History

Established in 1999.

Predators Reptile center started as a hobby in 1999 and quickly grew into a business of breeding reptiles, importing reptiles, promoting reptile trade shows as well as our new retail store. We breed and import most of our animals. We cut out the middle man to be able to give you a great value for your hard earned money. What we don’t breed and import ourselves we obtain directly from the breeders we have met while promoting our reptile trade shows so we can offer a wide selection of animals and products not usually offered. Predators also has an exotic vet on staff that takes care of our animals so we can offer the highest quality and healthy pets. We believe in offering a comfortable, professional and fun atmosphere where everyone from the beginner reptile keeper to the professional breeder can enjoy this wonderful trade.

Hi, I just wanted to shout out how awesome and helpful the team at Predators Reptile Center is! I own a snake so I constantly purchase my rats there and each time I go everyone is so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. In the past I had purchased a large aquarium from them and I goofed up one day and placed my lamp over the middle glass to open the aquarium and oops, it cracked. I went back in and talked to the manager and he was so kind and took care of it at no cost and I am extremely grateful. They’ve even waited for me with a rat ready at the front counter at closing time once when I was rushing to get over there before they closed. Wonderful place with a great variety of reptiles and my kids get mad at me if I go without them while they’re at school. Thank you Predators Reptile Center, YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

Disclaimer: I have not purchased from here. I was looking for a class pet for my husband, who is a teacher, possibly a gecko.
The associate was really nice and informative. The cages were clean and the animals looked healthy. They breed their own feeder rats which is great for quality control and consistency which can be good for picky snakes and other herps.
A really good shop overall I would purchase from here. The only reason we did not purchase is because my husband decided on fish for his classroom.

I went to their booth at the Tuscon reptile show. They have the best crested geckos there. They also gave me some helpful tips on how to care for them. I got a baby one that is really healthy. This is the best reptile store ever!

I recently and unexpectedly became the brand new owner of a small box turtle after one stumbled into my backyard. After getting the confirmation from a herpetological society that I couldn’t release it back into the wild, I went browsing at Petsmart but couldn’t find anything very substantial for turtles. A Unilocal search subsequently directed me to Predator’s Reptile Center.
The shop is small-​ish, but they pack a lot in the space they have. They have an entire wall of various reptiles, and various terrariums, accessories, and food for your cold blooded friend. I picked up some box turtle food, a food dish, log burrow, and calcium block. Prices are reasonable and cheaper than what I saw at Petsmart for the exact same product.
Service was excellent. You can tell the employees and owner put a lot of care into the shop and everyone here was very helpful and friendly.

Best place in mesa and I’ve been to them all. These guys really know what’s up. I love coming here and learning new stuff everytime. And they really do have something new everyday. The owner is a great guy as well.

I was so impressed with this reptile store this evening. I was having some issues with my rosy boa and called the store to get their opinions on the issue, well the owner actually offered me to bring him in so he can have a better look! It meant so much to me for him to offer that! Anyways turns out he is fine and it was an easy fix. HUGE thanks to the predators team and especially the owner who took so much time to focus on my guy. And ended up saving me a lot of money vs going to the vet! I will definitely return for all my reptile needs in the future. :)

Best reptile shop in the state :) Christian is the greatest guy in the world! He always has answers to my questions about reptiles, he always has a great selection, the shop is extremely well put together. Predators is my favorite reptile shop. I have nothing but good things to say about this shop!

I come here on a regular basis. this is a fairly nice reptile store. However every time I come in they are rearranging or unpacking a new delivery or something like that up front that makes it look a mess in there. Often they greet you at the door as you walk in and ask «can i help you with something?» within 2 seconds of walking in which kind of rubs me the wrong way. I like to walk in and be greeted with a «hi» or ‘welcome” and once I look around for a moment, then the question «need any help?» seems more helpful then impatient. When confronted like that I feel like they are suspicious of me simply browsing around and just want me to buy what I came for and leave. A few times they’ve had cool feeder insects, but lately they don’t! Even when they claim they will have some in «next week» they never do. I just went in there to see if they had any new stuff after the big reptile show this weekend and surprisingly they had nothing set out just a bunch of new empty tanks I was expecting them to have a variety of new stuff I was pretty disappointed.

Hands down best reptile store I have shopped at. The owner is typically in the store and is very knowledgeable in his trade. I purchased the full setup for an Aru Green Tree Python. After pricing and researching for months I found Predators to be priced as, if not better, than online pricing without the cost of shipping. Being a small shop in comparison to a Petco or Petsmart his prices were better and the customer service and knowledge well surpassed anything you would expect. Thanks again for the awesome experience and one hell of a badass setup. Predators is as legit as it gets.
Also, in response to some of these poor reviews on here… Stupid is as stupid does. Common sense is somewhat hard to come by these days so don’t blame a store for your mistakes its sad enough your pets have to suffer your insolence. Side note… Chihuahuas are stupid and if cost effective, would rather feed that to a snake than a bunny rabbit.

I do enjoy this store a lot. I purchased a female veiled chameleon here who unfortunately became very ill within the first few days. The owner was extremely helpful and agreed to take her to the vet on his dime. Turned out that the poor girl was too far gone and was humanely euthanized. He insisted that we took another female veiled free of charged and checked up on her when I came back for crickets… And about the crickets! They are much more economically priced for what they are than most places… That is when they have the right size in stock ;) over all, the main guy is quite knowledgable… The younger assistant has fed me some bs before, but I now know to ask the correct person.

I don’t know if I was in on a bad day or not but the entire store had a nasty odor and all the smaller reptile cages were filthy. The snake cages weren’t bad beside a few having shed still left in there. Also the variety wasn’t what I expected. I went last year to this store and it was fine so I don’t know what has changed since then.
I think I will visit twice more to see if I was just in on a bad day or if they have really gotten that bad.

My son is always asking to go here… everytime! He has no concept of places closing down for the day or the evening. Could care less for that matter.
He was so ecstatic to find his African Giant Millipede here he bought with his own savings… and gladly did so. We also bought Leo, our Leopard Gecko, who since departed us, RIP. They keep the animals clean and healthy. The last time we went, there was a stench that I didn’t care for. I hope it was just that day, coz that made me queasy. While the smell will not deter my little cutie pie from coming here with hubby, if the smell persist, I will be next door at Aquarium Arts. Hubby once wanted to get this exotic blue mantid, but decided to pass because of the $ 40 price tag. Oh, I thought the violin mantid was fascinating! If you have a future entomologist, this is the only place we have found in the valley that carry a variety of arthropods.
This is a highly recommended place for your reptile needs too!

I can’t believe that two of the best reptile stores in Arizona are only a couple miles apart. This store doesn’t have the variety in lizards and tortoises that Arizona Reptile Center has, but they make up for it by selling a ton of different snake morphs. They have many different types of pythons, boas and colubrids. The most impressive animals we noticed on our last trip were the Caiman lizards. They are beautiful animals even though they are a little too expensive for me at $ 1500 each. The other animals were fairly priced and in good condition.
