this place has a great concept but needs to get their act together ASAP. the whole system of how one gets there deliciously incredible grilled cheese is seriously flawed. now dont get me wrong, i just about had the best grilled cheese that i have ever devoured in my life, but left that place paying 17 dollars for a sandwich and a beer… something isnt right here. so you spend about 8 dollars on just your own choice of bread and cheese, and then you rack up the bill with just about everything you put on it. 4 dollars here, 2 dollars there, 3 dollars for avocado… what the hell?!! not to mention, two slices of cheese and whatever bread should not be priced at 8 dollars! the joint is also in a kitchen, its super hot, the service is slow, and you have to use the bathroom of some boom boom miami beach club that i cant even pronounce the name of. unfortunately i wouldnt see myself going there again. however, i did have the best damn kobe beef grilled cheese in the world.

The grilled cheese are delicious but completely and totally overpriced. Four of us went and spent $ 73 for 4 sodas, 4 sandwiches, and 2 fries. That’s ridiculous. Will I ever go back? No way! Too bad because my gruyère with bacon was perfectly toasty and cheesy. Skip the fries, they were nothing out of the ordinary.

When you hear about the concept behind Cheesme, how can you NOT be utterly excited to go? All you have to say is, «Hey, there’s a new Make-Your-Own-Grilled-Cheese-Sandwich place on the beach…» to any one of my friends and you can see their eyes get bigger and bigger with anticipation. Cheesme is a great idea. A great idea backed up by the fact that they stay open until 5 in the morning and have many many types of french fries to supplement your custom sandwich. One of my friends actually told the guy running the place at the time, «Yo, I had this idea when I was 15!» The execution is where it lacks, unfortunately. It was their soft launch weekend, so I’ll forgive the lack of some ingredients and slow service. The price on the other hand, is close to unforgivable. I ordered one of the more simpler items on the menu: The American. This comprises of Texas Toast bread and American cheese, which comes with a tomato soup. Well, they didn’t have the soup, but I still paid about $ 8.00 for bread and cheese. Tasty bread and cheese, nonetheless, but, ehh. Your average meal will start a $ 8 and go up from there, so don’t expect to just whip out a couple of crumpled dollar bills after staggering in from the club. Pick one bread and one cheese and pay $ 8. Add a meat to it, and it’ll be another extra $ 4-$ 8. French fries are $ 5. For a late night meal, I don’t feel there should be a need to cringe at your bill. At this point, I have to say… Pizza Rustica still owns my late-night heart. Some quick tips: * At least for now, you might have a free entrance to Fierce Angels, the club that Cheesme is connected to. You’ll have to use the club’s bathroom if you need to pee. * They serve beer, not sure about liquor * Cheesme’s attractively delicious yet unattractively pricey menu:

No doubt the sandwiches here at Cheesme are delicious. I had the«Euro» a toasted crescent sandwich with mozzarella cheese, prosciutto and tomato that is making my mouth water just writing about it. But I still racked up $ 17 bill on a sandwich, bottle of water and tip! The seating for us were just ottomans on the floor, rather uncomfortable. Air conditioning seemed to not exist. The cooking of food was a bit slow too. All Logistics that will probably be fixed in the long term if they place stays open long enough. The place is behind the club Furious Angels and if your smart, you could get in for free through the back by going to use the bathroom. The idea is good but the price is just a bit unreasonable. The location isn’t great. Basically it was to much of a hassle. The food is delicious but I won’t go out of my way to go for it.

I have un cheesme for you: your cure for a hangover is in the club… well, really, in the back of it. To be specific, the back kitchen of the defunct Hed Kandi, now Fierce Angels-who greenlighted that name is beyond me. Don’t be fooled by their Speakeasy look– side door entrance and lack of signage. This little piece of grilled cheese heaven is quite cheesy… in the good way. The concept alone is genius: a grilled cheese paradise open til 5am in one of the busiest streets in SoBe. You can also make your own grilled cheese, have a salad or. You can also pick from the already-made sandwiches like the always delicious Croque Monsieur, Monte Cristo, the Dagwood, BCT-applewood smoked bacon, cheese and tomato, Kobe beef and fontina with caramelized onions, goat cheese apples and figs, and many more. You can also get delicious french fries, yuca, or my favorite of all time, sweet potato fries. I recommend dipping them in their house-made ranch dressing… Their prices range from $ 8-$ 14 on the sandwiches and your custom orders are priced depending on the ingredients you choose. The space is quite small so you might just order to go since they only have a small counter that sits 5. Randy, the chef hailing from Philly is very cool and friendly. They told us that they are thinking of getting a wall to separate them from the club and their techno cacophony… Cheesme just opened 2 days ago and they have very limited staff so I am thinking that as the weekend hits, they will wise up and hire some kitchen help because I can’t imagine inhibriated hungry patrons waiting 15 minutes for their grub… chaos, I tell you. They also didn’t have many things that were on the menu but hope they get their act together come Friday night… There is lots of potential in this place and I hope they reach it. All in all, if you’ve danced the night away and find yourself hungry for something more comforting than a slice pizza and need to get that fix, head over to the cheesiest, most hidden, piece of cheesme to hit South Beach… for now, that is.
