Sucks to be me — 39 and showing as a «regular» at the cardiologist. I have the most check-ins at this location. Yeah, me! I visited this office early in the week for a preliminary office visit. There were no other patients in the waiting room, although I did have to wait for the doctor to see me. I knew he was with another patient, so that told me that he actually spent time examining and discussing his findings. He reviewed my medical chart and paid particular attention to the family history. He performed some checks, commented that my blood pressure medicine has kept that in check and he would be interested to see the blood test results my primary doctor requested I complete in a few more weeks. Given the history and the symptoms I have now, he recommended a holster ECG machine and a stress test. A second visit to the office and a nurse helped me with the holster which I had to wear for 24 hours(unfortunately that included a Unilocal OYE) — but the machine was cool. I thought it would be huge, but it looked only like a large pager. I should have put on my costume of Alan from the Hangover and asked if the hospital was pager friendly — not getting a sig’ on my beeper… The nurse was very nice, explained the operation of the device well and provided instruction for my upcoming stress test. I dropped the machine back off and she talked to me to determine if I had any problems or questions. Good service and explanations. I am not looking forward to being injected with nuclear medicine and being made to run on the treadmill, but hopefully that won’t be so bad… As far as cardiologists go, this Doc was very personable and knowledgeable. If you are in the East Valley, give him a look.
