History

Established in 2015.

Burrito San is a fast-casual concept developed in January 2013 to bring a new and innovative fusion of Pan Asian flavors combined into a variety of entrees wrapped in burrito sized sushi styled rolls initially, to the South Florida market.

The team behind Burrito San is comprised of Johnson Teh, who has over two decades of experience running kitchens and creating award winning menus, Kazu Abe, who hasworked in both independent and multi-unit restaurant concepts and is currently operating two other well-known restaurants in the South Florida area, and Samuel Getz, a respected local businessman, who has overseen multi-million dollar retail outlets in the region for over 30 years.

Business Owner

Kazu Abe grew up in the restaurant business working with her parents, Chika and Yasuko Abe, the first chefs to bring sushi to Miami in the late 70’s. After graduating from Cornell’s famed Hospitality program, Kazu joined the highly successful Chicago based conglomerate of boutique restaurants, Lettuce Entertain You, where she met her husband and partner Johnson Teh.
