TWOCOCKROACHESINTWODIFFERENTROOMSIN1HOUROFCHECKINGIN [warning: this was such an awful and traumatizing experience I had to stop typing this review as it was happening and have decided to relive it by finally posting now. Checking in was on the night of June 182015, checking out was after midnight roughly 1 hour later] I kid you not, they kept saying this is so rare and doesn’t happen in their establishment but thats IMPOSSIBLE! We checked in late at night and dealt with an interesting front desk girl who seemed out of it along with a teenage looking girl that was just standing behind her. They were ok, nothing special about it. We walked into our room and I thought thats it ok, looks clean and thats whats most important to me. Within the same minute of walking in I decided to see what view we have from our window so I open the curtains to see its just the parking lot, I close the curtains and a HUGE cockroach begins to crawl from the top to the bottom. I took pics and video while calling the front desk to say we’re coming down to move to a different room. We show the out of it front desk girl and her side kick the video and pictures and she says«oh just one»… WHATTHE?! Whats that suppose to mean?!? So we respond with the«you need more for this to be a bigger deal» and we began asking how common this is in Courtyard Marriott. We explained we’re rewards members and stay with marriotts often and never thought we’d find roaches. Instead of apologizing and reassuring us this isn’t normal and they are sorry they brushed off everything we were saying, acted a little annoyed and agreed to give us a new room but this time we insisted someone go into the room and check it all to make sure there were no roaches or problems ahead of time. The manager came down, apologized and said he would examine the while room before we enter. After about a 20 minute wait he comes down, explains he went through it all, opened and closed the curtains, checked through the front and back, opened the sofa bed, everything and this place was clear. We proceed to check into the new room on a higher floor. Search around, checked the curtains and under furniture. No roaches in sight– phew. bad experience behind us right? After being so jet lagged and tired, its around 11:30PM by this point, we start prepping for bed, spouse takes a cat nap before unpacking and changing into PJs. I wiped down the room with clorox wipes(as I usually do) unpack a little, sit on the bed and see a HUUUUGECOCKROACH go from one side of the room towards the bed. I scream, have the spouse wake up and we put a trashcan on top of it to show the management as evidence. We called down, this is very shortly after checking into the room and insist on a manager coming back up. Same guy who checked the new room ahead of time comes in, apologizes profusely, lifts the can to see this JUMBOROACH and he freaked a little. He lifted it again and killed the thing. He knew and we explained there was no way we’d be staying there that night or any of the other nights we booked for that week. Only problem was it was close to 12AM, we were walking zombies and in an area with little options for sleeping arrangements that wouldnt be disgusting. This courtyard had the better reviews in the area and was a little more expensive, which was why we booked our stay here. The manager called their next door affiliates and we stayed in that place for the night(without unpacking a thing) before rushing out of the area the next morning.

Got the room at the last minute and was very pleased. The location is very convenient and the staff is courteous and helpful. Staff recommended great dining options nearby. Room was also very clean and the bed was comfortable.

I absolutely loved this hotel. It was clean, warm and inviting. The front desk staff always greeted you with a smile and made you feel welcome. Check in and out was a breeze as well. The food at the bistro is good but it’s not fresh, reason for deducting a star from my rating but nonetheless the staff again will always greet you with a smile and are very courteous. The lounge on the main floor is very nice with a gas fireplace that was on every time I entered the lobby and the joining computer area was very nice and clean. A taxi cab is almost always out front waiting to take you wherever you need to go. The hotel wifi is a little shady, another reason for not giving this hotel five stars but overall worked decently most of the time.

This is a 3-star hotel. We stayed three nights to attend a conference being held at the hotel. It’s nice, clean and quiet. We had a non smoking room on the 2nd floor, which was good, but the bathroom was very small. The TV was on the side of the bed, so you had to turn to watch it. Not the best I’ve had, but certainly not the worst. Free wifi, but slow.

My family and I have been staying here since my Tulane days. The hotel underwent renovations, so its a lot better now then it was when we first stayed in ’06. The location is convenient to the airport and downtown. It’s located off the I10 service road, across the interstate from Lakeside Mall, and about 15 minute drive to downtown French Quarter. The rooms come with a refrigerator, upon request, and a microwave is located in the lobby — should you need to warm anything up. They have a food station that is open from 7:30am to 8pm and the food is actually very good. The mattress is key during any away from home stay, and we all slept very well. It’s actually what keeps me returning apart from the staff, whom always been friendly faced, courteous and helpful with any and all requests. The hotel does offer AAA member discounts, however if you don’t mention it, neither will they. SOASK!

My husband stays in a Marriott weekly for business and is generally pleased with them, so we decided to give this one a shot. Bad idea. The entire second floor smells like smoke, the pool is a scary shade of green and despite being gone for 10 hours today, we returned to a room which hadn’t been cleaned. I’m sure most are fine, but this one should be avoided.

Was here for business last week.. Had booked 4 consecutive weeks, with weekends elsewhere for business.. The front desk couldn’t spell my name the same twice.. Said it would be corrected, had to have the manager Fix it.. Arrived tonight, confusion about the Corp credit card, then she«corrected» the reservation and MISSPELLED my name that was correctly in the computer.. I have only one thing I can say… Beam me up Scotty, there is no intelligent life in this hotel.. On the up side the cleaning crew did not fill things in the room that some consider necessary… TP.. Also no begging envelopes in the room for the tip for the housekeepers.. Why don’t they just beg? Yes this Marriott has me angry, I am a gold rewards member, travel for business and expect better.

This Courtyard shares the parking lot with a Residence Inn. Pros: friendly. Clean. New. Awesome rooms and updated décor. I was comfortable. Its also a 2 block walk from Ron’s Gumbo Stop! Cons: none. Okay, maybe one… not in the French Quarter.
