Danny Bakery and Cafe

I have nothing to complain about. Great food and prices. I’m not a fan of the busy parking lot but that’s obviously not their fault. Gotta love a bakery that’s just around the corner. It’s a staple and necessity to live adequately in any part of Miami dade county.

This place has awesome jamon croquetas and the manager knows how sweet to make a café con lex he. Unfortunately, the only staff member who spoke English was the manager. If you’re bilingual, this place does the job for sweet Spanish cravings. I wasn’t super impressed with the breakfast I ordered… eggs weren’t runny like I asked for, but you can’t beat the price for it all either. I’d visit again next time I’m in Miami :)

So it’s been like 5 years since I found Danny’s. And while the moody lady that gave me attitude the first time still works there, she’s just not enough to keep me away!
Their prices are still the same (can you believe that? I can get a full breakfast with a $ 5 bill and still have plenty to tip! Please tip your server, $ 1 won’t kill you), and their food is excellent. The eggs have not changed one bit, they’re still buttery and perfectly seasoned. Dat toast, tho. I have dreams about their tostada. And now, I just know to ask for extra butter (I don’t care if you roll your eyes at me, Counter Lady!). These curves require BUTTAH.
Really, most of the staff is awesome, and quite often, Danny himself will be the one to help you. His customer service is on point, and he’s quick and efficient. So I’m not going to sweat one grumpy server.
I live close to La Carreta, Casavana, a couple Vicky’s Bakery, and a few other Mom & Pop Cuban bakeries. Forget it: I refuse to get my huevos y tostada from anywhere else. I’ll even go to Danny’s before going to La Palma (my Cuban guy just had a heart attack, how dare I diss La Palma!!). To me, Danny’s takes the cake. (Haha).

All the essentials of a Cuban bakery here, and it’s all delicious (especially earlier in the day, when the pastelitos are still fresh). But really, the food can be enjoyed at any time of day. The staff are charming and eager to serve, and the atmosphere is excellent.

I feel bad that 0 is not an option here, the manager is really rude and offensive, he thinks it is completely ok to be rude to his employees in front of customers. On one occasion I arrived with my service dog and he said it was not allowed at his establishment. I explained because of my disability that I needed his help and he said if inspectors come I’m in trouble. I proceeded to explain why I didn’t think this was correct, later on in the day he sent me and my wife a personal message on Facebook telling us to go F ourselves. In this case I am appreciative that Unilocal exist and gives people the right to express their opinions and discuss the reality. PROCEED WITH CAUTION !

Great value and best croquetas I’ve had in a while.

Great place to eat at for mostly breakfast, but really anytime. The people are very nice but it does help if you know Spanish, but here in Miami you should. Great service. Fast service.

Love this place! Even even they are busy the staff is always courteous and the food never disappoints. I only wish I lived closer!

I come to this bakery with each visit to Miami. Being from Chicago, we need our Cuban pastellito fix every time we visit. Danny (the owner) is awesome and has a very friendly staff.

Absolutely love this place. You literally feel like family when you come in here. I have brought my kids here since they were in the belly. They are constantly cooking in the back so I know the food is more than fresh. Staff is great and there daily deals are awesome. I have to say I have yet to find something I don’t like from here. Breakfast lunch and dinner are all on point.
Also have to express how good there cakes are only place I know that still makes on point Cuban cakes buy one for every party or occasion our family has ever had.

This bakery is by far the best one I’ve went to. The food is great and tasty and the customer service is on point with customer satisfaction. Danny Bakery and Café has a wide variety of Latin foods you’ll all enjoy. I recommend going to this bakery ASAP!

Great bakery in the area. We often go during the weekend to either eat there or take some goodies to go. So far their «house» croquetas are my favorite but everything we have ordered has been delicious

I stopped by for breakfast and relied on the feedback here, but was utterly disappointed.
I had a bacalau croquet, a cheese stick and a coconut pastelito, along with a fresh orange juice.
The cheese stick and the juice were good.
The croquet was soaked in oil and the coconut pastelito was a disaster: too oily, not enough filling (I could barely taste the coconut) and it was slightly burnt on the outside, leaving that bitter taste in one’s mouth.
After the first bite I just left it there.

Thanks to Danny Bakery, I was able to survive a Friday training in the area. My colada got me through the a session that my colleagues were mostly complaining about. Instead, I used my caffeine rush to knock out the assignments for two sessions leaving me the entire second session to play games on my iPad. Oh. Be sure to bring cash if you don’t plan on spending a lot. $ 5 minimum on credit cards will go a long way. For me, it meant 1 colada, 2 beef empanadas, & 2 cheese pastelitos. With that kind of breakfast at that price, why does anyone go anywhere for breakfast?!

This is hands down the best bakery in Kendall. Since I discovered it, I have taken family from New York, Ocala, and Brazil. We all say the same thing. Great people, food, and prices. Not to mention their party bocaditos are incredible. Isa, Susana, Gabriela, and Danny always make sure we are taken care of. That’s why I can’t give it anything less then 5 stars. Thank you Danny’s Bakery for everything. You guys are awesome.

This is my neighborhood bakery, and a good reason why the local bakery is sometimes the best place to grab breakfast. About 2 – 3 times a week I stroll in here to grab some pastelitos, café con leche, and occassionally a croqueta. They have a wide selection of baked goods such as cakes and deserts too. My favs:
Pastel de queso
Dedito
Pastel de coco
Yum.

I always get my pastelitos de queso from this bakery. My sister has had their steak sandwich and also raved about it.
The staff is friendly and they serve the food quick. They keep the place extremely clean. If you’re looking to pick up a quick bite to eat in West Kendall, this is the place. They have tiramisu, dulce de leche, pastelitos, croquetas, and an old favorite — tres leches. You name it, they have it all.
We actually purchased some classic Cuban hors’douvres from here for my baby shower. The prices are very affordable and they have different packages depending on how many guests you want to feed.

Before descending into the next ring of purgatory (that would be Walmart), I was hungry and looking for something besides the chains amply represented around here. A plain «Bakery» sign with a blinking Open light beckoned as I pulled into a nearly desolate parking lot.
Inside, I found a bright and stylishly simple Cuban bakery. I ordered the breakfast special — scrambled eggs with ham, Cuban toast, and café con leche for $ 3.50 — and sat down at one of the two glass tables that have been put out for customers.
The food was delicious and not as oily as some Cuban can be. They served it quickly and pleasantly and went about their main business — baking cakes and sweets, which were prominently displayed.
A steady stream of people came in and out — I guess I wasn’t the only one looking for something different.
