This place is wonderful. The food is excellent and for the most part the wait staff is very very good. Like most places they do seem to have a little problem in turnover(Always a new face behind the counter) but it is rare to have a problem. The food is excellent(Soups, sandwiches and salads) but a little pricey. The only issue I have is you never know what they have available. If you are going for a particular item(Muffin or biscuit or piece of cake) there have been numerous times they were sold out. So please VOTE with your wallet and walk out(Don’t settle for something else) and go elsewhere. That is the only way the message can get passed on.

Mixed feelings about this place. Gorgeous and immaculate inside and the food was great! BUT, the service was odd. When I first came in, I had to ask them about their outdoor seating, because it was not set up. They brought chairs. When I was ordering, I sensed some obvious tension between the staff regarding their break times. Also, they didn’t have some of their menu options available. A little disappointing. When they brought me what I’d ordered, they didn’t think to include a spoon with my yogurt, so I had to leave my dogs once again in order to go inside just for a spoon. I get that this is not a full service restaurant, but there were at least 3 servers hanging out in the place, which was not in the least bit seeming busy, and they seemed to be fighting over whose break it was the whole time; you’d think they could make the customer feel happy. They took their breaks at tables right next to the ordering area, which seems a little unprofessional. Overall, I’d eat there again, but I don’t expect much out of their service.

Never a disappointment! Always freshly made. Staff are well-trained. Chicken salad sandwich is my all time favorite! You can get on a tray salad too and still won’t disappoint me or you guys! Love the environment. Ally his café

I’m not very familiar with lunch options in Metairie but I had to make a trip out there today and was craving a salad. Someone suggested Caffe Caffe. It’s a soup, salad, sandwich and baked goods café just behind Lakeside Mall. You order at the counter and pick up your food when your number is called. It’s a casual place with lots of windows. I ordered the avocado salad because I’m a succor for anything avocado. The salad was fairly simple — lettuce, avocado, Gorgonzola cheese, nuts and orange slices with a mango vinaigrette. The only negative part was the amount of dressing they ladled onto the salad. My lettuce was swimming in the mango vinaigrette. It’s a good dressing but a little goes on long way. Next time I’ll be sure to ask for it on the side.

Excellent cakes, pies, coffee etc! I was surprised by the huge selection of desserts. My wife and I went one evening for dessert and it was delicious ! She had a slice of wedding cake and I had tres leches. Both were very good! Service is also great! I have also heard great things about the lunch so I will be trying that soon. If you are in Metairie and looking for a quick, delicious dessert, then stop at Caffe Caffe !

I had the chicken salad sandwich and cup of veg beef soup. Whoever made the sandwich slathered on so much mayo it was inedible and oozing copious amounts of mayo out the sides — it went in the trash. You don’t need to add a s-load of mayo to something that already has mayo in it. The veg soup was okay but it needed salt and I think they could have taken more time to chop the cabbage into smaller pieces. I ordered it to go and it seemed like all I got was mostly cabbage. Giving two stars bc I had the rum cake for dessert which was really good.

Bright and friendly place for breakfast, lunch or to grab some coffee. Their hearty meal-sized salads are the reason I come here so often(my favorites are the Avocado Salad and the Roquefort Salad). People rave about the cake & pastries, although I’ve never tried any. I’m only giving it 4 stars, not 5, because it’s pretty pricey – be prepared for some sticker shock when the bill is totaled up.

An enchanting and spacious breakfast/lunch spot tucked away on North Hullen street and is well worth a look. Many large windows brighten the place up for a crisp and refreshing atmosphere. We had the Café Royale and Chai Tea and both exceeded our expectations complete with decorative whip cream. Their teas and coffees come in big black mugs for a homey café feel. Very tempting and decorative sweet treats adorn the long brick counter. We were there for breakfast and got bagel and croissant breakfast sandwiches. The food was certainly good and in no way disappointing… but I could think of a few slightly better croissant breakfast sandwiches that I’ve had elsewhere. However, their lunch looks like where it’s at so I am eager to go back and try out that menu. The service was fantastic! Everyone seems so cheery and energetic to be there on such a sleepy Saturday morning. They invited us to come back and informed us that the mornings are best if you want some quiet time with your laptop, and that the lunch rush gets rather busy with all the surrounding businesses in the area. In fact, they must have quite a regular crowd of repeat customers because the nice barista gentleman noticed right away that we were new to this place and that he had not seen us before, which is pretty observant for a busy café. I’ll definitely be returning to try their lunch soon!

Tried the seafood salad for takeout. I don’t care for the mango dressing as it is too sweet but between the blue cheese, pecans, and shrimp salad all the fixings work. But only with the dressing on the side! Not sure about value as I didn’t pay, but after looking at their online menu it might be on the pricey side.

The 5 stars are for the biscuits. Don’t get me wrong, everything else good, very good in fact. But, it is the biscuit that draws me here every Friday morning for my weekly treat to myself. Try it with Ham and Cheese(closest I’ve found to North Carolina/Virginia).

Great soups, sandwiches and salads. The avocado salad is fantastic and the Brazilian Shrimp soup is one of the best soups I have ever had. The soup menu changes daily and there is always a sandwich of the day as well. They make a shrimp remoulade wrap that I rather have on whole grain toast. It isn’t ever a big deal and they are always happy to make small changes. Such a friendly, helpful staff.

Delicious food and wonderful employees. They are always smiling and cheery. I love the teas and soups here, but the potato and tomato are my favorite. Today I got a bowl of the potato soup. It has cheese and bacon sprinkled on top.

I sometimes find myself going out of my way to grab a coffee here. I worked nearby for a few years, and now that I find myself in the neighborhood less, I still often come here for iced coffee. Their soups and sandwiches are quite good. They serve flavored coffees, and their mocha are unsweetened; they also offer a number of specialty drinks and the normal syrups you find everywhere else. They offer local flavored and favorites(Saints menu items, king cake), and their food and drinks come out fast and fresh. Even at their peak hours, they keep the lines moving. I suggest trying their pecan fudge and black and gold coffees.

I’ve been twice this week, as this is literally across the parking lot from my office building. Visit one: Good salad, awful dressing. I ordered the spinach salad. It comes with a sweet onion vinaigrette. AWFUL. Congealed. Oily. Blegh! So I exchanged it for poppy seed mango vinaigrette. BLEGH again! So over sugared. So I just ate it naked… No biggie, I didn’t need those cals. My coworker also complained about her ranch. I believe her exact words were, «If I’m getting the fattening dressing, it damn well better be worth the extra fat.» The guys seemed to enjoy their sandwiches. Visit two: Oh snap. I have a meeting in 20 minutes and I haven’t eaten lunch. Caffe Caffe to the rescue. I ordered a Turkey Club with some changes. And I’ll be honest, it wasn’t just one little change. I basically changed the whole sammich. No tomato, mayo(vom), or honey mustard spread. Add yellow mustard.(I miss TX for their yellow mustard standard.) Oh, and make the 7 grain bread untoasted. The doll at the register was trying to help out with cost– she saved me 30 cents. So I just let her have at it when she changed it to a Turkey sandwich(which comes on the 7 grain) plus bacon. She 86’d the right things, and added the yellow mustard. But bc that sandwich doesn’t come with cheese, I missed out. :(But again, maybe they’re just helping me shave some cals from lunch. No biggie. The biggest disappointment was the meat: bread ratio. It was like 2 slices of turkey on rather large slices of bread. Also two little pieces of romain, and a few bacon crumbles. It was lack luster. But I just threw the top bread off, folded it in half and called it good enough. Do I love this place? No. Not even a little. Do I like it? I don’t know that I really do. Will I recommend it to anyone? Probably not. Will I eat there again? Yes. Sometimes location trumps taste. And it’s not bad. It does just fine in a pinch. I’ll also update this review, if/when I ever cater an event with them… Maybe that’ll be a better experience.

Went here for lunch when I was in the area on business and BOY is this place packed, it is extremely popular and I can see why. Healthier options while still being tasty and unlike most healthy lunch places, these guys provide huge portions. I do not recommend coming here right at noon, but at an off-hour because it was almost impossible to find parking and there were very few available tables inside. Other than the large portions, they were also nice enough to heat my sandwich for me because I’m pregnant and can’t eat the cold cut deli meat(crazy rules). Hubby got their grilled chicken sandwich and the breast on that thing was HUGE, he ate a half and stared at it in awe. My husband is a big guy and he was shocked at how full he was and took the rest to have for a mid-afternoon snack. My friend got their chicken caesar wrap which he says he gets all the time there and is in love with, he also had a to-go box. We also snagged a berry dessert thing with blueberries that was seriously yummy, it had some cake in it and fresh berries and was not overly sweet which was perfect. They are not very fast, but honestly this could be because they’re just so packed. Definitely a good place to go for a simple lunchtime meal!

Caffe Caffe continues to get bumped down. It took 5 mins to bag a bagel(not toasted). Not a single person in line and 3 girls behind the counter. Yes, the bagels are in the kitchen not behind the counter, but someone should have the sense to ask for a bagel and throw it in a bag, not just wait for the kitchen to get to it! As for the bagels. They are from Artz so its not necessarily a knock on them but its a product they are serving so I’m reviewing it. I’m not a fan of their bagel. In fact I almost hate it. Its very dense and not at all chewy. Just a dense brick. The cinnamon bagel is bland. Not sweet and no trace of cinnamon. Although there are no other bagel options around here so if you want a bagel, I guess this is what you get. **After speaking with the staff, I was told that they freeze the bagels after weekly delivery. No wonder why they are stale! Who wants frozen bagels? DEMANDFRESHBAGELS people!**
