I decided to stop by one day after passing by it so mucb for a few weeks. I was greeted by a very nice young lady. She was very freindly and helpful. All the staff was. As far as the food it was ok. The price was too much, especially since there is a Fuel City up the street charging less.

I wish I could say we had a positive experience. For starters, the girl working the register acted like she had better things to do… albeit the fact that the queso, chips, & house margaritas are great, the tacos were sub par. Not to mention, we had ONE taco left off the order because they needed to make it, said it would take a little longer. No problem! We understand… except for the next 20 minutes the employees goofed off. Eventually we asked, OH, they forgot! Whoops… we won’t be back.

Tried the Baja shrimp, beef fajita and a brisket taco. The tacos were good but too expensive. You can go other places and get good street tacos for $ 1… $ 2.25−2.75 is too much for a little taco. The queso and the guac are tasty but not enough chips, the ones we got were all broken into little pieces.

Not real impressed. Staff seems real disinterested, the prices are high for the quanity. If you want to try this place you need to hurry I don’t think it will be here long.

Mesquite is really close to Garland… where you can find street tacos(good ones) on almost any corner… So, to open a street taco place, I would think the tacos would be awesome. These were not… I had chicken, shrimp, and brisket. They were terribly small, which would be okay if they were at least good. The chicken and shrimp were edible… that is the best description I can give. The brisket was downright tasteless… If I did not know it was brisket, I could not have told you what kind of meat it was… it was that bland. I had an apple dessert one. That, surprisingly was good… but not good enough for R Taco to earn two stars. By the way, if you are accustomed to Rusty Taco(I am not), do know that this is not the same. The real reason I went in, actually, was because I thought I would be supporting a «smaller» business, but an employee told me they are owned by Buffalo Wild Wings, not Rusty, which is why they a R, not Rusty. The chips and salsa were good, as people have stated, but really… frying some corn tortillas and blending tomatoes, cilantro, peppers, onion, and lime… a taco place gets no credit for that… R serves over priced, bland little, wrapped up meats… calling them tacos are a bit of a stretch… there are so many places in Garland that serve great street tacos… a couple of them are filling stations. I see no reason to return to R Taco.

It’s a great place if you like cold tacos with leftover meat. With all the real taco places out there from Torchy’s to Fuzzy’s this place pales in comparison. While the service was Ok the tables were not clean so that wasn’t very good. Some of the ingredients were fresh except for the meat. I got the Texican with meat that was dry and clumped together that tasted like it was leftover. My wife got the fajita but was not impressed. A cold taco is a good reason never to return so you bet I won’t.

There are no words to describe the joy that these tacos bring me. And now they are within 15 from me, so I’m heading to the gym to burn enough calories to consume the yumminess of the yummilicious tacos! Don’t judge.

Pot, egg and cheese $ 2, Chirizo cheese egg 2.25, bacon egg cheese 2.25. Yummy sauces, but chorizo didn’t need any. Give them a try at 2 or up to 2.75 for brisket taco. They are not skimpy on the portions inside the tortilla. The guys on the grill were having fun doing their job and were very courteous as we carried conversation. There’s a bar with stools to sit, watch and eat your meal. Nice visit and we’ll be back to try more.

What a let down! My first trip to this new taco joint was last week. The experience was OK. I went back today and it was not OK. The tacos are mediocre, nothing to get excited about. I’m not complaining about the food though. The problem is the manager, James H. He is rude and needs some customer service training. R Taco is close and convenient but I won’t be going back. I’ll keep driving over to Torchy’s in Casa Linda to get my taco fix.

The employees were rude and did not really care about what I was asking them. The only reason for the 4 stars is the chips and salsa. They are great. The brisket tacos are okay but the tortilla was very cold. I would only go back for the chips and salsa.

So excited about the new addition to mesquite. It’s about freaking time something opens up in mesquite that’s not generic. Super stoked! Plus the energy is great :) — eating tacos at Rusty Taco Mesquite. Plus I love the dr. Pepper from Dublin, TX! Defintely coming back soon. The manager is awesome as well. Nice to see a stallion(NMHS) running the location with such pride and excitement.

Loved it! Renovated in the former Old Navy location, super clean and a nice layout. Super huge ceiling fans, which made it very chilly inside, especially for winter time. They have quite a selection of street tacos, which is nice. My favorite part is that they have vegetarian options… I’m vegan so I just had them hold the cheese. Very tasty! Their chips and salsa were delicious. The guacamole was a little bland but not bad. There are options to add potato, avocado etc on your tacos. My boyfriend ordered 5 different tacos and loved them all! He is super picky and a street taco connoisseur, so that is saying a lot. Not quite sure why the rating are so low here, other than this location just opened a couple of weeks ago. They have 3 salsas to choose from to top your tacos. A mild verse, a medium salsa, and a habanero salsas. We tried the two latter ones. Absolutely delicious. They also have beer and margaritas. I’d give 5 starts except the environment wasn’t ideal. Super cold inside. I wish we would have taken ours to go. The staff was friendly and helpful. We went at 1:45pm on a Saturday afternoon and it was moderately busy. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their food.

It was OK I ordered the grilled fish taco. The tortilla was cold but fish was OK. The sauce and red cabbage gave it some flavor. The chips were fresh the salsa and guacamole was really goodand fresh could use more heat in both as in spicy. Small tacos kinda overrated for the price and not fill them up with ingredients

Everything was so yummy! I recommend the chips and queso. The guacamole was fresh and REAL guacamole. Chips are free refills. The staff was polite and kept the place clean. Tacos were great. Love the pork and brisket. This is Rusty Taco, they just changed the name. It’s nice to have something different in Mesquite!

Went here around late afternoon and wasn’t too crowded. I liked the setup of the place. It had plenty of tables and easily accessible drink station. It was a bit too cold for me, but after wearing a jacket it was fine. The staff was nice as well. The food options were pretty good and tasted fine. I got the baja shrimp taco and fried chicken taco. Both was good, the only thing I didn’t like about it was the tortilla was cold and a bit hard around the edges. Overall, it was okay. It wouldn’t be my first choice if I wanted tacos.

The evening manager is rude. After I wanted my money back because I never received part of my meal, all I got was rude from the manager. The food is good, but several employees were worried more about their food than mine.

The evening manager is rude. After I wanted my money back because I never received part of my meal, all I got was rude from the manager. The food is good, but several employees were worried more about their food than mine. Update. I went back recently and they got my order wrong yet again. They just don’t care. So I left my uneaten meal on the table and went to Chipotle where they had no problem getting my order right.

We tried R Taco or Rusty’s tacos for the first time today. I’m not really sure which we ate at. The logo everywhere says R Taco yet the wall by the drinks says Rusty. Rebranding maybe? Anyway, we ordered 2 #11, #1, and a #3. They are small so if you’re not just in for a snack get two or more. But I digress. I guess the food is good. I can’t give you a decent idea since our taco meat was stone cold. This was strange to us, we came in at noon on a Saturday, only three orders were ahead of ours, and there were 2 cashiers, 1 person busing tables, and 4, yes 4 cooks back there. I’m not sure how 4 cooks take 16 minutes to make four small tacos that are not even room temperature. If I come back I’ll get it to go since I trust my microwave more than them.

I was looking forward to the grand opening of this location after I tried samples. I came for dinner and ordered the grilled chicken taco. To be honest it was just okay, the tortilla was cold and the meat was salty. On the bright side I also got the chips and salsa and it was very good!!! They have great salsa. I will probably stay away for a while and let them work out their kinks before trying it again.
