Chatime Brickell

Went again and now it’s called potionz. They don’t have a huge bubble tea variety like before, but now they sell food (crepes, salads, etc)
Liked it better how it was before.

This location is horrible for parking. Unless you work at one of those buildings, its not like you can just drop by and enjoy.
They do take a long time to do each of the drinks and they seem to be having some sort of identity crisis as theres a crep menu on the side and the «permits» have a different name.
The prices are ok, and I do like the ask about the level of sugar to the drink.
I tried the green tea with pearls and even at 50% sugar, it was a bit too much for me.

3 Stars with sadness for old times’ sake.
I’m SUPER sad to report that Chatime Brickell is GONE. I guess the owners decided to end the franchise relationship and start their own thing. It is no longer a real Chatime but a regular café joint that serves crepes, sandwiches, and well, some boba.
I frequent restaurants that also offer boba but I always make the trip to Chatime to enjoy the authentic, delicious Taiwanese-​style recipes and flavors.
I LOVE Chatime and I’m so so sad to see this location go. The new café cannot and will not serve the old awesome Chatime menu after the current ingredients run out. Go now if you want to enjoy the Chatime recipes while it lasts!!!
Come back Chatime to the Brickell/​Downtown area!!! I’ll follow you anywhere you go!!!

I’ve been here at least 10 times and am obsessed with their boba tea. I usually get the passion fruit or peach green tea with tapioca boba with 50% sugar and 80% ice.
There is quite a wide selection of teas and boba to choose from! I’d recommend asking if they have any samples while you decide. You can usually sample several different types of boba and 1 – 2 types of tea.
You can also request less sweetness and ice. I’d highly recommend not getting the full 100% sweetness since it is pretty sweet. Also, slightly less ice will allow you to have more boba tea.
Brickell really is quite fortunate to have a boba tea place this good in our own backyard. I was in Chinatown in NYC looking for excellent boba tea and after asking some locals where the best place was and finding the shop and discovering it had the longest line of anywhere in Chinatown, I soon realized it was another Chatime branch!

Was quite surprised to see a Chatime, right on Brickell Ave, in Miami. I’ve been to Chatimes in the past but only in London and Asia. It’s a good location if you’re in the Brickell area already or work here. There isn’t any free parking however so be mindful of this when coming to this location.
They have good bubble tea — I don’t like sugary drinks so my fav part of Chatime is the ability to customize the amount of sugar, the amount of ice, etc in addition to the flavor and add ons (like boba, red bean, etc). Staff is very friendly as well.
Overall it’s what to from Chatime and similar to their other locations around the world.

The location is really in middle of no where. There is no parking. I don’t want to pay to park just to buy a drink.
I got the taro smoothie. All I can say is: it’s disappointing. It was chalky, and powdery. there was tiny chunks in it.

Wow! There are so many types of teas it’s a bit overwhelming on what to have… If your big on tea definitely worth checking out…
I had the passion fruit QQ with low sugar and it was pretty good. Thought it was a bit expensive but I guess it goes with the location and the novelty. The service was good nothing out of this world… Enjoy!

Bubbles, Bubbles, and more Bubbles! So yea im on a quest to find the best boba tea in America. Can never have too much or suffer from a boba overdose. Chatime is fairly new to the downtown area, but it was a necessity for the business-​laiden area of miami. Boba tea is a great morning waker-​uper, good afternoon holdover, or a fantastic end to a good dinner, so if you are on the run, or just coming home, its a great stop. The location in downtown, is good, but also bad– parking is very limited around the area, so either you have to order a head of time, park and walk, or have someone else with you. They have a tea menu and tea flavors thats ive never seen or heard before, as well some twisted boba teas. Menu and Store are great, now on the other hand the service is flat out terrible.
I have been here 5 times, and I have 5 bad experiences and more to go along with each visit. Either it being the attendant not taking the correct order, or them forgetting to add the add-​ons, or limiting groupon coupons to 1 per visit, or the lack of knowledge about the flavors the workers have, rewards issues. or simply the tea tasting bad. Hard to believe such a small place and simple concept would have so many negatives. The Product is Great but The Service is Inadequate. Wait times are somewhat lengthy as well. Will continue to frequent here though as good Boba Tea is a luxury to find in Miami.
Boba Tea Taste and Variety –4, Service — 1

I got the passion fruit tea with lychee jelly, and it was average. The tea flavor was pretty good, and they gave an ample amount of jelly. The cup was somewhat small though, and they gave a bit too much jelly in my opinion. Kudos to the tea flavor though!

Chatime’s tagline is «Good Tea, Good Time». My experience was more like «Decent Tea, Bad Time».
The building itself looked really promising upon arrival. It’s a modern, free-​standing glass box that looks like a mini Apple store complete with white tables and white chairs outside. That’s where the cool factor ended.
The line was long and the workers were frenzied. As a former bubble tea girl, I cringed as I stood in line FOREVER and watched them work with complete inefficiency. To top it off, the girl taking orders was rude, rushed, and mostly busy answering the phone. The thing that surprised me most was that they were out of large cups and awaiting a shipment, I mean… how hard is it to run to costco and buy some cups???
Anywho, the milk teas were pretty good but the boba was undercooked and too stiff. Also, my friend ordered a Matcha green tea smoothie and spent most of his time spitting out ice chips at us in anger.

I wasn’t planning for bubble tea but I found this location on Unilocal when I was searching for coffee place near my hotel during my Miami trip. So that evening we decided to have dinner in the Brickell area so from our hotel to that area. it was about a 15mins walk so that’s when we decided to find Chatime. It was 15mins before closing and we made it!
The staff were super friendly and gave us her recommendations for drinks and restaurants in the area.
They ran out of tapioca but grass jelly was all we needed! I got my taro grass jelly. first time combination and it was sooo good! I felt like they gave me extra real taro, love it!
They had the roasted milk tea as well and you will NEVER go wrong with this one!
5 star service and quality– I will definitely be back on my next trip.

I came back, and gotta upgrade my review to a 5 star. My credit card fell through the crack behind their sign at the front desk. The employee who was working there immediately started helping me in anyway she could. She and I spent about 20 minutes trying to get the credit card out, by making makeshift sticks with menus and tape. I’m extremely grateful to her and easily gave her a $ 5 tip.
On top of that you’ve gotta try their jasmine green milk tea boba. One of my faves now!

Probably the best Bubble Tea option in Miami.
After just returning from my ten day trip to New York and DC and discovering Chatime in NY Chinatown, my sister obsessing over the coffee bubble tea she had there, I was shocked to learn we had one in our own back yard now!
In fact, as soon as I found out via a Unilocal check in, I told my sister who drove the next day just to get another coffee bubble tea fix!
They have more to offer than just bubble tea however, a lot more in fact.
The only complaint is that it’s not easy to get to if you’re not already on foot, but it’s totally worth check it out when you’re in the area or just craving something different.

OMGOMGOMG I CANT BELIEVE THERES A CHAT TIME SOMEWHAT NEAR ME! This is like the Asian Starbucks, it’s on every corner in Malaysia! I had to come give this a try and see how real the deal was…
I WAS SATISFIED. I ordered my chat time usual, milk tea with grass jelly. I am amazed that their grass jelly is good grass jelly, like the soft kind that you scoop with a spoon from a bucket to put into the cup and drink it out the straw and let it kinda melt in your mouth in a way. Some places use those hard cubes of grass jelly and it’s NOT THE SAME. I am coming here for my boba needs for as long as a chat time opens up near Kendall. They were also having a Mother’s Day special tonight where you buy a large drink and get a regular drink free (regular drink can’t have toppings). So as a regular, I got the grapefruit green tea. Not bad, a little too sweet so I’ll tell then to ease down on the sugar. Still meets my expectations.

im not a boba fan but my girl loves boba and aways complains how Miami doesnt really cater to all the cultural cusines except infused everything with South American favors. Anyways she found this place and said it was really close which was true.
Unfortunately everything pre made so you cant adjust the tea favors or the milk but you can adjust the ice and sugar level.
I got Passion fruit tea with half sugar and ice. it was good and close to home. Still pretty sweet but not bad.

ok so coming from California where boba and tea shops are everywhere. This pass as «A» in my book. Its not awesome but still really good. A little too milky but I can ask them to add less milk next time. I did the same combination as I would get at Half and Half teahouse back home. Delicious!
Miami is finally getting to taste a little of what Asian dessert drinks should taste like.

The milk tea here is the milk tea of my people. O. M. G. :) Totally beats Lan Pan, Lollicup, etc. «boba milk teas» by far!
The boy and I had just gone to Taiwan this past winter (my umpteenth time back, his first time there). He fell in love with my favorite drink: milk tea with pudding, no ice, half sugar, plox.
So, here at Chatime, the boy went and got the standard milk tea. The person putting it together did make a mistake (accidentally gave him the pearls/​bubbles, though he didn’t want that), but it wasn’t a big deal because he doesn’t mind them. She offered to remake the drink, but he waved her off (nice customer service). :)
I went out on a limb and tried the matcha mousse drink… because, obviously, anything with matcha powder is S2 (love). lol!
They put their own «whipped cream» like substance on the top of the drink and mix up some kind of matcha (green tea-​flavored) mix at the bottom. All in all, it is deeeeeeeelishus.
So, yeah. Go. Try it. It is of the yum. It speaks to my tastebuds in my native language. ;)
And I’m sort of lucky that it’s far away or else I’d be poor and fat. :)

Okay seriously, what chinese/​asian person dosent know about chatime. Its like thee boba chain besides lollicup that is only in the US. I am so happy to have a chatime in Miami. Finally a boba store! It is located in brickell aka finance-​food district next to sushi siam. Very modern, clean, bright open small store with a few seats inside but mainly seating outside. My sister and I went here today since it was just minutes away from her school in coconut grove. We got the pearl milk tea (milk tea with boba) and the mango green tea with boba. Both were pretty good but the tapioca balls (boba) were perfectly cooked! I gotta say this is probably the best boba I have had in Miami. I gotta say coming from someone who has had boba from san fran alameda and chinatown to taiwan, this place is pretty decent. The price is a little pricey but you get what you pay for, trust me. I def will be back and so will my family. I will also be recommending this place to people looking for good boba in Miami.
Basically: Chinese girls know where to find good asian food and good boba. So listen to me when I say this is the best boba in Miami your going to find. I know what I am talking about. Go get boba here.

Love this new Taiwanese boba place. I could see myself going here … Over and over again. This place beats any place in Miami that has ever attempted to make boba tea. And that place in Dadeland station? — they better step up their drink game.
The key is in the tea. It’s made well and doesn’t taste weak or watered down … High quality stuff here. For some drinks the tea leaves are freshly pressed into the drinks for an extra kick.
The boba pearls so far have also been perfect — never too soft or difficult to chew
Hard boba pearls are a sign of being undercooked or they have been reused from the day before. Boba pearls are always fresh here.
The added benefit? They advertise you to be able to control how much sugar can be included in your drink … From 0 — 80%.
Fruit teas and QQ drinks are the perfect thing for a hot day in Miami (how many of those do we have ?). The drinks are so refreshing! The boba and coconut jelly gives the drink a nice a texture. I got the Taiwan Mango QQ Chatime Jelly and I was a happy camper.
Mousses are a bit heavier and topped with a milky froth — a bit like melted ice cream. Tieguanyin Tea Latte was great. You do crave a bit of water when you finish but that’s ok.
Pearl Milk Tea — the original and it’s perfect the way it is !! Anyone who knows boba tea knows that this is the go to drink. You really can’t go wrong with lightly sweetened and chilled tea with just a splash of milk. Sigh … I could have buckets of this.
Passion Fruit Green Tea — strong tea with light flavoring of passion fruit. Refreshing without being overly sweet.

I have to admit, I was so thrilled when I learned that Chatime was to open a store in Miami. With Chatime and Gyukaku’s opening, the world has certainly become smaller.
Chatime is like the Starbucks of bubble tea, starting in 1995 in Taiwan, where bubble tea originated, and in a decade has expanded to 22 countries with over 1,000 stores. You can trust that they make a mean bubble.
Bubble 101: Bubbles, or boba, are pearl-​sized black tapioca balls with a bouncy, chewy mouthfeel. It’s starch, so if you are counting carb, opt for coconut jelly (made from coconut water, like clear gelatin but chewier). I usually opt for «QQ» is half tapioca balls half coconut jelly. Red azuki bean is another healthy option, a classic pairing with matcha. Grass jelly is made with herb and has a slightly licorice and bitter flavor.
As for the drinks, they have many varieties of tea. You can get plain tea like black, jasmine green, oolong, genmai; fruit tea like mango green tea, passion fruit green tea, and lychee black tea. For tea connoisseurs, there are several origin-​specific tea. You can also get it latte style with milk, and even cappuccino style (mousse) with cream on top. They also have several types of juices from the citrus family and some smoothies.
I opted for the tieguanyin mousse, then got worried that the tea may be stale as it’s an uncommon order here. I watched as the girl packed some tea leaves into a filter holder and locked it into something that looks very much like an espresso machine. My tea was brewed like espresso, with a fresh, full flavor! The friendly owner, Natalie, told me that the machine was imported from Taiwan, with one side for brewing tea and one for coffee.
While I usually prefer supporting independent shops rather than chains, I have to say Chatime’s bubble tea is better than others. Some places use powder and with a look or sip, you know it’s artificial. But here everything is really fresh and good quality. And oh you can specify the sweetness of your drink and many are available hot or cold. Not to mention that the price is very reasonable.
Can’t wait to go back and try all the delicious and interesting options!
