mixed experience. i had them refurbish an old vac and agreed on a price that’s about in line with what a refurbished model goes for on ebay. i had to call a few times to ask if it was ready before it was. when i picked it up, i noticed some problems with it, and also that there were several parts from other models attached. i agreed to take it home and give it a whirl and just wasn’t satisfied. to their credit, they gave me a refund without question. this is why i’m giving two stars, as opposed to one. still, i’d have preferred that they told me straight out that they wouldn’t be able to refurbish the machine as quoted. or, perhaps, give me a break on the quoted price. or, maybe, give me a call while they were working on it to tell me things weren’t going as planned and ask me what i want to do(i.e. wait for the right parts or use parts from other models, or select a different vac). any of these would have been reasonable. but i do appreciate the hassle-free return. i agree with the other reviewer, you should deal with chris if you can. the other guy sold me the thing, chris worked on the machine and handled the return. he was very understanding and reasonable considering the circumstances. i would buy from him again. i would not deal with the other guy.

Metuchen Vacuum also repairs lamps and can do some handyman jobs to boot. Chris is my go-to guy there, and he fixed my lamps and assembled some furniture for me. He’s very upfront to deal with – lets you know what needs to be done, how long it will take to get parts, how much Option A and Option B will cost you, etc. If there are choices to be made, he gives you the info and lets you make them. And he is frugal with your money!
