Sean Donaldson Hair

Ever since moving to Miami from Fort Lauderdale I have had the hardest time finding someone I trust to color my blonde hair. I have naturally «dirty blonde» hair and just want a few highlights to brighten it up. The first problem with Miami salons are the prices. $ 250+ for a simple highlight and blowfly (no cut) is pretty pricey. Ok, so I can get over that but I at least expect to be happy with my color after dishing out all that $$$. I’ve tried 3 different colonists in Miami before stumbling upon Sean Donaldson salon on Unilocal.Specifically, Erica is the absolute best! I trusted the other Unilocalers’ reviews and am so happy that I did. She has made my hair look unbelievably natural and I could not be happier with the results. I’ve already been to her twice and will definitely continue to use her as long as I am living in Miami. She is so flexible when it comes to appointments (works on Sunday’s– awesome) and is so so sweet too. I actually look forward to getting my hair done by Erica because she is worth every penny. The girls who have washed my hair were great too. Really happy I found this salon and especially happy to have found Erica!

I should have written this review last month but only had the time right now. My regular salon (Oribe) canceled on me at the VERY last minute and to make matters worse I was traveling two days later and my hair looked terrible. I had heard and read many AMAZING things about this salon I called the Sean Donaldson salon and asked for an appointment it was a saturday and they were obviously very busy but the front desk girl was WONDERFUL so nice, understanding and accommodating. I asked to see Peter (heard about him here on Unilocal) for color and anyone for cut. She told me Peter was fully booked but that I could see someone else. I booked the appointment and she called me back to say she was able to fit me in with Peter and Meddy for a cut. I feel so lucky to have been able to see these two TALENTED professionals. Peter is a color god I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he was able to adjust the blonde to the perfect shade to fit my skintone. He was a WONDERFUL professional and I haven’t loved my color in a really long time. Meddy was on another level I did a long bob with layers and boy does he know his way with the scissors. My hair has not looked this well cut in years. I have very thin hair and his cut have my hair the perfect volume the blowout was wonderful. I always say the test to a good haircut is when you blow-​dry it at home and it looks good. Well my hair is looking fabulous and I have been getting constant compliments on my cut and color. Sean Donaldson salon is my new go to place. The best thing that could have happened was to have my other salon cancel on me!

Having moved back to Miami, I needed to find a new hairstylist and color specialist. I called Sean Donaldson salon because of the number of good reviews. I am SO happy to have met Rene for a haircut and Erica for color. Rene did a superb job adding lots of volume to my long hair and Erica was absolutely amazing correcting a semi permanent hair color that left my hair looking too dark and uneven. Erica just knew what to do and I’m just thrilled with my hair color is back to my natural shade of brown but much better and natural looking. I highly recommend this place!

I am so happy I found this salon! Upon arrival, sitting in the waiting area you can’t help but notice all the people checking out with great cuts and color and smiles on their faces. Friendly staff, great location, reasonable prices, non pretentious. I found Natalie and Erica to be amazing with color. I found my home away from home when in South Florida.

Do yourself a favor and go see Cary. She’s talented, listens and is like a wizard with scissors. I have super long hair and she always listens and doesn’t over cut when i ask for a trim. she also knows how to cut it in a way that gives it more life and movement instead of just hanging there like really long hair often does. I recently saw her for color too and I am so happy I did! There are so many different hues and tones that it looks so healthy and vibrant! Just tell her what you like and trust that she’ll make it happen :)

The best place for a haircut in Miami. Hands down. Keith is absolutely phenomenal! The entire staff is great from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave provide a top notch experience.

I came to Miami for a vacation and it was so hot, I had to get a haircut. I scheduled an appointment with a hair dresser I didn’t know. The whole experience exceeded my expectations, starting with the warm welcome. The space was large and organized, my hairdresser was Meddy and he was very kind, professional, and funny.
Love my new haircut!

I was having a manicure when the manicurist’s hand slipped and she knocked over a bottle of red nail polish. The polish spilled all over my new leather handbag, which was next to me on the seat space below her table top. The manicurist took an attitude and stated «YOUR PURSE SHOULDN’T HAVE BEEN THERE!»…as if it was my fault! I could not believe what I heard.
When I asked for something to quickly wipe off the polish, the manicurist attitude sucked… she said she had another customer waiting. Effectively, I was on my own! She ignored what she had caused and continued to rush through to finish my nails. I had to sit there with my right hand trying to clean off the purse, while the manicurist continued to polish my left hand, ignoring the damage she had just caused on my cream colored bag… I was working feverishly trying to remove the red polish from being permanent, if possible, with one hand.
I spoke to the two people at the front desk informing them of what had just happened. I asked that someone come and give me a hand. One came right away, sat next to me, for about two minutes trying to get the polish off the handbag, and then left to go back to the desk because she said they were busy! She ignored me and did not return.
I am very calm and easy going but I was appalled that I was left to fend for myself trying to mitigate the damage, and by the attitudes displayed by the employees.
Before leaving I asked for the names of the two front desk people and the owner of the salon.
I asked that they contact the owner while I was there. She was identified as Dianne R. (last name withheld)
She was not available.
Over the next period of time, I tried to contact Dianne, which was difficult. She eventually responded and acknowledged the issue and damages. Dianne told me to submit my receipt for the new bag and she would either compensate me or turn the claim over to her insurance.
I have her voice mail on my phone acknowledging this. I volunteered to give Sean Donaldson or the insurance company the damaged bag. It seems she decided that she no longer wanted to put a claim in, and when she realized the cost of the bag didn’t want to compensate me out of the business either. She immediately stopped taking my calls and responding to my messages.
I have given «Sean Donaldson» every opportunity to rectify this situation and the damages caused by their negligence. I have been very patient.

I see Frederik for color and Rene for cut. I have so very very happy with both. I lived in LA for 3 years and did not find anyone that compared to them. I have chin length straight hair and Rene cuts it in a sexy layered look that I love. I am aslo 56 and Frederick gives me a natural blond look. I get many compliments on both the cut and color.
My 17 year old daughter also goes to both of them and loves them. She is an actress so very picky about her hair. Frederick was even able to take her from a dark dark brown back to her natural blond which was amazing! Her layered cut adds a chicness to her long hair.
Highly recommend both.

This review is in regards to Rubina the esthetician at Sean Donaldson Hair. I just had my fourth facial with her. I can honestly say I’ve never experienced such an incredible facial. Rubina is amazing at what she does; she is not pushy when it comes to recommending products which is so nice!!! I recommend the 90 minute facial; she takes her time with extractions and follows up with masks, serums and the best part THE OXYGEN. She also gives a killer wax! They’re currently running a summer special 90 minute facial with complimentary OXYGEN and BROW WAX!!! Go check her out I’m sure you’ll love her.

So, I am a hairy, gay bear — however, I am a bear of refined tastes, (if I may say so myself). I have a hairy torso. My chest, back and shoulders are covered with hair. So, it takes a real artist to wax me clean and not irritate my skin. I moved here from Los Angeles, where I had the best waxer ever. I really didn’t think it would be so difficult to find a great waxer in Miami, but guess what? It WAS! I went to 6 different places before the lady who lives in the Penthouse of my building recommended Sean Donaldson Salon to me as we were riding up in the elevator one day. I thank the Gods for that elevator ride! I went to Sean Donaldson and they gave me to Rubina. Rubina gives great wax! I go every two weeks and she leaves me soft, smooth and NOT IRRITATED! She is my little waxing angel. She also gives great facials. And she’s a doll. Thank you Sean Donaldson for Rubina!

Nikki is probably the best stylist in Miami right now. The fact that her peers agree is a pretty good sign, too. I started seeing Nikki about ten years ago on a recommendation from a top NYC stylist and I’ve never looked back. I drive 45 minutes for the best cut in town and it’s way worth it.

This is hands-​down the best salon in South Beach (and possibly, beyond). I get my hair highlighted and cut by the owner, Sean, who is an absolute dream! He is incredibly talented and detail-​oriented when it comes to finding the perfect color and hairstyle to suit each individual’s needs.
Everyone from the receptionist to the assistants are professional, friendly and provide excellent service. While it is one of the pricier salons I’ve been to, it is well worth every single penny.

I just got my first haircut at the salon. And I LOVED it.
The attention was impeccable from the moment I got there. Macie, the hair stylist I had the appointment with, was as sweet as can be. And gotta point out the obvious: she’s absolutely gorgeous (don’t know if you feel the same as I, but if I’m gonna sit on a chair with someone next to me for an hour, it’s a plus if that person is beautiful… just saying).
Actually, mant of the people who work there are beautiful, sweet people. Or so I could see. :)
Anyway! Macie was perfect. Friendly, sweet, wonderful hands and she knows what she’s doing.
Last but not least, I went in with the 20% discount for the first check-​in: I think it’s a very smart thing to do, since it’s not the cheapest place. It got me trying it, and I’m so happy with the whole experience, I’m ready to go back for the full price. :)

PS: gotta give a shoutout to the woman who washed my hair as well. The head massage was incredible!

My absolute favorite Salon! I started going here due to reviews I had read. I was wanting to lighten my hair and read that Erica was a whiz at color. I went in for a consultation and there was no turning back. Erica is the only person I will ever let color my hair! She’s unreal. The salon has incredible service as well.

Peter is a real master colorist! His red lasts me over 5 weeks which is unheard of. Love him!

Rubina is the best eyebrow waxer I have ever been to! She does my eyebrows perfectly and I always leave ecstatic! Alex trimmed and blowdried my hair and was fantastic! I got compliments left and right on how great my hair looked. I’ll definitely be back to see both of them again in the future!

this place MAY be good for hair (can’t vouch for that) BUT it should definitely NOT promote NAILS! Horrible service.
