This fund raising event was held in the ever so beautiful Moore building. Proceeds benefit the arts program for the Miami Dade Public Schools. As we were greeted and checked in by the most lovely young lady who was very nice we strolled into the main floor and was blown away with all the artwork. All of the artwork was done by Miami Dade public school students. Two floors were filled with such imaginative artwork. I enjoyed looking at all the creativity by these amazing students. Bacardi was the sole sponsor for cocktails, and they were making some great drinks. They had two bars, one on the first floor and one on the second. Students from the Robert Morgan Senior High School culinary arts magnet school were walking around with trays of food to sample. These students were friendly and they worked so hard for all of us. Salmon bites, dates, and other items were passed around. They had one huge table set up on the first floor where all the main food was. The line was long but it seemed to move quickly. My only suggestion would be to have another table maybe on the second level because the line was so long people were standing in front of the artwork and people could not see it nor bid. The food was delicious, crab cakes were to die for. The thin sliced prime rib was juicy heaven, they had pasta, cheeses, and a few other items, everything was fantastic. Michael Schwartz from Michael’s Genuine, Michelle Bernstein of Michy’s, and Cindy Hutson from Ortinique on the Mile, were the food sponsors and they did a great job. Much, much thanks for such great food. Very nice event and what a great cause. Will go next year and be better prepared to grab some cool artwork from these amazing kids. They also had vacation packages, restaurant gift cards, so many local places donated to this great cause. Thank you very much to all.
