Last night I arrived on a Friday night at 7:00PM. I was waited on promptly. The place was small but appeared clean. I ordered the steak sandwich churrasco. The meat was cold and dried out. It was not cooked to order. The bread was suppose to be Cuban but was not the traditional light fluffy bread that I know. Instead it was a yellow color and stale. The onion’s were translucent and the cheese was barely melted. I asked for the manager. The staff said their was no manager or supervisor. I politely told the waitress the food was unacceptable. I paid for my drink and gave a tip and left. It was not my waitress fault. This place is a distaster. Remember this is a Friday night on Miami Beach. The place only had two other people there. I think it’s because the food is poorly prepared.

I ordered the ochocinco which was $ 15. It was very good, the only thing that I would say and it’s kind of hard to explain because the dish did taste very good, but every bite of rice tastes like butter! Which is the only thing that was a turn off. The white rice was filled with egg which is def how I like it but maybe they fried the egg in a ton of butter and added the rice on top of it and all that butter just mixed in. Along with the very well seasoned chicken, that too just seemed to be covered in butter or oil or whatever it is. So aside from the great flavored it was a little too much saturated fat for my taste buds.

I wanted to try out an authentic Cuban sandwich since I’m in Miami. The sand which was delicious. The bread wasn’t too hard and had a nice crunch to it. The pork was juicy and flavorful. I also got a pastellio de carne and a coffee. I swear I can eat like 8 of those pastellios. Super flavorful. The coffee was also pretty good and it woke me up after my long drive. I would definitely eat here again

Great Cuban breakfast! Quick service with a smile, pretty much all of the combos were $ 7.95 besides the only thing that I wanted which was the eggs and steak that was $ 16. A little more expansive than what’s I’m used to $ 7-$ 9, but other than that, it’s a good place to have a quick breakfast or catch up with friends.

I ordered from Davids three times, this time I am beyond disappointed. NEVERGOTDELIVERYNOREXPLANATION! I call to ask where my food is and a woman picks up, I tell her that I have been waiting for a while and she hangs up on me. I tried to call them for a full 30 min after that and the phone is off the hook. They care very little about customer service evidently which is disappointing because they food is good. OHBTW the food never arrived, I got no call alerting me and they stopped picking up the phone!!!

I’ve never had a good experience here despite the many good reviews I’ve heard from friends. First time I got sick because they don’t throw away food that’s been sitting around for hours — they serve it to you. I really want to like their overpriced cortadito but they never make it fresh and who knows when their last batch of coffee was poured. So bland I took one sip and tossed it. Empanadas are OK nothing to write home about. Third time is not the charm apparently.

Great Cuban food. If I lived in Miami I would probably eat from Davids 3 times a week. Very flavorful food, good Café con Leche, and rice and beans that make you wish you lived in Havana. I ordered the Vaca Frita(my go-to cuban dish) and was not disappointed at all. It was cooked perfectly, which is difficult because it requires keeping the meat juicy and moist, but with almost a hard outer crust. In sum, its a great little Cuban place. Friendly staff, good food and good coffee. What more can you ask for? It is not a 5-star place because there was really no wow-factor, its just great food. Which is really all you need in a restaurant.

We were in Fort Lauderdale and made the trip to Miami while we were in Florida. Searched on Unilocal and found this little Cuban spot. I ordered the Churrasco which came with a side of rice/beans and platano. Meat was so flavorful and tender. So good! I would definitely come back here next time I’m in Miami. We came on a weekday evening and service was good.

This is was the meeting point and first stop on my south beach food tour a week ago. I went with the cortadito and guava pastries. The pastries are to die for. Fresh, sweet and delicious. Plenty of seating and speedy service. You can take your time and hang around and no one will bother you. I can’t really comment on the prices since the food I had was included in the price of the tour. I will definitely be returning when I come back to Miami.

If your looking for a classic Cuban meal for breakfast lunch or dinner, David’s is the place! Café con Leche is great, low reasonable prices, did not have to wait on New Year’s Eve at 11:30am, and food comes out pretty quick. Defiantly a place to go if visiting Miami and want some great Cuban food. Took tostonas to go!

Had the Cuban breakfast which was a solid plate of rice, plantains, and two fried eggs. It’s not a bad start to your day and goes well with the vinegary hot sauce at the table. I sort of wish it came with bacon, but i could have just ordered some on the side.

I heard about this place from my host and enjoyed it so much! This little place is very interesting and everyone is so welcoming! I ordered Cuban breakfast including Cuban toasts, café con leche, fried eggs and rice and sweet plantain. I mixed eggs, rice with plantain and it tasted really good! Café con leche is just what I love! I tasted milk and coffee separately but yet the flavor was together! It’s sweeter than what I had before. Definitely recommend for those who look for desayuno Cubano!

My favorite Cuban spot in Miami is back. After years of shutting down, the new location is located about 2 miles from Sobe. Freshly Squeeze OJ is always a win! Everything here is wonderful but my personal favorite is the«Ocho Cinco». Grilled chicken breast with grilled onions, rice with scrambled eggs & platanos maduros.

After a long day of not eating much, the dark and balmy quiet walk down Alton road in the less obnoxious western side of South Beach gave way to David’s cafecito. It’s look was familiar to its former South Beach central location, but now more like a true diner. Solo diners contentedly imbibed inside as I slide to the service window, where a patron chatted in Spanish after signing his check, both leisurely unbothered by my presence, as I leaned handsomely forlorn against the cement ledge. Minutes passed with no rush as una señorita solicited my request — a menu. My sort of bad Spanish was good enough until I had to ask for Garlic sauce, she had to get the English speaking employee to help. I went straight to my favorite light dessert — maduros, and since I was being bad — an alfajores. David’s food is good, posing as lousy diner — don’t be fooled, this is solid. The maduros for $ 3.50 were piping hot, sweet and large, if just a little greasy. The alfajores was dense and moist with just the perfect amount of chalkiness, lightly filled with chocolate. I was stoked to find that David’s Cuban sandwiches were perfect years ago at the old location. Now you can dine with locals, less neon and noise, and still enjoy Cuban style on south beach.

It is truly a shame that we did not have more time in Miami Beach because we would have kept coming here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Miami has the best Cuban food, and David’s Café is one that proves you don’t have to break the budget to get authentic and tasty island cuisine. On our last day of vacation, we dropped by here at night after already being tipsy with two suppers in. None of that mattered because we wanted to make our last meal a great Cuban feast, and David’s truly sealed the deal. Everything we wanted came with a delicious helping of plantains and cilantro sauce. Our pollo was grilled to perfection and perfectly tender, and our steak was absolutely on point with juices flowing. Each of our plates was easily shared between 2 – 3 people, and we all left with big smiles and full tummies. They close right at 10, and the servers even teased some folks that tried coming in at 9:59 to order some food. Gotta get in early before they close shop yo. Next time I’m in Miami Beach, I am definitely stopping by here again, even if it’s a bit«out of the way» from a lot of the major tourist parts. That must be how they are able to keep their prices very affordable.

When in Miami Beach you MUST stop in for great food and coffee. We had the Gallegan Style lamb which is served with Moros(beans&rice), potatoes, and sweet plantains. At $ 11, it’s a bargain. Even the most hungry visitors would be hard pressed it finish this dish. The Roasted Port with Moros and Cassava(yucca) was very good. The meat was tensor and the yucca just melts in your mouth. The OchoCinco special is a not to the football star that frequents the place often and is a great breakfast/brunch dish containing a gut filling egg and rice dish. However, while the food was awesome, the highlight is the Cuban coffee. The café con leche is a yummy, sweet latte that is down right addicting. The expresso is also the best I’ve ever had(truly the best). Totally recommend you stop in and check this place out. Review Update: Left our credit card here and didn’t realize until the next day. Called and our super friendly waiter(Sammy) remembered us and had our credit card. He said he had run after us after we left but couldn’t find us to return it. He offered to mail it to us — always going the extra mile. Kudos to Sammy for exceptional service during and after our visit

I’ve always remembered my first Dave’s café experience from 3 years ago when they were close to the Dream Hotel. As soon as I landed I told my co worker that we need to grab dinner from here. Found out the original restaurant had closed but thankfully they reopened in another part of town. Still the best grilled chicken and cuban bread that i’ve ever had.

Great service. Big portions. The Café con Leche is addictive!!! The breakfast burrito is humongous and comes with a side of crispy, fried potato. Loved the casual vibe and friendly staff.

Just when you thought David’s Café had deserted South Beach without a second thought, they’ve opened their latest outpost — David’s Café Cafecito in the former Yoko’s location. Conveniently located in a little shopping plaza on Alton Road at 9th Street, the latest iteration has la ventana that you forgot you missed, as well as ample seating(tables and at the counter). There’s also free(!) parking available. Talk about a great location! Offering up the Cuban staples you know and love, Cafecito is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between. I stopped in over the weekend for breakfast and indulged in an $ 8 plate which included eggs any style, choice of grits or potatoes, bacon or sausage, coffee(a bit more for cortadito, but a small price to pay), and of course, tostada. Mmmm! Everything was great, and I can definitely see Cafecito becoming a regular stop for me for coffee cravings or weekend breakfast. Plus, they serve breakfast all day! I didn’t have a chance to check out the lunch/dinner menu, but I know it includes staples like vaca frita, as well as specials like arroz con pollo. I will definitely be back to check it out. They’re still getting their grand opening kinks out, but I’m so happy David’s Café is back on South Beach, and only a short walk from my house! Welcome to the neighborhood!
