A friend in school told me about this place and since I am Peruvian I said to myself, I have to try this place! =) So I went and I liked the place, clean and with a nice simple décor. A waiter came to me and handed me the menu. This place’ is more about sandwiches made Peruvian style, so there were many choices, some I had in Lima already and some never heard of. I went for the«Sandwich de pollo» which had another name in their menu but right now I just don’t remember. It consists in shredded chicken breast mix with mayo and placed in between bread, a good one, with lettuce and tomatoes. They have a salsa bar where you can add any other sauces/salsas you want, aji amarillo, mayo, black olive sauce, etc, all good. The waiter suggested if I wanted a side, like fried yucas, I said ok. A little disappointing because I only got 3 small yuquitas and well, if you pay almost $ 3 for a side and soda you could expect a little more. The sandwich was good but not to die for. and the yuquitas were ok. What I liked is that everything is fresh and made right when you ordered it. Their tamales are really good and at a good price too, chicha morada is a bottled one, so I can’t say I like it, I still love my mom’s chicha morada. I feel they should give better portions for what you pay. This restaurant is in Downtown Miami, near 2 big schools so I was assuming they would have a tempting price menu but they didn’t. The staff is nice and they are always there if you need something.

2.5 stars so far. The Lurin sandwich($ 5.95) that consists of fried pork chunk slices with creole sauce & fried sweet potatoes was kind of disappointing mainly because the pork tasted a bit off. The ceviche, I thought, was kinda small for the price(at least when comparing with Ceviche 105’s version nearby). They also ran out of tequeños and papas rellenas when I came here last, and it was relatively early for lunch. This place has potential if they fix a few things — it would be nice to have a good Peruvian sandwich shop in downtown.
