Meet the Business Owner
Michael P.
Business Owner
Chef Michael Pirolo was born in NYC but raised in Italy. He learned an appreciation for food & cooking at early age from his family. At the age of 21, Michael enrolled in I.C.I.F., in Torino, Italy & from there he went on to apprentice at famed, Michelin rated establishments: La Voglia Matta, in Bologna, and Café Groppi, in Piemonte.
Back in the US in 2007 Michael met Scott Conant, who was consulting on a project in the Hamptons Michael became attached to. After working side-by-side, and developing a mutual respect for one another, at season’s end Michael joined Scott as Co-Chef de Cuisine at Scarpetta, NYC & went on to open Scarpetta Miami at the Fountainebleu where he achieved critical acclaim before leaving to open his own restaurant, Macchialina in 2012.
