onions sit in mojo for days!!! Also they have very inexpensive cantina!!! Very good Cuban food!

Let me start by saying that this place is just awesome. I stumbled upon this restaurant while I was visiting the area and I am glad I found it. The place doesn’t have the looks and flashes of the modern cuban food chain joints. If you are one of those people who like authentic food this is your place. I ordered the Saturday special — the goat dish — Chilindron De Chivo and the dish tasted just great. I had it with a side of white rice and sweet plantains. The taste, quantity, quality and service was well worth when I say I am considering this as my future go to place for great Cuban food.

Every time i go to this place i feel like this place needs better waitresses. They seem like they drank a glass of lemon juice. Hey a smile goes a long way, it don’t cost a thing. :(

While the taste of the food was very good, and the price was very reasonable there was something about the ambient that kind of made me a little unease about the sanitary conditions. Maybe I am a bit picky when it comes to a place that I will be eating what they cook, but I just had that so so feeling about cleanliness. Otherwise, the food was good and like I said the price was very moderate.

They weren’t kidding when they called this place«rinconcito». Looking for a dinner place with my parents, I like to keep it simple and delicious– they’re not all about the fancy restaurants as they just want good food at a decent price. Walking in there’s only about 8 tables which some to fit two people and some 4 so you can imagine it’s pretty small. They do have an extension area that could be closed off for a private party which is cute… if you’re party is only made of 4 people. The service was very good and as there wasn’t anyone else except a man and his son, I would hope it would be! The cook himself gave us the menu and I truly did feel like they were cooking just for us– even if that place was wasn’t full. The food came out great and it was pretty tasty as well. It’s cheap and the portions were more than enough so I’m not complaining! They also have a mini-cafeteria so if you’re craving any Cuban delights or coffee, this place provides that as well.

Mouth watering Cuban cuisine, anything you order from the menu is going to be the best you’ve ever had. The food here is cooked like it would be by your grandmother back home. And the restaurant itself has a very homey feel, it is family owned so it is expected. Make sure the fat man is cooking(el gordo), you will fall in love with his food. The food here is reasonably cheap too, nothing overpriced and the portions are more than generous, this is another pig out spot you will not want to miss.

Great Cuban food for a good price. I went with my family of 8 and each tried each other’s plate, and I enjoyed everything. First thing I noticed were the portions, which are very big. The service was excellent, we were seated promptly and had a very nice waitress. I would definitely return.
