OMG… What a joke and waste of time. We pulled up and there were worker vehicles only, I presume bc there wasn’t many. It was a Sunday evening and I didn’t want to cook plus I seen there sign«all you can eat catfish». We wer seated promptly and I decided against the«catfish» bc I was told it was nuggets so I ordered the steak and hubby ordered the«Catfish». The salad bar should not be called this bc there’s not much to it. Anyways, food comes out and something was missing off my plate, no biggie the waitress will go get it. By the time she came back my steak was cold. I took one bite and pushed it all away. Waitress was very helpful, in fact, spoke very poorly of the place. She tried to offer me other stuff and I just wanted out to go to Whataburger, the steak off our ticket and get back to my Sunday evening shows. Hubby ate his 1 and only plate of «all you can eat catfish». We drop a tip on the table and go to pay and of course I’m not paying for my meal bc I didn’t eat it. I will make a long story short, the police were called by the manager. We were outside whe n they pulled up and asked what happened. We give them our side and they go in this dump of a place to find out there side. They come back outside and said they didn’t blame us for not wanting to pay for what had not met my expectations. The cops words were«look around, see any vehicles here? There’s a reason for that». The waitress vouched for us and told the police she received a good tip. This was the 1st time I’ve had cops called on me for this. I don’t know who the owner is bc I was dealing w/the manager but I only imagine she was instructed by the owner to call the cops! So so glad I don’t know these people!!! DONTWASTEYOURTIME!

Great breakfast today. Weekday mornings are great. It seems late afternoon, evenings and weekends are hit and miss, but weekday mornings are always on. Steak and eggs are great!

Food is usually pretty good but restaurant could use a good cleaning. Have not seen a positive change in 2 years.

well let me start by saying that my first time going there was a great experience. The food was good and so was the service. I used to recommend other people to go and try. Well, my second experience was crap. My boyfriend and I went with high hopes. We sat down the waitress asked what drinks we wanted. She brought us our drinks and we were ready to order but she quickly walked away. After about ten minutes we were wondering where our waitress was. She was standing talking to other customers. Ten more minutes later we look back at her and she is SITTINGDOWN talking to this customer. I was just about to ask for another waitress when finally she came over. I was very polite and we ordered what we wanted. The food came out quickly and we began eating. I had a country fried steak which was good but kinda chewy. Hash browns were delicious. The eggs and toast were DROWNED in butter. I couldn’t eat the eggs it was so bad. As for my toast i would press it to the plate and the butter would seep out. It was disgusting. Then when she brought us our check she SATDOWNATOURBOOTH and my boyfriend had to scoot over for her. Our check was wet as well. We were finishing up our plate when one of the customers asked for the channel on the tv to be changed. And another person was standing in front of the tv and she said, quote, «Sir, CANYOUMOVE?» It was very unprofessional and I most likely won’t be eating there again.

For the 3rd and last time, I went to Steak Angus hoping for a quality steak, it is after all a steak house. I posted a pic of my steak here today, it is well under ½ inch thick, it is seasoned with Montréal Seasoning(most places take pride in their own unique flavors not store bought slop), and in order to get medium rare the cook can only leave the thin steak on the grill a minute… mine was near well done. The steak was a bit too large so God forbid I get a deal. Notice the squared off edges on my rib eye? the cook sliced off the well marbled portion and I got the dry fat free crap cut in a square and served dry. This is the norm for steak angus in Mesquite. Avoid this place! I am a resident of Mesquite and we just flat do not go there.

As loudly as they advertise the salad bar, it gives hope of the old Bonanza or even Wendy’s salad bars. Wrong! It is the most basic of salad bars. But it was fresh. I had the fried catfish for lunch & last I checked it should not be chewy. The vegetables were good & fresh. The steak was very thin & disappointing for my mother who was lunching with me. After two-three bites, she said she would take it home to the dog. Enuf said. Disappointing.

This place is horrible. It is obviously under new management & is NOTHING like it used to be. I was never more upset leaving a restaurant as I was with this place. The drinks are flat, the«salad bar» consists of lettuce, nasty looking tomatoes, cucumbers & nasty pastas. It took over 50 min. for 2 burgers & a meatloaf & even then the meatloaf looked disgusting & was drenched in tomato sauce & the burgers weren’t even the way I ordered. I WILLNEVERRETURNTOTHISESTABLISHMENT& I advise any one else not to either!

I travel to Texas a fair amount for business and try to find new restaurants if I can. I went here with coworkers for lunch. I ordered the all you can eat chicken fried steak. I was glad to be with coworkers who also ordered all you can eat specials. If I had been with my wife she would have given me a look and made retching sounds when I ordered my second helping. The best food item they serve is deep fried corn. Sounds odd but it is really really good. Ambiance is pretty utilitarian, definitely not decorated to enhance your food. Service was good, nothing spectacular. If you are in Texas and want to eat a whole lot of Chicken fried Steak, this is your place.
