Villa Azur

We had booked there following the reco of a good friends.
A little scared after reading all the bad reviews.
but:
We had a pleasant experience.
Our reservation was at 8pm on Sunday night (Valentine’s Day). The space itself is very nice.
It wasn’t crowded yet so not noisy and the music was rather classic and adapted to the occasion.
All the staff on our way to the table greeted us and seemed happy (unlike what we read in the reviews).
Our waiter was a big Russian guy and he was very polite and attentive although he made some mistakes.
We ordered the special Foie gras for two. He misunderstood me and brought the regular foie gras but changed it very quick once I told him that it wasn’t what we ordered.
The foie gras itself was very good (I’m from the south west of France, my family made foie gras for a living). It was supposed to come with brioche though: we were merely served white toasts… Still a positive experience.
For main course we ordered sea bass and rack of lamb (both recommended by our waiter). Both dishes were good. I also had asked for a glass of Pinot noir but it hadn’t arrived by the time I finished the lamb so the waiter agreed to cancel it.
For dessert we had the tiramisu for 2.
I love tiramisus. We were surprised when it arrived bc it looked nothing like a tiramisu. It was an «interesting interpretation» per my gf :-)
It was a chocolate/​coffee pie crust box filled with a mascarpone mousse and topped with a dark chocolate bow.
But it tasted very good!
They should consider renaming it :)
By the time we were finishing, the restaurant was starting to fill up and the service became slower. We had to ask for the check 3 times and waited probably 15−20min to get it. Not a big deal.
There was a a live piano/​singer for the night. Honestly we both thought she was terrible. No voice, poor rhythm and she forgot/​mixed up the lyrics to some of the songs.
Overall a good experience priced in line with other Miami beach trendy places.
Definitely not as bad as some of the reviews suggest.
Would I go back? Probably not, many other places to try. Do I regret spending my valentines dinner there? Not at all.
Should you give it a shot? I believe so.

The food was way below expectations. But service was even worse. Very rude attendants and hosts. They should be more mindful of and respectful with customers. Host kicks people out of the restaurant after some time while they are having drinks and desserts.
If the restaurant needs to accommodate other reservations, the waiter (rather than a bouncer) could ask for the table in many polite manners, especially she could explain that customers could remain at the bar. Instead of this, a bouncer comes yelling at customers really kicking them out.
We spend too much money in a restaurant to be treated like this. Worst experience ever and strongly discourage anyone to go to this restaurant. After all, the food was not even good.

We came to this place around 6 pm. I ordered grilled salmon and my friend ordered fillet mignon. Salmon was just perfect but the meat was really average.
I can say that the amount of money we were billed was too much for the food we ate.

I forgot to update this, despite our bad experience, the manager did reach out to me, and was polite, well spoken, and genuinely concerned. I will give them another chance.

We just left this horrible place. We ordered sea bass, it was fishy and slimy. The clams were pure garlic, the lobster salad was nothing but green onion. Terrible food, rude staff. I am stunned by what just happened. Please, please don’t spend your money here. You’ve been warned.

This place is beautiful! The dessert (pannacota with dulce de leche and mango) was shocking I think is one of the best dessert I have ever tried !!! The music was excellent

Lovely place for romance or pick up a sugar daddy the food is good and service spectacular.

Romantic and swanky place. Love the ambience and music selections. Got the course menu. Food was mediocre. The ribs were dry and the salmon was not that great. 2 stars for food. 5 stars for ambience and interior décor

So we haven’t been here in a couple years so we thought we would try it out. Called last minute on a Friday night and got reservations for 5 at 9:30pm which was great. The music and ambiance were amazing… The food. Not so much. The Appetizers were ok-​Nothing to write home about. Both my friends order the Chicken Piccata and I don’t think the chef knows what that dish really is. There were 4 – 5 small pieces of overcooked chicken with some kind of olive on each and no sauce! Basically go for the scene not the food!

Villa Azur is just so pretty. The garden patio is lovely, I love the soft violet lights and the calming, yet cool music that fills the restaurant.
I was happy to be able to dine here as the restaurant was very accommodating in a menu change for me.
I do have to say, as much as I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, I did not enjoy my entrée, a chicken dish I ordered. It was bad. There was a consensus that appetizers were good, but entrees fell short of being even decent level.
As a diner who loves a good scene, I will be back, probably for just a drink and light appetizers.

This is for sure my favorite restaurant in Miami Beach! I’ve been coming to Villa Azur for quite some time now and I absolutely love it. Perfect for a romantic dinner on Mondays night with live music but also the place to be every Thursday night for the best dinner party in town! The restaurant décor and ambience is very unique and super chic, the garden is what makes this place truly special for me! The food is amazing, desserts are even better! My favorites are the tuna tartare and the dulce de leche panna cotta! Service is always great and the staff is super friendly! I recommend Villa Azur to anyone visiting or living in Miami!

We made a reservation well in advance, and were told many times that we have timeframes to complete our dinner. This is not a fast food restaurant and these comments were inappropriate for this, supposedly a high-​end place. Yet, the service was slow and horrible. Orders were mixed, and some taken for the items that were not available. The food was overdone and despite involving the manager, nothing was done. We were told that the items we ordered are not available, but when we asked for a check, they start arriving. We choose not to tip as was suggested and were told that tips are mandatory. The management of this restaurant is condescending and stock up. They switched to French a few times fully understanding that this is not the language we speak. If you want to ruin your evening and feel used, feel free to go there. Otherwise, stay out!!!

So this place is in competition with villa bagatelle and Baoli. An upper class cool restaurant that turns into a club music atmosphere later at night; so you can continue to simply eat or eat and Dance (by your table or on your table).
I had caviar and then Kobe stake. Both were excellent. The service was also very VIP.
They have a genuine indoor bar and dining area.; they also have a garden-​feel outdoor dining area with open skies or open skies that are sheltered with plastic cover (must be weather related).
Excellent atmosphere over all. Great for a date, but better for larger groups or occasions.
I gave them 4 (instead of 5) stars due to inconsistency of music style played (jump from 80s to recent, back to 80s). Good music though.

Reaaaaly the best thing that ever happen to me in Miami. Thursday night at Villa Azur. Definitly is worth for the money that you gonna spend!!! Thank you for making my birthday so special !!

So I was super excited to come here. I had only hears great things … But was unfortunately disappointed… I went with three other girlfriends. (Mind you I am the tallest of the four … I am 6ft) I literally got hit in the head by trays not once … Not twice… But three bloodly times … And not one time did they apologize and then one security guard while I was talking to my friend to the side of the walk way by the way, just butt in front inside of walking around us (when again we were not even in the middle of the side walk area) … So rude staff… Drinks expensive … And just not a good experience… Won’t be coming back.

To say I am disappointed is an understatement. We finished the meal by arguing with the manager so that items that never came to the table taken off the bill. Very expensive evening. Do not recommend this restaurant.
Dinner started out fine. Appetizers came to the table (for 15 of us) and everyone seemed to enjoy them. Things deteriorated rapidly from there. We were never offered wine with dinner or additional drinks.
Entrees were average. I was appalled that one dish was served to the wrong person, and after he tasted it, they re-​served it to someone else at the table. The chicken truffle came out cold. My husband’s ribeye was paper thin and very fatty. He also ordered asparagus and after asking three times over 30 minutes, the server noticed there there was a plate of asparagus on the other side of the table. Without even asking, the waiter grabbed the plate to bring it to us (yes he literally took it out of someone’s hand.)
I ordered a filet which was served AFTER everyone else had finished their meals. Everyone had their meals cleared and sat and watched me eat mine. I had to ask for my meal repeatedly over at least 45 minutes. After 30+ minutes, the manager argued that I had ordered a ribeye, rather than a filet. I have never ordered a ribeye at a restaurant. (Filet is the only cut of steak I eat out.) When I finally was served, the steak was average.
By the time we got dessert, the music is as loud as any nightclub. Talking was not an option. Even yelling, we could not hear each other.
I left with a splitting headache. Would not come back, and definitely not recommend this place. HORRIBLE experience for a meal. It may be fine as a nightclub, but as a restaurant it fails miserably.

We visit Miami frequently and realized that we’ve never tried this spot and it was time. The atmosphere gets a definite A from me, very romantic and cozy. Our server never smiled, in fact he had a frozen miserable face the whole night. The food was okay, average at best, I had Salmon and can make it better myself. The prices is what you would expect from a nice spot in Miami. I wouldn’t go back again but glad I tried it.

Prettiest restaurant in Miami. Hands down.
We came on a Wednesday night. The bar was empty so we easily found two seats. We ordered two cocktails. Adorable presentation and tasted amazing. Cocktails were same as everywhere else (15 $).
The bar is indoors and the dining area is just beautiful. But the outdoor seating is the way to go. It is just simply breath taking. I can’t speak for the food since we stuck to cocktails but honestly most people in Miami you’re going for atmosphere and décor. This place wins at both. Definitely a must see for everyone in Miami.

I came here for my birthday dinner with a group of 12. When you walk in this place is beautiful and very well designed. When we arrived our table wasn’t ready so we went to the bar. Great atmosphere and the drinks were wonderful. We had two dirty martinis and our friends had their specialty drinks and they were well made.
We were seated outside and the ambience was perfect. They had these women walking around modeling. Not sure their purpose but we counted four outfit Changes… at the very least it was entertaining. We asked for regular water but later on we realized they served us voss and charged us 80.00 for it. Needless to say, our guests were not happy!
On to the food, we stared off with the foie gras, croquettes and Brie. The foie gras was not for us. Temperature was off. The croquettas and brie were great. To follow, I ordered the truffle Ravoli and my husband ordered the chicken. Both plates were wonderful, we could not complain. The sauce had the perfect consistency. For desert, we had macaroons. They were good; can’t really go wrong.
The only real reason I gave this place a three was because the table service was terrible. They do not split checks so it’s not convenient for large groups. On my birthday, I literally sat there and separated everyone tab. The waiters seemed bothered by a large group. We had to continue to call them back for more drinks or food. They were not attentive at all. He didn’t share any specials or drink menus.
Such a shame bc we enjoyed food and wanted to try their pasta in the cheese wheel.

We were dining here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. What a romantic setting! We dined outside under the tent and lights. Everyone was very nice and willing to explain the menu in detail. We should have made our reservations a little later as it gets happening after 9:00 pm.
The goat cheese croquettes as well as the truffle Mac and cheese were delicious.

The ambiance was almost textbook for a Valentine’s Day in Miami. It was setup for storybook romance. The tent. The chandeliers. The lighting. The «love potion» cocktail which my group of 5 couples all agreed was one of the best they’ve tried.
Our food was great too. We loved everything and especially the truffle raviolis and my scallops with honey and fennel which were so flavorful.
The service was a bit snooty but not so much that I wouldn’t return.
