Americas Best Value Inn – Globe/Miami

Highly NOT recommended. We had a hard time finding a hotel in Globe that takes dogs (should have backtracked to the Motel 6). They tried to charge $ 25 for one night with the dog (we talked them down to $ 15), but at that point we were tired of looking. I was told later by a friend that the Nofziger Inn (an old school that has been converted to a bed and breakfast on a hill in town overlooking Globe) does take dogs and will try that next time, but you have to make arrangements in advance. This hotel room smelled like cigarette smoke, rug was not something you wanted to step on, the a/​c turned off and on all night keeping us awake, and we pulled the covers off (brought our own thank goodness) as it had one of those polyester bedspreads that probably had not been washed in months and had been used for who knows what. My partner took the dog for a walk in the morning and the whole back side of the motel lot was littered with beer bottles (oh, and the train runs right past as well). The whole location was very run down with a parking lot that desperately needs resurfacing to an empty commercial space directly next door. Globe needs to get with the program and offer some better quality pet friendly hotels.

The room was in desperate need of renovation. The AC was unable to cool the room. When we informed the front desk we were thinking about leaving they didn’t even ask what was wrong or how they could accommodate us. They simply said we be refunded 1 of the 2 nights we were charged even though we were there for less than 2 hours.

We went to Globe to visit family and stayed a couple of nights here. It is just the opposite of my review last year. They made great strides to improve their hotel and it has worked. We found the rooms to be clean and comfortable and the service great. The continental breakfast is adequate with cereal, toast, bagels, and cream cheese, juice and coffee. The rooms have been refreshed and feels very different then what it used to be. I was happy to stay there and will return. Thanks for the great stay!
