Unbelievably slow service. Had an appointment scheduled for 11. I showed up at 10:45 and my car went in probably for 11. It’s now 1pm and I’m still waiting for it to be finished. Two hours to install one tire seems way too long. I was also brought out into the garage and asked if my car had been running hot because the mechanic had opened the coolant reservoir while the engine was still hot and coolant was going everywhere. Really? Does it say «open when hot for a good time» on most radiator caps? Pretty sure it doesn’t. This isn’t a date.

I came in for a battery change. When I left my convertible top, windows and trunk did not work. I had to take it back to the dealership to get it working again and I am still trying to get it sorted out weeks later. STAY AWAY.

The one star is for the lady who checked me in because she was a sweetheart, but no one should ever bring their car here. Ever. I had a 9:00a appointment to get an oil change. I repeat: AN OIL CHANGE. I booked online and when I got here was told there were two cars before mine. No biggie. Then I was given a two hour wait time. For an oil change. I went to PJs, got coffee, read a book, and walked back an hour and 45 mins later. My car hadn’t even been pulled in yet. When does my car finally get pulled into the garage? At noon, 3 hours after my appointment. I was actually told at the two hour mark that my car was in the garage, it was just towards the back so I couldn’t see it. Do they think their customers can’t see where their car is?
I repeat: OVER THREE HOURS FOR AN OIL CHANGE.
Do you enjoy sitting on uncomfortable chairs while Young & the Restless plays as back ground noise? Do you have nothing else to do on your day off and think sitting around while constantly being told, «you’re next!» sounds like a fantastic time? Does it warm your heart to see people leave with their cars that checked in after you? Well then, you’re a moron and should totally bring your vehicle here. Everyone else, be smart and go elsewhere.

Went with appointment for oil change. Arrived early. Oh you are next. Left for 40 minutes. Came back car still sitting in same spot. All bays. EMPTY!!! Sorry they haven’t gotten to you yet. WTF. I’m out. Never again

4:00 appointment. Arrive 10 minutes early. Promised in an hour/​hour and a half at the most. Come back at 5:50. Car is just being pulled in. Never again, Sears.

Phone listed online does NOT WORK. Suggestions to fix were met with why don’t you look on your paperwork. 1^st day left tire. Couldn’t return for four days New tire not installed was told I was next. 1 ½ hours later they start to install new tire. Guy waiting next to me has been here 2 hours. Lots of better choices. Rate minus 5

Worst service. My fuel filter is giving me trouble causing my truck to not start. I called over there and confirmed on having my truck towed for service. When I get there the head mechanic starts throwing a fit (unprofessionally) then says it doesn’t start I can’t fix it. I informed him that I called prior to make sure it was something they can handle. Apparently not. I had to call and get it towed somewhere else. They were not courteous at all and the mechanic just didn’t want to deal with it. They shouldn’t call themselves an auto center then, they should probably just stick to tires since that’s really they only thing they can do. They advertise the ability to diagnosis but they refused to even try. Not worth your time and we had to wait in line for 30 minutes just to be helped to be turned down. Why they only have one register open always I’ll never understand.

Being new in town, I went to Sears Auto expecting the awesome service I have literally gotten all across the country (military). So there I was… Walked into the Sears in Metairie and asked for a full tune up (plugs, wires, coil pack, fuel system cleaning, oil change). I was told my service would take 2 to 3 hours. That was at 11:50am. So happy with that answer, I leave Sears and walk to the Clearview Mall and walk around. Bored with that mall, I’m feeling a little adventurous and proceed to walk to Lakeside Mall and walk around. Well when I walked back to Sears Auto, I see my car still parked in the same place I parked it in that morning now 1:12pm. I… feeling that they could have a least humored me and pulled it in to the bay, am now feeling some type of way. I walk in and asked when my car is going to a least be looked at and no answer. Lady behind the registor walks to the garage and reappears 15 minutes later, with my key and lets me know that none of the mechanics feels like doing their job today and I should leave.
So long story short… DON’T GO TO SEARS AUTO in Metairie on Veterans Blvd. Only you will think your time is important.

SLOW AS SHI*. They couldn’t be more curteous and friendly. But they need to hire more than one person to take care of all car problems. Took 30 Minutes To Tell the Lady I Needed an Oil changed.

Terrible customer service. I keep kicking myself mentally for not reading these reviews before coming out to Metairie for an Oil Change and waiting 3 and a half hours before getting a call that the car mechanic couldn’t figure out how to move my seat back so he couldn’t even drive my car… someone who works on cars for a living…
Not worth the coupon for half off oil change.

Goodness, the first time they were the only ones who could take me immediately for a radiator. Their prices are not competitive at all. After I waited for over an hour with no word on the actual problem, price or fix I returned to the cashier. Cashier couldn’t locate the mechanic who was eventually located in a room with computers. The Cashier informed him, «This man has been waiting for over an hour for your diagnosis!». His reply, «oh, well I’m trying to locate a contractor who has that particular radiator».
I regretfully returned because I knew they would have an opening because people avoid this place (I needed a new battery/​installed).
As soon as I walk in I hear a customer complaining, «What do you mean you don’t take appointments!!! I called yesterday and was told my appointment was for 11:15 a.m.». Well, ma’am we don’t.
(And the awkward silence began). 0_​_​_​o
The same cashier calls another customer before acknowledging me «yes ma’am you’re car was ready yesterday when you gonna (sic) pick it up?!» Somebody had to call you man why wouldn’t we?!”.
Thank God I just needed a battery, SMH.

They really need to do some work here to improve service. The employees are friendly and helpful as they can be, but there is clearly a problem with training. I have a tire warranty at Sears, and after the last experience, I won’t go back even for FREE service.
I went in for a slipped belt on a tire which is a very uncomfortable ride. It took four hours for them to diagnose it after I told them that it was probably a slipped belt. It was also at the end of four hours that they informed me that my tread was too worn for my warranty to cover a new tire (they could have told me this at the beginning). So I had to go home and get my spare. I returned the next day and they changed one of my tires, BUT LEFT THE BAD ONE ON THE CAR. I felt it as soon as I pulled out of the parking spot and went back. The manager on duty said in exasperation, about the staff he is supposed to manage, «Oh, what did they do wrong NOW!» (He was very professional other than that.) So that turned into another three hour trip. This time they changed the correct tire, but they didn’t BALANCE the tires before sending me out the door. So after a total of around seven hours, my car still vibrates and shakes on the road… I will be going somewhere else and paying someone $ 30 to do the job right…
Again, this is not the employees’ fault. This is obviously a systemic issue that, if not resolved, will put somebody in danger.

I had a good experience here. I had 4 new tires put on plus an oil change. It was the cheapest in town and I shopped around at least 5 – 6 other places. Went in on a Friday afternoon, selected my tires and gave them my keys, walked over to the mall to watch a movie while I waited and when I came back my car was done and I was out within 5 minutes.
It didn’t seem like they were busy on this particular day, so the other reviews might have occurred when they were busy, understaffed or whatnot. I will say I called ahead of time to ask what days were less busy so I could plan accordingly. Monday mornings are busy. End of the week afternoons are not, apparently.
Car repairs and/​or maintenance is just not a fun experience all the way around. I tried Pep Boys, Firestone and Tire Kingdom, all of which didn’t seem like they wanted to take my money. Sears got me in and out quickly and with no hassle. What more could I ask for?
Bottom Line: if you go, plan on walking over to see a movie at Clearview Mall. It gets you out of the store and your mind off whatever stupid car repairs or maintenance you’re having done. If it takes a while, just see two. Haha.

Incredibly disappointed with customer service. I arrived shortly after opening on a Tuesday and stood in the middle of the store (with two other customers who’d arrived before me) waiting to be acknowledged for thirty minutes. During this time, staff members answered phone calls and appeared to have extreme difficulty completing one task at a time; I cringe at the thought of their trying to multitask. At one time, there were 3 staff members and 5 mechanics hanging out idly in the lobby while we waited to check in.
I expect a wait anytime my car is serviced, but I have little patience when the root cause of a long wait is complete inefficiency.
I do not recommend this service center and will definitely not be returning.

Bought my tires at Sears and got the warranty package for road hazard. Have brought my car in for low tire pressure six times since July. Each time they suggest an alignment, which I had done in July! It’s been the same two tires I keep telling them that are low on air and to look to see if they have leaks. 4 times all they did is reset the TPMS system. I acquired a copy of the hand written notes! They did NOT fix the issues with the tires. In mid September, I was on my way to work when one of the two tires had a blow out. Brought it back to have them fix the tire issues. I had to watch them the entire time to make sure they did the work. Before I was ready to leave they said I needed an alignment! Must be a money maker for them! I told them I had one in July. They did it complimentary and when I got the results, there was NOTHING wrong with the alignment! I waged a complaint to their corporate office. I was told the district manager will be calling me, that hasn’t happened yet!!! Back again for the left front tire today! Guess what? They say I need an alignment! NOT!
DO NOT BUY TIRES FROM THEM NO MATTER WHAT! Spend the savings at a more reputable establishment!

You wait all day and prices are not competitive for car services… tires are priced well but there is a lot of room to negotiate so do so.
I wont go back.

Store is majorly understaffed. Got tired of standing waiting for the one person to help the crowd in the store. She kept answering the phone and helping those people before helping the people in the store. Got an idea. Called a nearby Firestone and they got me right in.

I’ve been here SEVERAL times & each time I ask my self ‘why did I come here?’ then I promise never to come back. But as you can see, I’m here!!!
Nothing’s wrong w the work performed, it just seems the work flow is NOT very ordered when it comes to 1^st in 1^st out… I know that everything is relative to what’s being done blah, blah, but for tires, you gotta wait 2.5+ hrs, that’s absurd. I got in at 8:30a, they open at 8a, out at 11:30a.
I have 17inch tires & for whatever the reason many places don’t stock them. But low & behold, each time THIS SEARS location in particular has what I need.
My only wish is for a more ordered flow of service & expeditious processing.
