College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving

Honestly, I expected better service and care from College Hunks considering how much I paid. I heard about them from friends of mine that highly recommended them. I think their upfront service and communication was on point. The actual day of the move went fairly smooth, but there were some nicks on my wood furniture, and one of the movers dropped my glass decanter that was bubble wrapped. The Company did offer to reimburse me, but the movers had thrown it out so I was unable to take a picture and submit it
to their claims department. I am giving a three star rating because I don’t think the price I paid was equal to the service and care I expected.

Very friendly and accommodating over the phone when I made my reservation for them to unload a u-​haul that I would be driving from Texas. We agreed on 10:30 am on Monday for my move in. I called three times to confirm the date and time, including that morning. I arrived on time at my new place with the truck, where I waited for three hours blocking my neighbor’s in our parking lot while they never showed up. When I called to find out where they were, they said «sorry, we can’t come today.» No explanation given. They couldn’t reschedule for later in the day and the fastest they could come was two days later. Due to time constraints with having to return the truck, and a 20′ u-​haul really screwing up parking for everyone in my building I had to call pro-​movers, who were able to come the next day, and did a competent, if imperfect job.
Being there when you say you will is basic for anyone in any business. Not showing up at all after telling someone you’ll be there when they call two hours before the appointment is a major failure. If I could give them zero stars I would. If I hadn’t been able to find another company that could help at the last minute I would have been completely screwed.

I made an appointment on their website on Saturday afternoon for Sunday morning. Immediately received an email confirmation and the next day, they texted to let me know they were on their way. Then I got a phone call when they were close letting me know they were on their way. Trevor and CJ arrived on time, gave me an estimate (which was almost exact!) and got to work. They hauled away a one bedroom condo full of junk down 2 flights of stairs in just under 2 ½ hours. They were careful, courteous, and professional. I would highly recommend college hunks hauling junk and if you get Trevor and CJ you’ll be extremely happy with their service! Thanks guys!

Ohhhh the joys of moving. For the 5^th time in 3 years. Thankfully 3 of those 5 times have been within the same building. Still, it sucks.
Last week I called the Hunks to assist us with our move within our condo building. Everything was professional from my initial contact on through to the completion of the job. Upon calling, you speak with the person who schedules the job. Scheduling was a breeze. As a matter of fact when we learned that our building screwed up our move date, I had to call the Hunks and reschedule. The staff person was gracious and offered me several dates. You appreciate anyone who makes a move smoother!
A day or two before the move I received a call from Willy confirming the date. In a land of ohhhhhhh such awful customer service, this normal courtesy made me warm inside!
Willy and his buddy showed up on time, friendly and funny and ready to work. They were both attractive (hey – I take that Hunk thing seriously) and overall did a great job.
Honestly the move was so much less stressful than I anticipated. Now THAT is worth billions of stars!

Jordan and Cody did a great job helping us move, my husband and I are very happy with the service they provided. We would definitely use College Hunks again, as well as recommend to friends and family.
We had a tight time constraint due to the strict elevator reservation system in our new building. Jordan and Cody took great care to wrap all of our belongings, handled our boxes with care, and still managed to get everything into our new place in the time frame. They were professional and a pleasure to work with.

My rating is based on customer service and not on the actual movers.
I called to schedule my move with this company. They gave me a quote and a time that works for them. Since this is Miami and you need to reserve the elevators/​moving times with the condos, I said I’ll confirm ASAP once I call up both condos. I got the go-​ahead from both condos and called back a half hour later. The customer service guy then tells me that somebody took my time frame. OK, I don’t know why my time frame wasn’t reserved for the time being. Anyway, I was told by the representative that they will see if the other party can move time frames since I already got my elevators reserved. I was told I was going to get a call that day on whether they can or cannot accommodate; never got a call back.

Recently moved from Miami to Boynton Beach and couldn’t have been happier with College Hunks. They showed up on time, were extremely courteous and worked really hard to get the job done as fast as possible without sacrificing quality. Bonus that they spoke English.

I organized everything around their furniture/​junk pickup service today.
Next day I had tenant coming in to rent place unfurnitured and the furniture was to be donated to Goodwill.
Oh how wrong was I to get involved with College Hunks.
Here are the set of events:
1). Time Window scheduled well in advance: 2 – 4 pm.
2). At 4 pm I call their call center, they accept a message and promise that local franchise in Miami will call back. Nobody calls back. I call again. Same promise, nobody calls back.
3). At least I get the number of local franchise in Miami (Chris and Jesus), call them and they basically tell me at 4:30 pm: sorry, we are running late… and will be there by 5 pm sharp.
5 pm nothing happens…
5:30 pm nothing happens…
5:35 pm I call them again, they say: sorry, we are stuck in traffic …
I explain to them that association booked particular time slot for the move and it’s extremely time sensitive.
I tell my realtor and association people to wait longer.
4). 6:00 pm I call them and they say they won’t make it, cause their truck is full load and there is no place to put my furniture!
Unbelievable experience — never again to use College Junks

James & Willie were awesome! Were efficient and professional. Always skeptical of movers but these guys did a great job. Most movers call you and are confused what to do once they get to the apartment, but these guys showed up at my door and I didn’t have to instruct them as what to do when they get there. The move was quick and didn’t scratch any items. Will definitely use this company again

I was so happy with Jesus, Chris and the other College Hunks guys. We have used them twice in the past month, and their service was excellent both times. They showed up in time, never stopped working, and professional in everything they did. We loved the way they Shrink wrapped everything for us.

I highly recommend these movers. Very professional & excellent customer service. There was a bit of confusion with my address but they communicated with us in a timely manner and once they arrived they quickly began to prep our items. The price we were quoted over the phone was exactly what we were charged on the day of our move. They worked quickly & efficiently and handled our items with care. I will definitely be contacting them the next time I move.

My Hunks were Jordan and Willie and they did a fantastic job when they helped me move in December! They effortlessly maneuvered their large truck into a tight space and quickly loaded my things into it. Then they quickly unloaded my things into my new place and even put a table together for me very quickly. They were very friendly, professional, and helpful. Whoever I talked to on the phone when I first set up the move was also very helpful.

Couldn’t have asked for a better moving experience. From start to finish College Hunks Moving Miami was exceptionally professional. Courteous, knowledgeable, efficient and most importantly… honest. During the initial set-​up call, Reneta was able to answer every question in a polite, timely manner with no caveats or BS sales job. There were several follow-​ups confirming date, time, address, etc. The «Hunks», Jordan and Alex were fantastic –arriving on time, friendly and went to work immediately. They were patient and able to easily handle the expected hurdles of a move-​including an elevator that only periodically worked throughout the day! Nothing seemed to phase them or be deemed too much work! Jordan unloaded and packed a warehouse space with expert precision and great care. Throughout a long 10-​hour day they both remained positive, focused and service/​work-​oriented… at no time did I feel they were slowing down and «eating up time» to pad the bill. Quality of work and service never waned. Best of all… at the end… it cost exactly what they estimated… no extra fees or unexpected charges-​as had been my previous experiences.
They made a typically unpleasant task pleasurable. I have and will continue to recommend College Hunks to anyone planning to relocate. Great job Jordan and Alex… appreciate it!

Where I work we are setting up for Art Basel events. Someone had an injury and we needed labor help ASAP. After calling around to other moving companies the only one that was able to act fast was College Hunks! Renanda on the phone was super helpful and efficient.
Our Hunks were Angel and Alex. They were fantastic. Super friendly and ready to move/​work. The friendly is really the key here. I don’t think I’ve ever had such incredible customer service anywhere else for anything in all of South Florida. I mean there were smiles. They were dressed nicely in uniform. All around a great experience for a last minute request.
I hope that we are able to work together again in the future!

My wife and I used College Hunks Moving in June 2014 to have our belongings moved out of our large one bedroom condo, transported to the Miami ABF Terminal, and packed into an ABF U-​Pack Trailer. As we were going to be driving 1200 miles to Pittsburgh as soon as our belongings were packed into the trailer, I insisted on a prompt 9am start time rather than an arrival window. Jesus and Jordan arrived promptly at 9am as I requested. Their moving truck was impeccably clean and both Jesus and Jordan worked diligently to load, transport, and pack our belongings into the trailer. They were extremely friendly and were very careful when moving our belongings. When it came time to pack the ABF U-​Pack Trailer, Jesus and Jordan packed our boxes tight in the trailer so they would not incur damage in transit and also packed them so as to minimize the space in the trailer I was charged by ABF.
The only potential negative is that College Hunks Moving is significantly more expensive than other moving services in Miami. Their rates are about 50% higher than other quotes I received and they will not negotiate the price (believe me, I tried). However, lets be real. In Miami, customer service is by and large God-​awful. We did not need to deal with the stress of having our belongings damaged, having movers arrive late, etc. just before driving 1200 miles. For me, it was worth paying an extra $ 250 to not run the risk of dealing with problems. There are plenty of other ways you can save money on a long-​distance move. Using College Hunks Moving in conjunction with ABF U-​Pack saved us a TON of money on our long-​distance move (we saved approximately $ 1800 – 2800 in comparison to the quotes I received from traditional full-​service movers), even after spending an $ 250 extra to hire the highest-​rated local movers I could find in Miami.
In sum, I would highly recommend College Hunks Moving. It was well-​worth paying the premium they charge for their moving services. We had zero problems on moving day. When we unpacked our stuff in Pittsburgh, there was not one single thing we moved that was damaged – seriously, I cannot think of even one thing that was damaged! We were extremely pleased with College Hunks Moving. You should definitely use them for your next move in Miami, you won’t be sorry.

I called these guys to help me move/​haul some of my junk, I was very impressed with their professionalism and efficiency. They worked hard and quickly. They made me feel comfortable moving my things and being in my house. Would definitely recommend them.

To borrow from ‘To Sir With Love’: How do you thank someone who has taken you from stressed out to moved in? A five-​star Unilocal review seems like a fitting start.
You see, during our recent move (which got sabotaged not once, but twice) College HUNKS came to the rescue. Two days before our scheduled move, PODS (who was storing our belongings) informed us that parking a POD on Miami Beach street was illegal. That would have been fine had they told me the month before when I booked the move. Thanks, PODS! There we were… no stuff, no movers… and no place to call home. Fortunately for us, College HUNKS (an acronym standing for ‘Honest, Uniformed, Nice, Knowledgeable Students) popped up during a stressed out web search. I called knowing that they couldn’t help us and that we were going to be screwed. However, from the first call through to the final writing of the check there was no screwing at all. Basically, they rescued us with grace and ease, like Superman swooping in to catch Lois Lane one-​handed as she plummets to Earth.
Our two HUNKS Jorge and Jesus were fantastic. They worked diligently, never complained, and hardly broke a sweat doing it. Both students are studying business management, and they managed our move perfectly.
When I’ve moved in the past I’ve experienced that uncomfortable moment of knowing I should tip the movers, but not knowing why. I had paid an exorbitant fee for lackluster service. On the contrary after this move, the tip money flew out of my pocket like I was watching a talented exotic dancer do her/​his stuff. I wanted to tip them. That’s a testament to the entire experience with College HUNKS. You’ll want to tip them… so have your roll of cash ready. When you watch these HUNKS move… and boy do they move… you’ll see what I mean.
