Love the greenway. It’s a perfect place to walk dogs without worrying about traffic, and a fun place for the kids to ride their scooters. Lots of birds, woodchucks, and even snapping turtles! It is fairly well maintained but it could be better, particularly on the Edison side of the rt. 1 bridge, where there is a lot of litter. I wish they treated the path in the winter, too, but I understand that it would be a big undertaking. The greenway is one of my favorite things about Metuchen!

Love the Greenway! Its a great way to get people outside walking, running, and biking. The paths are wide enough so there is no need to worry about over crowding either. Most of the trail is in the shade and their are access ramps throughout Metuchen so you can jump on and off in different parts of town. For now it is very clean and I certainly hope it stays that way for a long time. Saturday was the official dedication of the Greenway in Metuchen so I can only forsee improvements to come. Thank you Metuchen!

This is some nice park. It’s part of the Rails-To-Trails Conservancy, so it used to be a railway and is now a park. Even though it goes right through Metuchen and Woodbridge, it’s eerily secluded – sort of difficult to get into, and there are no signs for it. Feels like the rainforest! I went running here the day after a rain(like every day this g.d. summer), and it was a muddy situation. Not great drainage, and also parts of the trail are overgrown. But there is also a cool bridge over route 1, built just for this trail! Edison Greenways put this mess together, and they are hot for that. I met these people at their monthly meeting – they advocate for public hiking and biking space in the area. And they do clean up events and such. Check out the website, they update it!
