The Door & Trim Store

I placed an order and paid for it on September 29 and the gentleman on the phone informed me it would be ready to pick up that day but I asked if my contractor would be able to pick it up the next morning. He said it would be available and when my contractor arrived the next morning he was told they had sold out. I am confused at how a business can take an order and have you pay yet sell the product you paid for? When I called to ask what happened they informed me that somebody the day before came and picked up 800 lineal feet and from the sounds of it it was after I had already placed my order. I wouldn’t have even been upset if they had called me after The product went out of stock to tell me it would be one extra day and till it was available. Instead my time was wasted and my contractor is charging me extra gas for his first trip to pick up the baseboards. Good prices but never worth the bad business.

If there was a way to not have any stars, I would have granted that. This place deserves negative stars.
VERY VERY VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and VERY RUDE employees.
I purchased some baseboards and corner rounds from this place. I realized I was short 11 of the corner rounds, ordered an additional 15 on ⁸⁄₂₆. I was told that they would be there on ⁸⁄₂₇ or ⁸⁄₂₈ by the latest. I arrived to pick up the corner rounds on the morning of ⁸⁄₂₈ only to find out that they forgot to order. No one called me to tell me that they forgot to order or «missed the truck», which seems to be their ammo (I actually called on ⁸⁄₂₇ to see if they arrived and they told me that my shipment missed the truck– wow. How about being honest and say that they forgot to order). I had installers coming to finish the job on Friday, ⁸⁄₂₉ but no one there seemed to care or wanted to compensate at all for their lack of performance. These people are seriously rude and don’t want to help in any way. My husband went to pick up the corner rounds today and to the same treatment I did. They are sure fast to take your money, but won’t do a thing about helping you out when they forget to order your product and cause problems with your installers. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS! Just take a look at their BBB record. There are now 3 complaints about this business and they are not accredited by the BBB. Go figure. Do you your homework before buying from this place.

Highly recommend this place, i was able to get a new front door installed in just a few days before moving out of state to replace my old one that had a dog door installed in. They did a excellent job in keeping me updated on the progress of the order and setup. Once the door was ready Kevin was able to come to the house before i had to leave for work and do the install. Kevin transferred the existing hardware knobs handles and hauled away the old door. Very professional team all around and you can always be assured the job will be done right the first time

We recently decided to undertake renovating a house that had been owned by my grandparents for 40 plus years. What began as a plan to «update» the house turned into «rebuilding» the house when we discovered that there was significant termite damage. The damage required us to basically tear the house down and start over. Despite having hired a contractor, the process turned into a complete fiasco.
When it was time to drywall the newly framed walls it was discovered that no doors or windows had been ordered. In a panic I began contacting door and window contractors in an effort to get the house closed up as soon as possible. After several meetings with both window and door companies, I had been assured that it was going to take a minimum of 6 — 8 weeks to get what I needed.
After another discouraging meeting with a supplier, I was driving through Mesa and saw The Door and Trim Store. On a whim I pulled in. I was greeted by Tobin Rudd. I told him about my situation and instead of telling me that my timeline would be impossible to meet, he offered encouragement and said that not only could they help with doors, they could also get windows in about 10 days.
I gave Tobin a copy of the blue prints and he got right to work. It turns out that Tobin has a design background and appreciates the history of the house we were working on. It was so nice to finally have someone who not only could help with what we needed but who was as excited about the project as we were. Tobin offered suggestions and advise that we needed and sincerely appreciated. His knowledge and experience were invaluable. He listened to our thoughts and ideas and completely understood what we wanted. The front door that he put on our house is amazing. The interior doors were designed with the original architecture in mind and are exactly what we wanted. The windows took a fraction of the time that every other suppliers said they would take. Tobin had the windows installed quickly so the drywall installation could proceed.
We were so happy with the doors and windows that we also ordered the interior trim for the house and that turned out great too. We had no idea what type of trim would look best and, once again, we were able to rely on Tobin’s design knowledge to lead us in the right direction. We couldn’t be happier with the result.
Anyone needing doors, windows, trim, hardware or cabinets should look no further. The Door and Trim Store will be able to meet your needs. Their products are quality, the price is very reasonable and the service is unbeatable.

Finishing up my first remodel project and now, I realize I could have saved a lot more on the first project if I would have gotten quotes from Door and Trim store on everything.
1. Doors — Save $ 10 per 6 panel door compared with Home Depot
2. Trim — Don’t remember how much I saved, but the math was obvious
SHOULD HAVE:
3. Windows — Would have saved an extra $ 1000, but it was too late
4. Trim (Brushed Nickel)
— a — Self closing (Brushed Nickel) hinges $ 8.52 instead of $ 16.79 at Home Depot
— b — Towel Rack, Toilet Paper Holder, full bath trim — CHEAPER
— c — Door knobs internal and external, Hinges — MUCH CHEAPER
Plus this is a nice small business no need for orange aprons. It seems family owned. Everything they sell is there in one room. Stan, Josh and few others may all be related. Everyone is very amiable.
DOWNSIDE:
They are busy. Everyone who does math on their projects comes here to save money. Especially those in the construction industry. So you may find, service can be a bit slow or Door & Trim may be slow to report your large order has arrived. So remember the dates they tell you and follow up. I think the store is just that busy.
Although the service might be slow, it is friendly so I still give 5 stars overall, because saving money is my favorite thing to do. This a great store for anyone doing a project on a budget.
