Open for lunch 11 — 3 only, tuesday through sunday. This is a locals secret, off the lobby of a nice building in bal harbour. The big specialty here is french toast that are covered with crunchy corn flakes… At one point in the 80’s, this dish was a micro-regional specialty, served in all the building coffee shops up and down collins avenue, but this is the last place i know that still makes these. These are best with bacon, or even better, their excellent ham. You have to bring your own maple syrup, they have aunt jemima’s. They also make a good salmon salad, and are very accomodating of special requests. Very reasonable prices: not fancy, but nice view of the pool, and whatever else, the feeling is authentic and 20th century.
