I can not believe I’m actually placing a negative review towards The 9th Chakra, but unfortunately today I learned they are not the place I always thought them to be. I purchased a silver chain for a Christmas gift. I told the girl behind the counter that I needed a chain to go with the ankh that I was purchasing. I explained that it was for a guy so the chain needed to be long enough for a man’s neck. They showed me a couple of chains but most of them were very short. They convinced me on one of the chains, which later on I found out it was the most expensive one of all 3. How convenient! I liked the chain allot so I just went ahead and took it. As I imagined, the chain dos not fit my friend’s neck. So I took the chain back in order to get a longer chain or store credit, and now I was told that all sales are final. What kind of bull is this? Really guys? You could have not told me this when I was in doubt about the chain? You have been portraying for years this«holier than thou» attitude and you carry policies that inconvenience your customers? I’m in awe and greatly disappointed at your unethical ways. I have been shopping in your store for almost 20 years now since you guys were a small little store on Lincoln. I have sent dozens of people from my spiritual circle to your store. I’m not in any way vindictive, but I will warn all my friends about your ethics. It’s very confusing for someone like me to have had an image of perfection in your culture, but I realize you are just another business establishment that uses poor business policies in order to secure all your sales. Shame on you!

Welcome to the spiritual cul-de-sac known as the New Age movement. I have been going in and out of places like these since I was 16 and really started on my spiritual journey, and let me tell you up front, this place is a store. no more, no less. To it’s credit, it is generally the same bs vibe that many of these places have, contrived and really trying to create an atmosphere that need not be created, merely attuned to. The prices border on gouging, and are no doubt a reflection of the typical New Age store pricing combined with a SoBe location. There is plenty here for the New Age collector with a hole in their pocket, and even a psychic whose gift is questionable at best. The last time I went, the were offering aura photography as well, and definitely charging top dollar for it. Then there is al of the obvious fare to be found in a store like this from books to tarot decks to crystals, etc. etc. Look, you don’t need to just take my word for it, but experience these things for yourself as with all matters of spirituality. I feel as a fellow Traveller, that i must inform you of my experience here(and other places like it) and that I felt the only god presence here at The 9th Chakra was the god of this world named commerce. The place plays on your material senses, but doesn’t feel right. Not a slam, but an observation. I like to go to these places on the very off chance I find one that has a real God presence as the ones that vibrate a strong spiritual frequency are quite rare.

What a terrible place! They are thieves who sold us a defective Mala and claimed we broke it when I bought it not even an hour ago. We didn’t even request our money back but that they repair it for us, and they came back with all sales are final. It was a $ 150 piece and they don’t even care, but decided to call the police on me because I demanded my money back. Don’t give them the pleasure of earning honest money because they are far from an honest business practice!

I stopped in at the end of Labor Day weekend to pick up some incense. I had a pleasant experience when they were on Lincoln Road however this new shop left me feeling like a thief. They follow you around the store and are constantly taking things from your hands to place at the register. I have no interest in stealing let alone a twenty five cents incense of POS magic crystal so stop following me around the store! They also had a film crew present and decided to film me without my permission. When I challenged the employee with the long hair, he was incredibly condescending and just rude. They have a good selection of incense however I’ll be going elsewhere to get mine.

staff is nice but it’s kind of annoying when you feel/see them sort of following you as you browse thru the store. some of them are also a bit intimidating to talk to or it just might be me. It’s got cool stuff but i just think some of the stuff is extremely over priced.

This store has a lot of jesus statues, Santeria paraphernalia, a few overpriced crystals and tarot cards, an old lady who tries to convince you that shes psychic as she extracts money from you. Oh and the staff might follow you around the store like a group of hawks like you might steal something. Paranoid and definitely not psychic.

This review is long over due, I have been patronizing this place for years. It is kind of a fixture in South Beach. It is great just to walk in and feel the energy and gaze over the many unique items. I have talked to the owner quite a few times, very nice person. You can get aura photos here, crystals, unique incenses, statues, rare occult spiritual books, jewellery, spiritual paintings and posters. They also have psychic’s and tarot card readers.

This is an enormous resource for the metaphysical. You can get crystals, books, readings and jewelry. The store is one of the better metaphysical store locations in Miami. Expect an attentive and informative staff, it is a regular experience here.

AVOIDTHISSTOREATALLCOSTS — STAFFWASRUDEANDTHEYTAKEADVANTAGEOFTHEIRCUSTOMERS! I HAVEBEENSUPPORTINGTHEMFOROVER7YEARSANDWILLNEVERGOBACKAFTERTODAY’S EXPERIENCE. I was in the store today and have been supporting 9th Chakra for years — even back when the store was located on Lincoln Road. Today I was standing at the counter and paying for a bracelet that I was purchasing for my sister-in-law who just had a miscarriage, hoping to bring some love, light and encouragement into her life. I was chatting with the man behind the counter and reached into my purse to grab my wallet to pay when I an item fell off the counter and onto the floor. It was a ceramic heart that was apparently valued at $ 18. I did not touch this item, I wasn’t holding it — I didn’t even see it. I did not hit it or touch it, however, the salesman insisted that it was my responsibility and that I had to pay for the item, even though I was not touching or interacting with it at all at the time. I told him that I refused to pay for it because I wasn’t even touching the item and he refused to let me leave the store. I asked to speak to a manager and he said that the only way he could communicate with his manager was via email(and I know that was a lie, like he doesn’t have his manager’s phone number) and that I would have to wait for the manager to email him back before I could leave. I was already late to go see my father who fell today and broke his hip and was in the ER, so waiting was not an option. I told him that I would never come into the store again and that I felt that was he was doing was completely wrong. I would understand if I was holding the item and looking at it and dropped it but, again, I wasn’t touching, looking at or interacting with the item in ANYWAY. 9th Chakra supposedly functions off good deeds, karma and understanding. My experience in the store today represented nothing but pure NEGATIVITY and it seemed like I was being used to make nothing but a quick buck. It’s not my responsibility to watch out for their overly-cluttered counter-tops at the cashier if I’m reaching into my purse to PAY for an item. I will NEVER return to the store and vowed to make sure to spread the word so that no one else is taken advantage of the way that I was.

Really like the new location. Larger than their previous location. From the moment you walk in you are instantly in another dimension, incense fills the air, soft music playing and the entire vibe is peaceful and spiritual. The merchandising is fresh, enticing, artistic with a nice selection of products. My only issue are their prices on merchandise. They are higher than anywhere else. What I do like are the aura photography, tarot reading’s etc… Now their prices for practitioners are typical and some less than other places. This store is great for picking up gifts for yourself or others. Some of their merchandise is unique and hard to find, but it does come with a steep price. Awesome selection of tarot cards, incense, singing bowls, jewelry, and more. Browse through the store, from motivational spiritual books, to some very cool mediation CD’s, they have a nice selection. Friendly service, uplifting décor to embrace positive thoughts and energy. Looking forward to going back as I saw some interesting items.

Its been around for years and just recently changed locations from the center of Lincoln Road to the center of Alton Road. I’ve always enjoyed walking into this store, regardless of its touristy trap feel. The incense is always burning and soft spa music is always playing. From candles, to books to mandalas and everything in between, you’ll find some sort of esoteric object. I mostly go for the incense, even though I can get it on the internet for half the price, its just part of the window shopping experience on Lincoln Road. You will be greeted by a very large brass Buddha at the very entrance of the door. I don’t care who you are but the image of such a calm and serene deity always puts me at ease(even if its just for show).
