Razor Sharp Barber Shop

Great place. Made an appointment, got there on time and the barber was ready. They take their time (over 30 minutes, so plan to be there for a bit), make sure everything is as you wish and are very respectful. Cool spot, spacious, clean, with a movie playing on the tv wall so you can sit back and chill as they cut your hair. Had been looking for a good place in this area for a while and mostly found average to very poor places. This is one I’ll keep in mind and revisit.

Hands Down! Best full service barber shop I’ve ever been to! I went in as a walk in on a Thursday afternoon, no wait. Mike took care of me and I couldn’t believe how good his service was. I ended up opting for the hair cut, beard trim and straight razor shave. Never have I had someone take their time and be so meticulous. And it wasn’t just Mike, everyone was taking their time with their clients. Don’t expect a 5 – 10 minute haircut, Folks. This job was over an hour. Well worth every dollar and minute. The atmosphere inside the shop is laid back and comfortable. Very inviting. If you’re looking for a place that you can trust to shape up your beard and leave you feeling fresh, RSBS it is! Update: I made an online appointment with a barber approximately 3 days prior to the date. The day before, I got notification that the appointment was cancelled. I received no call or text to follow up with the cancellation. That’s poor service in my book. It’s a shame being that there are very skilled barbers here. I didn’t follow up because I was a little disgusted at the level of customer service.
I’m reluctant to try to come back here because of what happened this time, especially because it’s a 45 minute ride for me.

Very chill place for a haircut in NJ. This is my 3^rd time going, each time I’ve tried getting a cut from someone different and so far no disappointments. Made an appointment each time and the longest I had to wait was about 20 minutes. Today, I went at 2 PM on a Wednesday so there was absolutely no wait time. I’m sure thats not the case later in the day and on weekends, though. I was offered something to drink as my barber prepared his station, which I thought was pretty cool.
The hot towel shave (not just for beards but also for cleaning up haircuts) with a blade is awesome, and is one of those details that really makes the cut look sharp. Staff is always friendly and joking around from what I’ve seen and that’s a plus as well. Definitely going to keep coming back and seeing if I can get an even better cut from one of the more experienced barbers!

Great shop. Been coming here since basically the beginning of their time at this location (about two and a half years) and I’ve never been disappointed. I needed a new place for cuts after I moved away from a friend who used to cut my hair, and I’m glad I stumbled upon this on Facebook. My first cut here was with Boobi and he’s really the one that made me feel assured that I can rely on this shop for a good cut. Jared does my cuts now every time I visit and I def recommend booking him if you’re new here. He’s a true professional who truly cares about the craft. Honestly booking anyone would be dope lol. I’ve watched these guys train these kids in cutting back in 2013 and now they doing their own cuts by themselves either here or at their brother/​sister location, The Wolves Den. The only thing I’ll say is DEF call ahead (or peep the online scheduler) and book ahead of time. They’re really popular. so getting an appointment can be tough. Also, be prepared to wait a little bit when you get there even with an appointment. But it’s not too bad honestly. They just poppin haha. Check em out!

First time customer. Obviously a busy and popular place. Had a 11 am appointment. At 11:20, I gave up a left. Looked like other stylists were overbooked too.

Best, most consistent haircut I’ve gotten in the area. Just as good as when I was spending 40 bucks for a cut in Boston. Well worth the 30 bucks

This place is great. Convenient hours and reasonably priced. I bring my son here– he’s 5– and everyone we’ve seen has been patient and given him a great haircut. He likes coming here because it’s a real barber shop and he feels like a big kid. I like that he can come here and get a good looking haircut– not the standard bowl cut or buzz cut you’d get at a kids place.

The very best haircut and shave I have ever experienced. Everyone is amazingly personable and friendly. Skills are unmatched. Ambiance is professional but simultaneously fun and entertaining.

Great barber shop. I used to get my hair cut by Jimmy, but he no longer works there, so I have been getting it cut by Lou. $ 30 may seem a bit pricey, but they take their time and pay attention to detail. A great haircut every time. Making a reservation is easy by phone or online. You get confirmation and reminder messages by email or text message. I have never had to wait when I had a reserved appointment. I miss the more relaxed atmosphere when the shop first opened, with the couches and the dogs, but they re-​did the inside twice and added more barber chairs and opened a second location. The shop has a nice old-​school barber shop atmosphere that reminds me of the old barbershop my grandfather owned.

Great place. Haircut was legit. Drew was awesome, highly recommended.

Got the worst haircut of my life here yesterday. Pretty sure the barber, Glen, was high, and he didn’t listen to a single word when I described what I wanted. He kept me aimed away from the mirrors so I couldn’t see the damage until later (really I didn’t understand until I got home).
I’d been growing my beard out for months and he just took it all off, and messed up all the edges.
My hair is much shorter than I asked for.
I have the worst razor burn of my life on my neck.

I went to Razor Sharp because of all of the fantastic reviews the place has gotten here on Unilocal.I have a nape undercut and wanted a design, but wasn’t sure what I wanted, and my usual hair salon doesn’t do designs. I’d never been inside of a barbershop before.
I walked in and was immediately taken care of by Eddie. I told him to do whatever he wanted and he took his time, was very professional and helped me relax. I’m very happy with the result and I’ll definitely be going back! The place is very clean and beautiful (you have to check out the chandelier) and the staff were all friendly. I can see why they have so many good reviews.
Edit: I have since had my sides shaved as well and have been going back every few weeks to get freestyle designs done. I’ve been very happy and am always getting compliments on my hair. These guys don’t just cut hair; they are artists. They recently opened a new location in Westfield and I’m looking forward to stopping in and seeing it.

I have never had a better haircut in my life.
I went around 3:30 PM on a Saturday and it was very busy. I only waited for about 15 minutes max though, they have about 10 chairs. Not a whole lot of seating to wait, but it was totally worth it. They are very friendly and offer a drink if you need it.
I had Eddie, who is a total artist. He took around 30 minutes to cut my hair… Which is 28 minutes more than the cheap place I went to before. I didn’t know exactly what cut I wanted going in. But he gave me an amazing one. Great attention to detail and great to talk to.
Cost me $ 30 without tip and it is cash only, there’s an ATM inside if you need it. I would highly, highly recommend it. I will definitely be going back!

I was driving up the turnpike from PA to MA and knew I needed a cut, so around New Brunswick, I Unilocaled for a good barber shop and popped in to Razor Sharp. David set me up with an excellent blended undercut and beard trim. He really knows what he is doing. The other barbers gave him props for the great cut and I’ve already received many complements.
The atmosphere in the shop is really positive and friendly. Very cool decorating and it’s a great place to be a man. Check it out.

I’ve been here multiple times and have been cut by multiple barbers here! Jared and Peter are great in their craft, they take their time, they do it correctly, and they ask plenty of questions to be sure you get exactly what you want. I think the biggest draw is that they will always try to recommend small changes for ways to improve the look.
Just a great group of guys that can cut all hairstyles of any age. Highly recommend if you’re in the area! Price is higher than your regular barber shop; but I promise you this is much better than any regular shop. Invest in your look!

I am a big follower of Khalil Malamug and Razorsharp Barbershop Shave Parlor. I have seen so many changes in the last year since it first opened back in July of 2013. The shop started with only 4 chairs. At the time I had visited I only seen two barbers and 4 chairs. While following Instagram I watch as the shop progressed to 6 chairs and then to 10. I am truly impressed to see a shop that continues to put out quality 5 star work and seeing a shop with so much team unity. I myself would avoid such a shop assuming the many different egos that may possibly be in there. Razorsharp Barbershop is an exception to this thought. All I see is constant unity, everyone on the same page looking out for one another and support and encouraging one another whether you are a client or employee at Razorsharp Barbershop. I commend the shop on its positive work in the shop and in the community.

With black-​varnished walls, late-​night hours, complimentary refreshments, and a prime Central NJ location, one might easily mistake this trendy barbershop for the neighborhood’s newest speakeasy. The über trendy décor with eight sleek black leather chairs with workbench fitted station tops creates a properly retro and slick looking finish.
While the shop sports many tattoo-​covered stylists specializing in cuts ranging from classic to the newer and trendier fades and short urban hair cuts, each one of them is very competent at executing any choice of eye catching hairstyle.
The staff — super friendly and unpretentious
My stylist — Jimmy — listened to exactly what I wanted, and for the first time ever, I walked out with exactly what I asked for.
Reasonably priced, laid back and super cool, this is a shop that will make anyone and everyone emerge feeling great. Razor Sharp gave me the best haircut I have had in a long time, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for the same.

What separates Razorsharp Barbershop & Shave Parlor is there attention to detail. Upon entering you see their logo etched into the front glass door. The décor is a mix between vintage furniture and youthful skate, tattoo and Graf inspired themes. The black & white barber pole proves that RSBS is uniquely different.
As one who’s seen the transformation and construction of this former insurance company storefront into a hub of like-​minded people who want to look their best, this is a must stop when in the Central NJ area.
The barbers are well seasoned including the owner Khalil. Although he’s been a friend of mine for quite some time, we became close because of his skill behind the clippers. Seven, eight years later I still go to him and his staff for my haircut needs.
Hot towel service, straight edge razor shape-​ups are a must for someone like me who dons a chin-​strap & goatee. My hair texture & hairline are a mess and I need consistent upkeep so I can trust the RSBS to make sure I look my best.
Outside of that, RSBS also has additional products to maintain you look slick. Pomade products from Uppercut Featherweight are exceptional. Brand merchandise apparel including tees & hats are brilliant including their Clipset snapbacks. I have a reliable source who works directly with Dipset, the music group where the hat was inspired from & they found it witty and gave the thumbs up.
Tie all that together with the events they regularly hold that market independent artists, musicians and businesses and RSBS is truly is above and beyond when it comes to creating a culture around their craft. Utilizing these resources they’ve raised funds for Ronald McDonald House, local & international charities as well as helping out a fellow barber who needed money for medical bills after an unfortunate accident.
Now obviously I’ve praised them highly but there are only a few local businesses that do so much on their own. RSBS represents NJ so well and I’m glad that we have something we can call our own.
