Sixt Rent a Car

Service is a joke. I rent here about twice a month. The people don’t know service. Considering I rent here so much. Somehow every other time I rent I get screwed. And you have to cross a very busy street to get your car. As of next month in done with these people. They say that if you rent several times a year you get discount. Absolutely not true.
Today it’s pouring and they have several people sitting at their desk and no one can get up to help me open the door as the rain is fallen on me.
December 16. Once again I come here bc I don’t have another option until next month and rude as always except for Daniel who helped me and is the first person who didn’t have a chip on their shoulder and and was accommodating. Besides him everyone in this branch has no CUSTOMER service and funny how they also Never have a manager on duty.

Horrific experience with this company. We were promised a Mercedes, but received an Audi A4 that was a «luxury» car in name only. Not only did they bait and switch, but the car had nothing included. It was an AM/​FM radio with no Bluetooth, no navigation, not anything that would qualify it as a «luxury» vehicle. Not only that, it hesitated so badly, it was dangerous. You had to plan on 4 seconds after stepping on the gas for the vehicle to respond. This was after the heavy push to add on additional fees and items like the Sunpass.
To top this experience off, I just received 11 emails with tolls that have $ 5 each added from SIXT as a service charge. These are overhead tolls in Miami where you have no choice but to use the plate reader or rent their ridiculously expensive Sunpass. There are no booths anymore. You are forced to either rent their Sunpass toll transponder or are charged $ 5 each time you pass under the tolls plus pay the tolls. I will be disputing these charges.
If there were a no star rating, I would have given them that.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had renting a vehicle
I placed a month in advance and got the express check in by email but had to wait an hour because my vehicle wasn’t ready. I had to remind and request to get the car seat I paid for after I got the vehicle and they did not hook up the xm radio I paid for. I even called customer service but I still got charged on my bill. They gave me an upgrade voucher for the next time I rent as a result. It was a waste. I’m paying the bill but they lost a customer. The upgrade I’m doing is to another rental service.

The car was good. The add things to the price without telling you. They never call back to assist and clear it up. They also charge you extras like for tolls that cost .59 they charge 5 penalties. Miami charges 2.5 per month they charge 5 per toll. They don’t tell you that CVS sells toll passes in florida and you can use that.

Dropping off at this location is VERY inconvenient.
Drop off is across the street. Makes dealing with luggage an issue.

I rent cars frequently and this place is very deceptive. I chose a premium car and was told that a Chrysler 300 was their top of the line. The women laughed when I said online they have Mercedes, Volvo, and bmw listed. It was easy to get there but there is no way in hell that a Chrysler is considered a premium car. Do not go here and avoid at all costs

I am a regular car rental customer and I have rented cars in many places. This by far is the worst place I have ever gone. If you look at my history you will see I don’t write reviews often so this place had to really suck for me to do this. I get to the rental for a compact car and they give me a mini van !!! I complain they give me a mid size. I requested a compact which I didn’t get. When I proceed to return the car they don’t do the usual procedure where you check the tank and then send me a bill for $ 8 a gallon and claim I was missing 7 gallons. Mind you the tank was full. conclusion, I was improperly charged $ 60 additionally to the $ 60 I paid. Customer service sucks and next time I’m driving to the airport to get my regular car at hertz. They are convenient and open earlier than the other car rentals but it’s not worth the connivence when they can’t give me the car I asked for and want to charge extra for things when I return a car I rented for a day trip. This is another south beach tourist trap.

Excellent costumer service. Renting the car was very quick and easy. Although I didn’t get the car I had rented the one that I got was very nice too. Returning the car was also very quick, I just walked in and left the key in the counter.

Clean, simple, and straight-​forward. The staff and the service were exactly what a car rental service should be. I too hadn’t heard of this company until a french guy introduced me. Their app is fantastic too, btw.

Wir haben trotz sehr kurzfristiger Reservierung noch einen Wagen bekommen und das zunfairen Konditionen. Die Filiale ist gut gelegen und wir erhielten viele nützliche Hinweise für mögliche Ausflugsziele.
Das Smart Cabrio war mit Abstand das kleinste Auto auf der Straße, aber vom Verbrauch her unschlagbar bei den hiesigen Bummelgeschwindigkeiten.
Die Anmietung war wie bei Sixt üblich problemfrei. Einziger kleiner Nachteil ist, das eine Wagenrückgabe außerhalb der Geschäftszeiten nich möglich ist.

I had never heard of Sixt prior to researching car rentals in the Miami area. Apparently, the name Sixt refers to the founding family of this firm, hailing from Germany. Popular in much of the world, the company is now starting to make inroads in the US market, specifically Florida.
All of which was nice to know but the real selling point was that I could walk there from my hotel. Oh and that they had a car available on Thanksgiving.
The online booking process was extremely easy. In a matter of minutes I was able to secure a sedan and schedule the pickup time. On the day of the pickup, I paid, chatted a bit with the staff, could have had a complimentary cup of coffee and was on my merry way.
Of course, I had to fill the tank before returning but that’s not at all difficult since a gas station is nearby.
The return process was also hassle free. There’s a parking lot across the street from the storefront where the rentals are deposited. Leave the car, hand over the keys and that’s all. There wasn’t any inspection and a few hours later I received an email confirming that everything was in order. In fact, while waiting on line as other customers were being helped, another staff member walked by, asked if I was returning the car and expedited my exit.
As for the vehicle, the Chevy Impala was in excellent condition and was a smooth ride. While not as glamorous as the typical SoBe vehicle, the Impala was functional and utilitarian enough as I headed out on Florida’s highway to visit family. After two hours of driving the Impala I entertained impure thoughts of cheating on my car at home…
Based on the ease of rental, efficient staff and smooth ride, Sixt is a welcome addition to the crowded car rental market.

Rent a car in advance and the d-​day, they didnt have the car.
They pretext an issue with the reservation on internet. But I call them before and they confirmed that the car I wanted will be available.
Waste of time. I had to find another solution that put us on late in our trip.

Last Tuesday I rented a car for a day from Sixt at their Miami Beach location for the first and last time. Made a reservation in advance and prepaid. At the scheduled time the car was not ready and had to wait 20 minutes to get it. OK no big deal! They placed a hold in my credit card based on the terms and conditions of the agreement. Fine! When returning the car I asked if someone could drop me off some place nearby but they do not offer that service…
Now here’s the reason I am really upset about. The credit card hold was supposed to be released after 48 hours of returning the car. Instead of releasing the hold on Friday, they placed a new one — each hold they placed was for $ 900 each. So here comes a long weekend with $ 1800 pending charge in my credit card, that I had no clue about until I was purchasing something and this card was declined.
I decided to stop by the location and have them correct their mistake, but since it was a holiday and the new hold was made on a Friday, they told me to wait for another 48 hours to check my card and if the hold is not released to contact them again. A customer rep said she was going to email corp. to request the release, I asked if she could copy me in the email and she said that she could not do that.
So… nobody tried to contact me to apologize, no immediate solution offered and i still have to follow up with the bank to check if the money has been released or not.
Nice way to go Sixt!!!

Rented a Benz C-​class for a day trip to Key West. Pre-​paid option is nice. The website is easy to navigate and staff is helpful over the phone. Booked my car weeks in advance with no issues. Got my ride first thing in the morning. Process took less than 10 mins. Was offered an awesome upgrade deal. Done. It comes with unlimited miles. The tank is already full. Just make sure you refill the tank before dropping it off. WIll definitely go back to Sixt the next time I need a ride. Thanks!

So glad I used these guys. I was hesitant at first, since I’ve never heard of them. I read the previous reviews and decided to give it a shot. I reserved a car, and when I arrived, it was ready for me immediately. It was also a brand new car, so I was happy about that. The staff was extremely friendly. I’ll definitely use them again if I need to rent another car in Miami Beach!

Crappy weather in SoBe so at the last minute, over my scrambled eggs at the Diner I decided to book a car from Sixt on fifth. Filled in all my info while I was working on my hash browns and before I could finish my first cup of joe had a confirmation and a GREAT rate on a rental car… a bit suspicious of car rental companies (honestly what companies seem sleazier than a car rental co.?) Paid my bill walked down to sixt on fifth, no wait, friendly staff, and within minutes I had the car of my dreams… OK, maybe not the car of my dreams, but a decent car at the original great rate. Oh yeah, they even upgraded me since it was my first time at SIXT. Never in my life has renting a car been so easy. Maybe this was a blip and it will be a nightmare on my next visit. One thing’s for sure; there will be a next visit because the experience was awesome! «Awesome» and «car rental»…ever think you’d hear those two (three) words together?

This new company in the Miami area are very professional and their customer service is superb. They took the time to pick me up in downtown Miami and brought me to South Beach to their location. Thank you.

Excellent speedy service, car was brand new and fuel efficient.

Aside from having to wait an hour for them to detail it due to being shorthanded, it was ok. They gave me the luxury car as an upgrade to drive to the Keys with.
