Just like Rob said, this store has serious personality issues among many of its employees. I always dread having to go to this store, because I know that if I need help with anything, I’m either going to find that there’s no help to be had, or I’m going to have to get a taste of someone’s bad attitude. On the phone today, I was on hold for 15min after adding a simple question,“do you have long neck funnels”, and then got hung up on Last time I was there, I was accused of trying to cheat the store on a return, I had purchased a bunch of spark plug sockets, to eliminate the chance of getting the wrong one, and they didn’t have the 18 mm I needed. When I made the original purchase, I was promised I could return them no problem. When I tried to return them, they said, «no returns». Basically, decent selection, side from anything marine or automotive, but mostly horrible service. There seems to be two or three guys here that are holding it all together

It’s a great store with lots of interesting gifts, etc in addition to hardware. However, absolutely the rudest, unhelpful staff I’ve come in contain with in Miami and I asked 3 people for help. What a shame because otherwise it’s a nice, interesting store.

i used to feel bad about large stores like Home Depot talking over the neighborhood little guys like Ace. Ace is close to where i live and i would go there even though the prices were higher and they didn’t have enough friendly sales associates like Home Depot has. Bust never again. This morning the cashier was mad at teh world, in a bad mood yelling at her computer when i walked in, made me wait 10 minutes before she paged someone to bring me a propane refill, then refused to take my Ace Hardward membership card. She actually rang me up without asking for it and when i presented it old me «You should have known better and given it to me first.» I will never go there again and I will gladly drive the extra distance to go to Home Depot where the people are extremely nice and knowledgeable and where you can bet they don’t have crappy, negative, I don’t care attitudes like this little troll at Ace!

I used to frequent this Ace Hardware location on 41st street when I lived in the area. They fulfilled all my key-copying needs, and the friendly staff was always eager to help me find whatever I was in dire need of at the time. It’s open 7 days a week, and doesn’t close till later than most on weeknights. They also have a huge selection of candles and other random merchandise. And there’s a huge parking lot in the back(and a back entrance!). I’ll probably still go even though I moved out of the neighborhood!
