Where do I start? I’ve been a BIM member for about a year and a half now. My first class I was so intimidated watching the advanced girls thinking«How the hell are they so good?» and a year later I’m now one of those awesome polers! I’m even competing in my first competition soon! The environment here is so supportive from the instructors to the other students, everyone is there to help and watch you get better. I’ve heard of some other studios discriminating due to size or looks, but none of that here. We really are like one big family. The prices are crazy cheap. Seriously look at BIM compared to all the other pole studios in town online. Oh and let me tell y’all how ONPOINT my body is now! I have muscles in places I never knew I could have them! The reason I gave 4 starts and not 5 is because in the summer months the studio gets VERY hot which can be annoying when you’re too sweaty to stick to the pole.

No pain, no gain! My friends and I got the Groupon for Body in Motion… all first timers. We’ve gone to two classes and they’ve all been well attended. There are 7 poles, so it can be a pretty intimate class, but do not be intimidated! The room is pretty dark, cement floors, with a small disco light in the middle… music on blast! A very urban feel, not a sterile, bright studio. Sticks, a fun an sassy pole fitness instructor, is so much fun and he has amazing hair! He keeps the class lighthearted. The pole classes start out with some warm up stretches and floor exercises. They provide exercise/yoga mats for you, but they’re pretty beat up. Consider bringing your own. Sticks goes through a variety of pole fitness moves throughout the class, though he doesn’t get the opportunity to walk around much to help out each person. Exotic’s twerk class breaks down like this: 1⁄3 twerk, 1⁄3 workout, 1⁄3 pole. She’s a good instructor and provides clear direction on what to do. Don’t be afraid to ask questions!(Am I supposed to be clenching my butt or lifting my hip?) I really like how she forces each person to push themselves to their own personal best. Even in a class ranging from first timers to intermediate pole dancers, everyone got a good workout! Not sure if my booty will ever be able to bounce like hers, though! Having some baseline fitness is necessary to make the most of your first experience. If you can do 10 – 20 push-ups and 3 pull-ups, you’ll be pretty successful. Otherwise, it will just take a few classes to build that muscle. No matter how fit you are, you will be sore! Why not try something new?

You guys know me. I do not like working out. I do not run unless something is chasing me and I do not lift unless there’s wine in my glass. That being said… I love Body In Motion! Went for my first class and was immediately hooked. Never thought I’d enjoy something that made me so sore or so sweaty, lol. As much as I hate pull ups, when you’re doing them on a pole they’re a lot more fun. I’ve only been to the Pole fitness classes, that boot camp looks intense. Like too close to actual working out. I’m chicken, ya’ll. Country fried. All the ladies are super supportive, it’s a really good environment. There’s no reason to be nervous or scared. Most of us are struggling the same struggle… getting our legs to go the right way while keeping our butts off the floor.: D The classes are all fun and I’m definitely stronger now than I was before I started. The fun is what keeps me going back, cuz I sho’ll didn’t suddenly decide I like working out.
