History
Established in 1937.
Surf Florist started as an add on to Spaulding’s Grocery Store in Surfside in 1937 (being founded in Surfside is why the oldtimers call us «Surfside Florist»). Peter Demetrius bought the floral department from the Spaulding’s in 1952 and turned it into a Miami Beach powerhouse florist. Chaim Casper bought the store from Peter in 1988 and has continued to expand on the Surf Florist tradition of excellence.

Business Owner
Norman has been in the flower industry for over 30 years. And before that, he was an avid gardener, growing all kinds of flowers (peonies, lilac, daffodils) and vegetables (potatoes, green beans, cantalopes and others) up in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
