Worst place ever! I love my dogs too much to send them here. Both Dale the owner and Jennifer the employee are RUDE to their customers — I would hate to think what they might do to a dog that is not docile.

We always have such a positive experience here. Our Boston terrier «Meche» has been boarded and groomed here a number of times since we moved to the area.

I would give this establishment No stars if I could.
I have been taking my pets to be groomed here for years. I had a very bad experience today, I took my dogs in Wednesday to be groomed. When I picked them up they seemed fine however, I did notice one of my dogs went straight to her cage and stayed there. I just dropped them off at home and went off to a meeting. Thursday, I was in meetings all day from 10 in the morning until 10 that night. My dog is a miniature long-​haired Dachshund. My husband texted me that evening to tell me that one of the dogs was hurt. It looked like burn marks on her hind leg. We took her to the vet and he said, that it happened some time between the time she was groomed and the time I picked her up. I spoke to Dale Matthews, owner of P’etcetera, who was extremely rude! He insisted, (which was what I was expecting) that it did not happen at his shop. He trusted his groomers. The marks on my dog look like blow dryer burns. I spent $ 170 getting my dogs groomed, and then another $ 180 on a Vet bill, to get antibiotics and pain medication for my dog. I would not recommend this pet grooming service to anyone who loves their dogs. 10/​30/​2015
Petcetera Facebook is a joke. Just about all the reviews are several years old. They will not work with you! Dale Matthews is a rude individual, and told me,” take your dog’s some where else, if you don’t like my services, but I’m not going to give you your money back. «This was for a service they did not perform but I paid for. He wanted me to take my dog back, I said, No, are you kidding me after you burned my
dog.

Have been bringing my dogs here for about 10 years.. .Dale has the best groomers .
They are professional and compassionate.. I am so relieved whenever I pick up my two cocker spaniels knowing they will look fabulous. .They will do their best to fit your schedule and they’re done in about 3 hours. They don’t keep your pets in a cage for 5 or 6 hours as others have done.. .Highly recommend P’Etcetera.

Horrible place. Mistreated my dog. My dog had gashes on her face and a knot on her head when picked up and with little explanation and no refund. I will report them to the BBB.

This place did a terrible job! I paid $ 65 and when I picked him up he had hair all over him that wasn’t brushed off. Then saw numerous of long patches all over him. I told the guy about bad he said he wasn’t a groomer but would try, which he did but still looked worst that when I dropped him off. On the drive home I noticed his nails looked like a raptor with a long nail sticking out on almost all four paws. To top it off the manager I called on gross to complain to argued with me and gave me nothing but excuses! I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! I ADVISE YOU DO GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!

I really like this place. It’s at a great price and my miniature schnauzer always comes back to me in great shape and looking handsome! I can pay around $ 40 for full service here compared to going to Pet Smart or Petco and paying close to $ 75. I have read the other reviews and it seems that there could have been some bad apples that worked there previously, but I believe that the current employees are very friendly and helpful. They love my dog and I believe he is treated well. Lastly, I support small businesses, so that is another reason I chose to start coming here instead of the big-​name places.

#1 @ JodiC — Jennifer is adored by 99.99 999% of the customers (and their canine kiddos) at P’etcetera. She is pretty matter of fact, but she is always polite. YOU mistook rude for matter of fact because something didn’t turn out the way you wanted it to.
#2 @ Karrie A — Dale, the owner, was having his lunch. He is a heart attack survivor who is still recovering, gets tired very easily and when his blood sugar goes down needs to sit down and eat and rest. Shame on you, guess he should have stopped «stuffing his face» came over and helped you while trying not to pass out. He was not on duty, the manager was. When I saw those words I knew exactly what kind of person you are. Jumps to conclusions and pretty self centered. How would you know what is going on in a situation that has nothing to do with you? Shot records can be really confusing, not all vet offices have the same format and the front desk has to figure out from often incomplete or sometimes jumbled records just exactly what is going on. So they should have just passed this dog into the boarding kennel without knowing for sure it has current vaccinations just so you could be waited on faster. Not. No dog is allowed into the kennel without the required vaccinations, for their protection and YOUR dogs protection. To be groomed they only require what the City of Mesquite requires for your dog to be out in public… a rabies tag. As for the groom… all the groomers (for that matter all the employees) are lifelong dog lovers, most with many years of experience and do the best they can in every situation. Your elderly dog seemed to not have been real happy with being groomed, was stressed out, panting alot and could not stand comfortably for long without moving around alot or just plain sitting down. They are going to do the best they can shaving her while staying within an acceptable parameter of comfort for an elderly dog. Sometimes they just have to go «…that’s it I’m not stressing her any further let’s get this done as best as possible and hope the owner can understand.» Her legs were soaked because she was panting while waiting to be picked up. Pant drool is not fun, our dog drools like a fountain when he is kenneled and always has nasty front legs that we have to wipe off when coming out of a kennel. Doubt they were going to rebathe your elderly dog that had already had enough, instead of just wiping the legs with a towel. Further, did the snapping dog chase you through the parking lot where you could not stop and look her over?
#3 @ Danielle H — Dog grooming involves a soft moving (sometimes rapidly moving) object coming into contact with a surgically sharp instrument. Cuts do happen on occasion. In the place you indicated, more than likely there was a mat (small or large, you would be surprised how big behind the ear mats can be) that when shaved off pulled the skin up into the blade and cut it. It was probably overlooked by the groomer because the skin would have laid back into place behind the ear. They would not try and «hide» that your dog was cut. Standard procedure is to treat the wound and notify the owner upon pickup. The groomers LOVE dogs and take it personally and to heart for a long time if one is injured during their groom. Accidents do happen and trust me it affects the groomer much more than it does the owner.
No one is being rude and no one is being furtive, and certainly no one is cutting or grooming a dog badly on purpose. They do a hard (physical and sometimes emotional) job that you can not or do not want to do for yourselves at home and sometimes for way not enough pay. There should be a national dog groomers day.

If I could, I’d give this place NO stars but it’s making me at least do 1! I brought my 11 & ½ year old Lab in on Saturday 9÷15÷12 to be groomed. A price tag of $ 70.36, Here’s what I got: When we arrived we had to wait for about 5 minutes for someone to come help us, while an older man (who I assume now is Mr. Dale Matthews), the owner, was stuffing pizza into his face not helping customers. There was a customer at the counter being told her dogs shots were out of date, when they were in fact good for 2 more years. I wasn’t even asked for my dogs shot records before allowing her to be groomed (this was our 1^st & last visit). My dog was shaved (at my request) however I asked that her head and tail be BLENDED. Not only was it NOT it is all hacked up and uneven looking (I WISH I could post a picture for all to see). My doggy looks like Stevie Wonder cut her hair. It’s horrible! Oh but there’s more. Her paws about ½ way up her legs were soaked, I was not sure if this was water or urine so I had to take her home and clean them just to be sure, hold on, I’m not done. Her ears were not cleaned either! I checked them before I left the house and when we got back. I contacted the owner and told him I’d like a partial refund since I ASSUME they washed her… He told me NO, but they’d «straighten out the blend line». Awesome so now the «line» would be in the MIDDLE of my dog’s head, so she can look more ridiculous than she already does. I told him that is not acceptable, I did NOT get what I paid for. He then informed me the groomer said because of my dog’s tumor it was impossible to give a smooth cut, My dog has tumors on her STOMACH, NOT HER HEAD! You couldn’t pay me to go back to this place. Shame on me for trying something cheaper than what we normally use. Guess my mama was right… YA GET WHAT PAY FOR! We were unable to «look her over» when we picked her up as another customer’s dog growled and tried to bite my dog’s face so we rushed out.

We took our golden retriever here… and regretted it. She came out looking fine, but when we brought her home we noticed gnats around her. The groomer had cut her badly behind her ear and it was bleeding. The didn’t tell us or put anything on it to stop bleeding or clean it. When I called they very casually informed me that this happens a lot and I could buy some product they sold to apply. I was really mad because after cutting my dog and sending her home without treating it, they wanted me to BUY something to treat her! No thanks P’Etcetera! Next time I will just take my dog somewhere they don’t cut her or care enough to notify me if they do.

For the past 3 – 4 years this is where we have boarded our «puppy» when we travel. She is a 5 year old Maltipoo. I love the fact that she is so clean and happy when we pick her up, with a themed bandanna around her neck.
We use this facility for her maintenance needs as well. The employees have all been friendly and knowledgeable about her and her visits there. They also have items to purchase for your pet, but will tell you cheaper, or «better» places for some products;admitting they are a bit pricey and carry these items for convenience sake.

Just picked my puppy up after three days of boarding and grooming. Price tag 90.00. I believe this is a pretty good rate-​although I have to admit I haven’t done alot of comparison shopping. My pooch never likes to be away from home but she seems a little less traumatized here then she has at a couple of other places I have taken her.
They have always done a great job at grooming her-​even when I have gone too long between visits. She looks adorable and they always put a very cute bandanna on her. Most importantly to me they do a great job on her nails-​something I fear doing myself. The people all seem friendly and appear to be real pet people.
The grounds and the building itself have always been clean and do not have the odors that could come with with less than stellar cleaning. Overall I would have to say I have never had a bad experience there and I trust them to take good care of my puppy.
