MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes

Excellent wait staff! The food service is fast, FRESH and delicious. I had the Tur-​Cali Club-​DELISH! This restaurant is family friendly and has a huge chalkboard to entertain the kiddos.

Really good burgers. Cook just right. Friendly staff and somewhere you can go and sit down if you have roughly an hour lunch.

Wow a great burger that beats all the major chains — five guys, habit, counter, smashburger, etc. Price is lower than most upscale burger places too. Lots of flavor, very juicy, no cartilage pieces.
Fries are super fresh and nicely salted too.

Just went to grab a burger and shake with my family. Waited several minutes at the counter and no one spoke to us. We saw tons of employees and not so much as a «we will be with you in a minute». Finally we turned and walked out and 3 employees laughed. Our family left sad because the food and shakes are great. The service is typically good but it must have been an off night.

Mooyah Not So Great
Visited here to see how the burgers stacked up to the competition and it was an all out failure. Average burger at best, many other fast food burgers beat them out as far as I’m concerned. If you like sweet potato fries, come here. They are pretty good. Milk shakes are nothing to brag about as well.

Okay we got hooked on Mooyah in Dallas and could not believe it when we discover this location… this is not your typically burger place, fresh ingredients and on point service by the entire staff… my wife loves the turkey on multigrain wheat with Mooyah sauce, with all the fixins (no cheese please)…my favorite is the double beef same as the above… we love the sweet potato fries and when we have room left… a shake to go. We have introduced several of our non-​burger friends and they are now fans…

I have been to this place 3 times and always was great. Good hit burgers and enough fries to share with someone. Good drink selection and clean.

I do love me some Mooyah. The burgers are yummy and there is an absurd amount of toppings to choose from. Kind of similar to Five Guys, minus the peanuts, and with a few more topping options.
They have the «iceburger» if you prefer iceburg lettuce instead of carbs, but they have really good buns (white or wheat). A burger will run around $ 5 and then you can add fries/​drinks if you choose.
They are very kid-​friendly, with kids meals and coloring pages available. There is also a big chalkboard on the wall at this location so kids (and adults, I suppose) can draw on it before leaving.
Tip: Get the Mooyah app. They are giving out a free burger coupon at the moment if you download & register for the app. I don’t know that I will go to Mooyah often enough to really utilize the rewards program, but free makes me happy!

Unilocal didn’t let me down as we were traveling with the grandkids and needed lunch. Reminded me of 5 Guys, same handcut fresh fries but the burgers were not quite as good but still delicious. The burgers were a little too flat. Milk shakes were amazing!
Bathrooms were clean and the staff was friendly.

This location is a lot better than the one I went to in spring, TX. The service is great and the staff is inviting. I like that The food is cooked in vegetable oil and not peanut oil like five guys, which is a plus for a family like mine with peanut allergies. The buns are homemade and the burgers are fresh and customizable. I ordered mine with The yummy mooyah sauce and added sweet potato fries to the side, which are «delish». The only thing that sucked was that this location has one bathroom stall for the men’s and 1 for the women’s (1 person at a time). And why was there only one season salt shaker? Two guys were hoggin it and I had to go to their table and ask for it. No Bueno.

There’s a huge variety of toppings to choose from on the menu, which is nice, and the wait isn’t too long even when it’s crowded. The atmosphere is a typical chain fast food-​esque type place. A bit on the loud side, but that’s expected. I would probably come back if I wanted a quick bite to eat, or if a Five Guys wasn’t available.

I came in with my fiancée because I (or we) were craving burgers, but I still wanted something healthy. I go the turkey burger on the iceberg lettuce bun and the two of us split fries. My turkey burger was surprisingly good for, well, a turkey burger. It was seasoned pretty well and cooked fully. And the bite I had of her cheeseburger was pretty good too. The fries were also surprisingly better than normal fries. Not sure what they do to them, but I couldn’t stop eating them. The service system they have there is pretty good too. They bring your food and bus your table, but you order at the counter. Kind of a mix between fast food and full waiter service. Pretty good.

I joined the email club and I got a «get a free burger w/​the purchase of fries and a drink «so I figured since they have such good reviews, I’ll give it a shot. The burger was decent but I’ve had better (Port of Call, Company Burger, Yo Mamma’s, just to name a few). The sweet potato fries were good and you get a good amount.
Now to why I only gave them a 3 rating. My «free» burger with the purchase of fries and a drink was $ 7.54. To me, that’s a rip off. I was charged .70 for cheese and .99 for bacon so technically, the burger wasn’t free. I was charged $ 2.29 for the drink and $ 2.99 for the sweet potato fries so it came to $ 6.97 before taxes. Almost $ 7 for a side, a drink and 2 condiments that I feel I shouldn’t have been charged for since the burger was «free».
No offense but if I’m going to spend that much on a burger, I’ll go elsewhere.

I’ve been here more than once and I must say each experience was unique to the cook present. The first time I ate here my black bean burger was very well done but my fries were delicious so I decided to give them another try. The second visit was much better. I was able to enjoy my burger and well as my fries and even though I can’t have milk shakes everyone around me looked very pleased with theirs. My third experience included another overly cooked black bean burger but I let it slide. They do have a bigger variety than most for their burgers (reminds me of five guys) and they even have a chalk wall for the kids to entertain themselves.

After just one visit I knew I would be a fan of MOOYAH’s, and my second visit solidified this belief. This is «fast food» at is best and ranks up there with my personal favorites of In-​N-​Out, Five Guys and Johnny Rockets. All future references to my favorite burger spots will include MOOYAH’s.
Burger options include beef, double beef, turkey burgers, black bean veggie burgers as well as an all beef hot dog. Bun options include white, wheat or a no bun lettuce wrap. There are a multitude of free sauces and veggies to choose from, including grilled options. (Yeah, I love me some grilled onions) I am a cheeseburger lover, so kudos to MOOYAH’s for all the different cheese options; particularly the blue cheese option.
The counter personnel are very friendly and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about being here. Once your food is ordered, a separate «server» will bring you your food. My burger was the closest I’ve had to a home cooked burger in a long time. This was no mass produced symmetrical hockey puck, but rather a hand formed asymmetrical food wonder. There was just a slight char on the burger and it was juicy as heck. I always judge a burger not only by taste, but also by how much juice drips onto my tray and down my wrists; and MOOYAH’s is slinging a damn good juicy burger. Furthermore, they don’t skimp on the cheese, as mine was piled high.
The French fries were definitely not frozen as you could see the cases of Cross Valley Farms Idaho potatoes stacked high. These were some delicious fries, but not for the faint of heart, or those with a bad heart. I’m no nutritionist, but I’m betting these fries aren’t «heart healthy». However, they are superb. Besides, I’m not going to MOOYAH’s for a healthy meal. I’m going for a damn good burger and order of fries.
The restaurant itself was very clean and I enjoyed the manager’s visit to my table to see if everything was prepared to my satisfaction; which it was. This is a very kid friendly place and I especially like the humongous Noodle Doodle chalkboard for the kids to draw on. There are also 3 huge flat screen TV’s on the walls for the adults, so it’s a win-​win for everyone. I am looking forward to my next visit so I can try one of their milkshakes.

Another fancy burger joint that steps on the scene in the like of 5 Guys but better. You order your burger pick your toppings and wait for your number to be called. The burgers are thin (as They should be), juicy and on a smashable bun. The toppings are more extensive than 5 guys as there are a larger variety of cheeses. The fries I believe were fresh cut but I chose the sweet potato version and they were crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Perfect! Mooyah also has shakes. I got a banana shake and it was as expected.
10.00 for a combo meal but since everything is cooked to order, I’d say that is a bargain. Next time I may stop in for a burger then shoot upstairs to World of Beers and skip the shake.

We finally tried Mooyah last night for dinner. I’m not a burger fan, but I enjoyed their burger a lot. The bun is doughy soft and I like how you can customize exactly how you want your burger. I got the sweet potato fries with my order and I think they were the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had.
The people working at this location were extra friendly. We received our order super quick. There is not a whole lot of parking though. We had tried coming here earlier in the year and there was nowhere to park. That is the only drawback.

I’ve been on this burger binge for the past 48 hours and in my rampage I made my way out to Metairie to check off either Atomic Burger, or Mooyah and i decided on here for no particular reason. At first looks from the outside, I thought this place was huge. Upon entry, i realized that there is a separate business (a bar) on the upper level.
I got a mooyah with cheese, dressed (that means lettuce, tomato and mayo for you carpet baggers), grilled onions and onion strings on a wheat bun. It was quite a tasty burger, can’t say I’d go out of my way for it, but if in Metairie and really in a burger mode, this place would probably be at the front of my head as far as suggestions go.
Also got an order of the sweet potato fries and a M&M shake. The fries were really good, hot and crispy. The shake was pretty good as well, they should incorporate large straws for them tho. They are way too thick for the regular straws they have available.
Also, while I appreciate the enthusiasm with the shake, ¼ of it was all diced m&m’s, I’m pretty sure it’s a bag’s worth to a cup. A little overkill there.
It’s a good burger joint to stop into, certainly a better quick lunch option than your McDonald’s or BK.

Not bad, but nothing to hoop and holler over either. Typical build your burger type restaurant which for the 100^th time like other reviews state, it’s extremely similar to five guys only with milkshakes and a more options to dress your burgers. You also have the option of going bunless if your watching your carbs or getting turkey if your going the leaner route.
