Man, this place is a relic! This location has been around for years and I swear it hasn’t changed a bit in the last 10 years or so. The store is in desperate need of a big renovation… or just flat out needs to be torn down and rebuilt. All the displays are very outdated and half of the shelves were empty on my last recent visit. Is it because they are still empty from Christmas? I don’t know, but whatever the reason it was just abysmal lack of selection. How is it possible to be in a store dedicated to toys and three separate children don’t find a single thing they want? My nieces and nephew aren’t well off either… so they’re just not being picky because they have so much already. Just nothing stood out for them. It was a sad visit and I was disappointed we found so little worth purchasing. We’ll just have to go to a different location where they actually invest in themselves to make it look presentable and keep more toys on the shelves. This spot is off the list permanently for me, Mesquite!

I decided to go to this store for last minute Christmas shopping. To tell y’all the truth, I was very surprised how serviceable the employees were on finding me all of the toys that my kids had been asking for this year’s Christmas. Luckily with their help, I was able to find EVERYTHING!!! This place ROCKS!!! :) My kids will have everything that they asked for, and that there is PRICELESS!!!

Though I have children, I avoid toy stores, or should I say because I have children, I avoid toy stores? LOL I’ve gotten used to shopping online for many of the toys we buy for the girls… however, it’s not always practical… So, after making a promise to my dear little angels, I took them to *just look around and buy something«small”* at the Toys R US in Mesquite. I totally lucked out, there were only a very small amount of shoppers in the store. I guess I must have come at snack time or maybe everyone is buying back to school stuff and toys are the last thing on their minds… either way, it was nice to walk through a store and be able to contemplate what you want to purchase without a crazy crowd. The layout of the store is pretty people friendly, the prices were clearly marked, except that I was in disbelief when I saw clearance tags and the prices didn’t appear to be «clearance prices»…oh well, that is a little hangup of mine. I will go back again soon… my experience wasn’t tramatic! :0)
