Grooming Loft

My experience here was not the best. I have a long-​haired cat and usually get her groomed once a year before summer. Her usual groomer had relocated. On the plus side, grooming loft was able to make an appointment on short notice. I gave specific instructions on how I wanted her cut. They neglected most of my requests and did it their own way. When I got home, I noticed they forgot to put Fluffy’s collar back on. I called and they said they’d send the mobile unit to drop it off at my apartment. He never showed up. I called the next day and they said there was no parking (which is not true. There are plenty of spaces for delivery around my place). The guy on the phone then promised to drop it off within the week. A week later I called back and they had no idea what I was talking about. I ended up driving and getting the collar back myself. They have a huge box full of collars that they forgot to put back on! After digging through the box, I found her collar, but this type of service is completely unacceptable.

I won’t go back here, I had a Persian cat I use to get shaved here for a few years. Then one time the nail was cut bad and I called about it and ended up taking her to the vet. I brought her back another time and afterwards they charged me afterwards and extra $ 40 for cutting her mats they said, which they didn’t tell me before. She looks up my record and they completely deleted the last time I was there regarding the nail situation, I guess they were scared of being sued. Needless to say I have a french bulldog now and she won’t go there. They lost a customers for good

My fiancé and I just bought a second home in Miami and were visiting there last weekend with our 6 year old Maltese/​Yorkie mix. I decided to have him groomed before our flight home and dropped him off at the Grooming Lost for their «bath only» service after Google searching for a place nearby. There is absolutely no sign on the front door or awning so we drove around for several minutes looking for it. I called numerous time but no one answered the phone.
When I finally arrived, the girl at the front desk seemed friendly and told me that our dog would be ready in two hours or less. She explained that she would call me as soon as he was ready to be picked up. After two hours I had not heard from her. I called several times and once again no one answered the phone, so I decided to head over there and check on him. When I walked in, the radio in the back grooming room was turned up loudly so she did not hear me come in. From the front desk I could see directly what was going on in the grooming room and I was shocked. She had my dog gripped very tightly (even though he was tied up and couldn’t go anywhere) and was literally screaming at him to be still. I stood there and watched for about 30 seconds more while she continued to yell at him until I couldn’t take it anymore. I asked her what she was doing and she turned around and jumped and told me I had scared her (obviously because she was doing something terribly wrong. She stared rambling about how well behaved he had been and there had been no issues. Then she told she had cut one of his nails too short and his foot was covered in blood. She claimed it was «no big deal» and «happens all the time.» I was furious but didn’t say anything to her. I just wanted to pay, get my dog, and get out of there.
When I went to pay she charged me an additional $ 10 because he was «matted.» This is not the case because he had literally been groomed 9 days before when we left for our trip and I brush him everyday. Then she actually had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to add a tip!!! My dog is 6 years old, 12 pounds, and very well behaved. He travels frequently, is consistently around children and other dogs, and has never once had an issue with a groomer. I am furious that she felt the need to yell at him and be aggressive. If he wasn’t sitting still I assure you that there was no need yell at him or be rough. Aren’t dog groomers trained and experienced at how to handle dogs properly? I am just happy I walked in when I did. I would NOT recommend this place to ANYONE.

Hands down, this is the best place to take your pet! Ours is not only beautiful and oh so clean, but most important of all she is happy going here. Our sweet fur baby is terrified of every other place we’ve taken her. Grooming Loft is the only exception. We couldn’t be happier with the kind service and overall great environment there. Thank you for taking such good care of our puppy!

Everyone was very accommodating and caring to my Lola. My doggy doesn’t like to get haircuts but she was pretty calm when I picked her up and looked like a real lady. I will definitely return for more haircuts

I would not recommend this place to anybody! The service is very disappointing and the management is unfortunately horrendous. They take forever to provide a service that takes other businesses much shorter of duration therefore you can just imagine what your pet is doing in the meantime, they sadly don’t treat the animals with utmost care, and the prices aren’t worth what you pay for. Even if you have a coupon, save your money and put it elsewhere. If you care about your fur babies then I’d highly recommend looking elsewhere!

My bf has been bringing pup here for years. Lemme tell you– he practically puts dresses on this pup… for sure he loves this dog more than he cares for most people!!! So he has high standards for her care. He loves these folks. He/​we travel lots, so he’s really relied on their great service. I’m not an expert, but their prices seem to be very reasonable, especially relative to general prices for goods and services around the Beach.
I’ve only actually been in once to collect pup, and was impressed with the detailed report I was given about her behavior. They also noticed that she wasn’t digging her food and gave us several samples of foods to try… very cool.
They sometimes bring her home at night since she’s so easy… I don’t need to tell you how much more he loves them for that. The services are great with respect to grooming and I think this joint will even deliver your puppy home if arranged.

This is my second time taking my 5 month old shichon puppy Cody and I am very satisfied. He looks so adorable when I pick him up and everyone is very friendly and nice. I called on Saturday and the earliest appointment I could make was for Wednesday morning so make sure you call ahead. Dropped him off at 9 and he was ready by 1pm!

I have been going to the Grooming Loft since I moved to Lincoln Road a few months ago and Kent has not had a bad haircut since. I am so grateful to have a professional groomer two blocks from my apartment. They do an exceptional job each and every time that we go in which is about every three to four weeks.
Although Kent is not thrilled to go (he never likes going to groomers or vets), I am and he looks amazing each and every time! If you need a great groomer, I say run over to The Grooming Loft!

I recommend the Grooming Loft to everyone who loves their little monster’s!
I’ve been here three times and each time I appreciate this place & workers, more and more.
Appointments are easy to book, even on short notice! If you don’t have transportation they will pick up & drop off your loved ones.
The ladies running the show are naturals. When they talk to my Sasha, they speak to her like she’s a child… I love it!
In the past I took her to groomers/​vets where they injected her with some type of calming medicine. NOT the grooming loft! They think she’s a good girl??? Sasha attacks me if I try to brush her! So miracles do happen!
The grooming loft is extremely clean and organized. Price’s are reasonable regardless you can’t put a price on beauty! I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.

I couldn’t be happier with The Grooming Loft. We have a 6 year old Shih Tzu who lights up when we bring her in. They are friendly, accommodating and most importantly take very good care of my dog. I recently went somewhere that was a bit closer to my house to have my dog groomed and it was a disaster. I embarrassedly called Grooming Loft to tell them what I had done and they were amazing. They fit Chloe in first thing the next morning and made her look perfect, like they always do… I won’t make that mistake again. Saving some time in the car is not as important as making sure my dog is happy, safe and looking beautiful. Not to mention that wherever and whenever I take my dog anywhere I get compliments on how great her haircut is!

I have to agree with Francina. The prices are fair and the grooming is good but they take FOREVER!
I called on Saturday to make an appt for my 8lb shorkie and the receptionist told me to bring him in on Tuesday any time between 8am and noon. I took him in at 10. She told me she would call me when he was ready, but if they don’t call to give them a call because sometimes they get busy and forget.
So I had a lot to do today. Ran some errands in downtown. Around 1:30 when they still hadn’t called, I decided to get my nails done at a place a few blocks away since I wanted to stay in the area (Blush Nail Lounge… please see my review). Right as she was finishing up my manicure around 3:30, I called The Grooming Loft to see if my dog was ready. I even apologized for not calling sooner because I was sure he was done by then. Her response, «Oh Louis is next in line with the groomer. She said he will be done in about half an hour.» Next in line?! I dropped him off at 10am! It’s almost 4 o’clock.
I went in and waited for him and the place smelled terrible. It did NOT smell like that when I dropped him off. My guess is all of those dogs have been sitting in the kennels in the back for 6 hours and are probably crapping in them.
She was finished with my boy at right around 4 o’clock. My issue with this is that either A) They wash and blowdry and clean ears and all of that first. Then put them in the kennel and they pull them out one by one to groom them or B) They just wash them and cut them. I say this because there is no way she could do a full groom (wash, dry, nails, anal glands, ears, teeth, and cut) in 30 min. So she either did it all and then came back to groom later which obviously isn’t very time efficient. Or she didn’t do half of what she was supposed to do.
My second problem was that they never asked me for his shot record which I brought with me because I assumed they would. I take comfort in knowing that places check for things like that because then I know that the safety of the animals is being taken into account. I was very disappointed that they didn’t ask.
I give them a 3 because like Francina said, my pup looks great. But 6 hours is ridiculous

I hate to leave a less than stellar review since I do think their groomers are extremely talented and the staff is nice but I have to be absolutely honest… I’ve been taking my dog here since it was called Alton Road Groomers, when Norman was running the show, and before it got posh. The location is convenient for me b/​c I don’t really drive, their prices are very fair, and most importantly my dog always looks adorable when I pick her up! However, (and this is why I rate it 3 stars as opposed to 5) they work way too slow! To be fair to them, I don’t always schedule an appointment in advance, sometimes I call the day of to see if they have an opening, but even when I do have an appointment and I drop off my dog at 8 or 8:30AM,(they open at 8), I don’t get her back until 2 or 3pm! I try to rationalize that I’d rather they take their time and do a great job than rush and send her out with a bald spot (or worse, an injury!), but 6 or 7 hours to groom a 4 ½ lb dog is excessive! At first I though the New Yorker in me was being impatient, but even my old school, laid back Miami-​an neighbor thought they took too long. She took her dog there once, upon my recommendation, and never again! What is even more aggravating is that although they say that they’ll call when the dog’s ready, they don’t! After she’s been there for 6+ hrs, I finally call to get a progress report only to hear that she’s ready. I don’t get it! And trust me, I’ve verified that they have my correct phone number on multiple occasions!
Although they are the most convenient groomer for me and I love the end result, I’ve resorted to taking my dog to Petsmart in Aventura. On their slow days/​times I can be in and out in 35 minutes tops, guaranteed! In the end, my dog may look chicer after a trip to the Grooming Loft, but at least when I go to Petsmart I can make plans for rest of my day instead of waiting for the call that never comes.
