Nissle Photography History…
What a wonderful ride it has been for our family to travel from 1945 to present day capturing photographic memories for our friends and family!
It all started with my Uncle Fred who linked up with Clifton’s cafeteria in Los Angeles. He created a photography studio where he hired young women to photograph patrons having a meal at Cliftons. The «Camera Girls» would take their group photograph, sell them prints and then the darkroom staff would develop and mail the B&W’s to them. My Aunt Marion took care of the books for the new business.
My father, Ken Nissle, was serving in the South Pacific and used his cigarette rations to buy film instead. Fred sent him some needed photography supplies and he began selling photos of the islands he took to the other sailors. When Ken arrived back in the states he stepped into the business with his brother and sister!
