Brides beware!!! This woman tried really hard to make me believe she would have my bridesmaid gown altered in time for my sister’s wedding this Friday. I feel like such a sucker.
I brought her a delicate and very oversized gown (I lost 40lbs) in mid Aug. She assured me she was familiar with the dress and knew it was from Macys bridal. I felt confident. I went to two other local seamstresses and this shop was least expensive. I made an appt. to pick it up on Sept. 16. I went there and it was not done (2 ½ weeks later). She said I should have called her first… ummm thats what an appt is for, right? I got stern with her and she said her son was in the hospital. Now I felt stupid for being worried. She kept saying to call her, I said no you call me when its done. She said come Friday it will be done. When I showed up Fri (⁹⁄₂₀) the business was closed.
I finally got her to answer my calls the following Tues, as her voicemail box was full. I was told to come in the next morning. When I did my dress was only half done. She sized the rest of it and said to pick it up Monday morning (⁹⁄₃₀) after arguing that I needed it ASAP.
When I arrived Mon. there was an Eviction notice on the door. She came out to meet me and assured me I would have my dress that day she was having landlord problems… Told me again to call her after 1pm. She ignored my calls, and I finally got got an answer by calling from a different number. At 3pm she told me she was going to sign papers and could get in by 8 – 9 pm. I stayed around that night only to find out I could get my dress at 10am the next morning.
So this morning, the property manager opened the door for the customers and let us get our items. After speaking w him & several other clients I concluded this was happening to all of them. My dress was still hanging in the dressing room where I left it 1 week prior. She hadn’t even touched it!!! Never even put it on a hanger. She had no intentions on finishing it. I’m a fool for giving so many opportunities to this shop.
I brought my unfinished dress to another seamstress in town today and she could seem to figure out what this woman had done with my dress. She said it was shortened too much and said the alterations already done were not professional. I only hope my dress is able to get done by Friday by this kind seamstress.
I met lisa at the shop afterwards to get a refund (after telling my husband she would) and she told me to dispute it with the credit card. She said what about the work I already did… REALLY??? With all the stress and running around chasing you down, you should be paying me! She hopped in her friends car and drove away.
Please beware of this shop!!! And read other brides reviews online, you will come up with more stories. Dont believe me, call the Metuchen tax dept or county landlord division. Its unfortunate for the other brides who have been waiting months to get their dresses with no answers.

My dress is currently in the works of getting tailored, but I had such a fortunate experience working with Lisa, the store owner, that I’d like to write a review for brides looking to get a little bit more attention from an outside source when putting together a look for the wedding day.
I can’t comment on how much her dresses are as I bought mine beforehand and elsewhere. But a brief look around, I could tell the dresses were different and unique to those found in David’s Bridal. I went to her because I was looking for a veil. Instead, I found a great tailor who gave constructive feedback. She also worked hard to tailor my dress which was sizes and sizes too big!
I really believe Lisa has a good eye to see what suits the bride and doesn’t push her own style on anyone else, rather she works with what you have and when you go on the wrong route she directs you back.
I do know that if you buy your dress from her boutique she gives a free veil and free dress alterations. Wish I came to her earlier :).

I had my doubts about how well the whole wedding dress shopping thing would go at first — but after stopping at this shop they all went away. I really had a great time here.
The woman who owns this store is just awesome, and you can tell she’s really excited to help you choose the perfect dress for your wedding. The level of service you get here is just a million times better and more personal than you’d get at any of the bigger stores (davids bridal, macy’s, ect). and really the prices are reasonable to. She also offers free alterations and a free veil (at least the promotion was available at the time I ordered my dress).
I just got my dress today… alterations and everything ;P It’s absolutely beautiful and I“m so happy we found this store. Definitely make this one of your stops if you’re in the market for a wedding dress !

These brides told me you will put the gown on and just know. I spent the day at bridal salons and started making into a joke of a day because everything we tried on was ridiculous. It was Sunday & all the fancy stores were closed. «you will just know my Butt» I didn’t believe them. We were leaving to get some coffee & There was this little store on the right, sharp turn and we were there. This woman Lisa was remarkable! She pulled out 2 gowns for me & it was the FIRST 1 I tried on, I was in love! Ok so those brides were right. Lisa was so happy for us & so helpful! She was in the room with me and did all the work, hey those gowns are heavy! I brought my party of 11 girls the next time & she helped us all out. She went above & beyond. If I had an issue, she took care of it :) She was so wonderful, that we even invited her to the wedding! I definitely recommend this place ladies. ** Remember to stay on top of your gown, make sure it will be ready on time. Also Lisa included the alterations & a veil :)
