I sort of (and by ‘sort of’, I mean ‘do’) love that the first liquor store I went to in South Beach was this one. It was hood, with a weird layout, ok selection (overpriced on bottles by a couple of dollars), colorful (read: terrifying) locals who would breeze in and out shouting obscenities, threats AND blessings, and a bizarre owner whose unnerving smile and odd conversation made me check for my kidneys on the way out. So close to SoFi and, yet, so far.
