Piefection

I’ve been here a few times and have enjoyed the pies. But I feel like I’ve actually had better pies from Village Inn for way cheaper price. I’ve also been confused before why I was always charged more for the pie than what was advertised on the menu… then I read another review that they charge an extra dollar for the pie tin. I know they see it as a «deposit» as they give you a dollar back for bringing them back the pie tin, but I thought that was more of a refund to the customer to thank them for continued business, I didn’t know they were charging me a dollar extra for it in the first place haha! I recommend the company advertise the price of the pie with the pie tin included! I laugh at even having to make that recommendation… can you imagine if a pizza place charged you extra for the pizza box unless you returned it? Just seems like a poor business model, to nickel and dime the customer for a pie tin. Again, just advertise the pie with the pie tin included!
For comparison, their key lime pie is $ 17 (oh wait, $ 18 with the pie tin…) vs Village Inn at $ 12 (they include their pie receptacles in the price :). I’m sure the ingredients are probably better quality, but I can’t really tell the difference.
I like to support small businesses, but can’t stand poor business practices with the misleading advertising on the pie prices.

My Dad has been going on and on about how wonderful the pies are here. My sister and I are down from Canada for the week and stopped in to grab dessert for our friends. The young lady that served us was fantastic and the pie was amazing!

We finally stopped in after months of driving by and we absolutely love their pies. We have tried their chocolate cream pie and their Georgia Peach and they were both great. We can’t wait to try the rest that they offer. Highly recommended!

I’m sure they make some really good pies but I bought 4 of the daily slices of pie and they were eh. One of them I didn’t even eat.

I was very pleasantly surprised to receive an email from Cheryl, the owner of Piefection. She wanted to make things right after my disappointing previous experience. Well she certainly did! She personally delivered a fresh strawberry pie to my home this evening! Wow! That is why Piefection does so well — they really listen and care. Many thanks again Cheryl — we will be back to buy many more pies!

This place is so amazing. The pie is on point. Fresh tasting, great ingredients. The store front is super clean. Great service with a smile. The girls are inviting and friendly. If you’re in the area and craving something sweet and delicious; Definitely, make this a stop.

I wanted to give this a 5 star rating but… we were given the wrong pies. We ordered 6 green chili pork pies. Our mouth were watering for them. We cooked them up and cut into them only to discover that they were the chicken pot pies. Boo! While they were delicious, they were not what we had ordered. So so sad. Maybe we will try again…

We have been there twice now and spent over $ 100 each time. Their pot pies are good and a decent size, a little pricey considering Marie Calendars are half the cost and equally delicious. Their cream pies (we’ve tried them all) are very good but a bit pricey too. The lemon cream cheese is my favorite, it’s wonderful, but my family loved the coconut cream and it was gone the same day. The only problem I had was that the crust seemed to not be cooked all the way or cooked too much or had too much flour or something in it so it was impossible to cut and serve a piece of pie, the crust just crumbled and we ended up with a blob of really good pie on our plates. All the cream pie crusts had the same issue this last visit and we bough 3 of them. The fruit pies are also very good and serve up nicely. The shop is well decorated and very clean, the staff was amazing, friendly, happy and very customer service oriented. It’s a bit of a trek for us but a few times a year worth the drive. I recommend their pies.

I’d probably give my rating a 3.5 if I could.
I visited the shop for my first time on National Pizza Day… Tempted by the ads I was seeing on Facebook for pizza pot pie. I was a little off put when looking at some of the dessert pies in the show cases because they looked a little old. I had contemplated getting one of the chocolate dipped strawberry pies for Valentines, but the strawberries and raspberries on it looked very old. I’m not sure if that was because it was just a show pie to show what it looks like vs the actual pie one would get.
I was excited for dinner and my pizza pot pies. I got them frozen and followed the directions to bake them. While they were fairly good, all 3 of us who ate one agreed that they were very soupy inside. There was a lot of liquid and it was more eating pizza soup. I did enjoy the crust though, but was disappointed it didn’t line the whole pie tin.
I might try them again at some point, but the pies are very pricey and I’m not sure the quality is something I can’t get elsewhere at lower cost.

pretty good pie, I also had the pot pie, which was mediocre. Odd location, felt like I went in someones house. Limited selection, near closing time. Have had better Pricey

The rolls are seriously the best. The pies are delicious and fresh. Good store hours and convenient location with friendly service. Moderate to expensive pricing, but worth it.

Cheryl is awesome!!! she made everything so much better. the pies were amazing!
tried the harvest pumpkin, lemon Meringue, and apple. the crust just perfection, and the customer service 2^nd time around everyone was so nice and inviting. Cheryl takes very good care of her customers. I definitely will be back for all my pie needs.

I received a comment promptly back from the owner of the business apologizing for the experience. I will return to this place for many more pies in the future. In hindsight, many of the problems experienced during my visit can be contributed to it being the holiday season and the large number of people in a small area all wanting the same thing. I am willing to admit when I was wrong and will say that having drove three hours to pick up pie for the upcoming holiday and being overwhelmed by everyone’s behavior in the store at the time led to a harsher review than what was deserved.
Initial Review:
It was my first and last visit to this establishment. Staff was rude. There is no order to this place. Just mass chaos with people cutting in front of others. I opened the case to get an Arizona Orange and a young girl came up in front of me and grabbed it. Staff said more were coming out from the truck. I was paying and asked if there was more. Told they were sold out and asked for a bag for my pies because everyone else was getting one. Lady rolled her eyes and then gave me one. Horrible experience.

I was initially very upset after my first visit to Piefection. There was some miscommunication about the availability for a certain type of pie. Cheryl reached out immediately and apologized for the experience. She offered one of the kindest gestures I have seen. The day before Thanksgiving, she delivered two Kentucky Derby pies to my house to make up for the previous visit. Huge thanks to Cheryl, you have made a lifelong customer!
On to the important stuff. The pies were the best that I have ever had. We got two Kentucky Derby pies and two Pecan pies. They were the hit of Thanksgiving and were absolutely delicious. The crust on the pies is perfectly light and flaky. These Kentucky Derby pies were better than the ones from Kentucky, and that’s pretty darn impressive. Pecan pies were quite incredible as well. I can’t say thank you to Cheryl enough, you really made my Thanksgiving! Absolutely fantastic pies and customer service. I am forever grateful and will surely be back many times.

Over 20 $ for average pies is crazy. … Was Very disappointed and be aware that you have to pay an extra 1 or 2 for the pie tin it comes in as basically like a deposit. The staff was nice. Very overpriced and underwhelming

As a Fathers Day whim, I wanted a Pie. Since no one in my family has the foggiest idea what to buy me, I get my own presents. I end up happy that way.
This year had me wondering where I could get a good pie without driving to Rock Springs. Oddly enough I was looking for a BBQ place I thought was at Power and Brown, but instead I found «Piefection» on the map. I was instantly interested. I looked at their menu and changed my Saturday plans to fit a run out East to get a Pie.
What did the trick was seeing Savory Pies. So hard to find good ones.
I picked up 5 savory pies. Loved the Green Chili Pork. Would be perfect with a little thicker sauce.
Then I had a hard time choosing a sweet pie. So I went with a Key Lime. Next will be the Orange. The Key Lime was Fantastic! I wish my metabolism could handle Pie for every meal. But them I’d have to move much closer to the store.
I also sampled a Coconut Crème slice when I left. So tummy! I’m getting hungry again just thinking about another one as I write this.

Great homemade pies! Just a little pricey (4.5 stars for the price). I purchased 3 pies for $ 45. Love all their pies that I have had so far. They use quality ingredients. Only place that I have found that has quality pies.
The strawberry rhubarb was the perfect amount of sweet and tangy. The presentation was really cute. Love the heart in the middle.
We also had the banana cream pie. I love banana cream pies, so this was really amazing. This was the one I was craving for and it hit the spot. Presentation made me want to eat it more. It was like eating clouds!
The last one we had was the black and white pie. DOUBLE LAYER CHOCOLATE with RUM cream. How could that not be amazing?!
Definitely will go back again when I’m craving pies.

So I was looking for pie for my wedding. So I called beforehand to see which ones I could freeze because it is quite far from our location. The lady I spoke with– was simply fantastic answered all my questions. So my fiancé and I made the trek down to Mesa… 30 miles.
We walk in, it was apparently slice day. My fiancé loves key lime pie. I was intrigued by the orange pie. So we each got a slice… might as well try before you buy the entire pie.
The lady who picked out the pie was sweet and nice. That was good. But the lady who checked us out was cold, rude, and a bit rushed… at that point it was only us an another customer. She also griped about a customer who wanted a «double crust» pie. In front of other customers so you know that’s great… not.
We got our pie (without a fork, no asking if we wanted one or anything) I take a bite into my pie, it was okay kind of confusing flavor so I took a bite of my fiances key lime. Let’s just say they were way too similar. The crust and the whipped cream was great. The filling was more so– eh.
We decided at that point to leave without a good bye or see you soon.
If we choose to go by again if we are in the area, maybe fix a few things, try some customer service. and a more strong orange flavor.
My service still holds true to the other pie place up north, I wont name names but you get the idea.

Other than my beloved Grams’ famous cherry pie, this was one of the best I’ve had. The tart Michigan cherries made us homesick for the Upper Peninsula and the crust was rich and flaky. Delicious! Can’t wait to try the rest!

I went here for some gift certificates and walked out with a pie to boot. I simply couldn’t resist. I decided to try one of their signature pies, the Lemon Blueberry Sour Cream pie and holy smokes, it was amazing! Served it after dinner with friends and everyone loved it. I will definitely be returning soon. And will go even sooner if my wife doesn’t catch me.
