Keom Fm 88.5 Mesquite Radio Station

For persons of a certain age, this station can’t be beat. A great mix of hits that make Baby Boomers swoon. A fair amount of public service announcements and really good DJ’s. My wife turned me on to this station years ago. If our car radio had speed dial KEOM would be #1.

November 2013 and this is STILL the best station on the radio!

I just love this station! I was introduced to KOEM by one of my division managers who spends a large part of his day in the car. One afternoon when I had to ride along with him for several hours, he had this station on the entire time.
Not only do I enjoy the 70s/​80s music (you will know the words to all the songs) but the periodic news segments are wonderful. I had no idea stories about bird’s nests, shooting stars and ice cream cones could be so enjoyable, but the innocence and enthusiasm of their reporting is refreshing. It’s sort of like radio versions of 3−2−1 Contact and Mr. Wizard’s World, all rolled into one with a toe-​tapping soundtrack.
You’ll hear the young voices of the Mesquite ISD student DJs throughout the day — take note, they very well might be your future NPR reporters!

Ah, cheezy 1970s hits. What’s not to like about a radio station where you can hear Afternoon Delight and get casserole recipes?
KEOM, the Mesquite Community Radio Station, plays nothing but ‘70s pop – and with that limited a playlist, DJs sometimes has to go deep. Going deep into disco is not always a good thing, but who can resist To Be Real? The station also airs little informational spots, interviews with local notables, and HS football games.
With DJs-​in-​training from the local school district (kids who were not even twinkles in their parents’ eyes when these hits first aired), KEOM has a charming «hey kids, let’s put on a radio station» vibe but manages to get me singing in the car. But then, I have no shame.
