Maritza is a graduate of Wilfred Academy in Newark with over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry. Maritza’s warmth and attention to her clients as well as the staff she manages is evident in how well she is respected as a hairdresser and leader.

Just came back from an incredible massage. I have been going to Appearance Plus Day Spa on and off for 7 years. Today my massage therapist was Jen and I can honestly say that it was one of the best massaged I have ever had. She was very professional, did not talk during my massage at all which is exactly what I needed to relax completely. Will definitely go back soon!

I got a mani and pedi done here to try out the place as I live walking distance away.
It’s very clean, relaxing and I was treated very well. My nails also came out looking beautiful and they had a great color selection. I plan on going back for other services as well.

Will never go here again! I usually do not write reviews, but this place was a HUGE disappointment. I went for a Brazilian wax. The lady was friendly and quick. However, they DOUBLE DIP the SAME stick into the wax over and over!!! Now that is just very unsanitary. I also went in to get my hair done for my birthday and I asked for sexy Victoria Secret type curls. I did not get the hairstyle I was looking for. The lady used a ½″ curling iron on my hair so I walked out with super tight curls and looked like a poodle!!! I ran home and finger combed my hair till it looked semi-​decent. Worst experiences here ever. Never will go back.

Needless to say, we had a great experience at the spa on Thursday. Maritza could not have been a better hostess/​owner. The hospitality and comfort we felt was first rate. My wife Lois really enjoyed the triple play of massage, facial, and mani/​pedicure. She loved all the folks who serviced her.
Maritza, you have a great team, you can bet we will return.
By the way, it was also great having some great places to eat within walking distance of the spa. It helps to round out the experience.

My wife went for a manicure. The 30 min manicure costing $ 18 included 15 min of drying the nail polish :(. Then she got no massage for her fingers, hand and her cuticles weren’t cared for. She left the Spa the way she entered plus lighter by $ 20. Not worth the name.
