Mesa Market Place Swap Meet

We didn’t know what to expect going to this swap meet but it was great. It was bigger than we thought it would be. I love that it was in a large tent, in shade because I can’t imagine lasting at this swap meet in the hot weather. It reminded me of one of the «flea markets» here in California, that sells mainly new ish items. There was a lot to see, and it really helped us kill time. Free admission and free parking.

Fun place to go and enjoy looking at things with my grandparents, they have really good smoothies, the raspberry razzler is really delicious!

We have stopped here many times over the years. It is a hot spot for visitors to the Valley, and of course snow birds. This place is only open on the weekends and is quite crowded. There are 4 buildings, and vendors ranging from home improvement, plants, yard art, food, clothes, shoes, purses and beyond. There are ATM machines, indoor restrooms and an entertainment stage with live entertainment. There is a food stand that offers food and drinks for a reasonable price. The pa r king here is a nightmare.

We have been here several times over the years. I probably haven’t reviewed it yet because for a «flea market» it’s pretty average. Kind of reminds me of 7 mile fair in Kenosha Wisconsin. It’s big. Nearly 2 miles total if you walk both sides of a 4 buildings. The trouble is by the time you get 12 way through the second building, it’s deja vu. There are all the same things again only a different vendor. You may or may not get a better deal at the other one. The buildings are open air and can get pretty toasty when the weather gets warm. Parking is adequate if you don’t care about parking in the back 40. It gets pretty crowded during tourist season. We always manage to find one or two items that are treasures. We usually make an annual pilgrimage to this place to replenish our Watkins products, or pick up another piece of Tupperware,

We used to love coming on the weekends but, no pets allowed? Like that is stupid. It’s outside. I’m not leaving my dog in a car while I go look at random stuff. Would have liked to have known that we couldn’t bring pets. Won’t come here again

First if all, its a rip, mostly for snowbirds like flys running into a spiders web.
BEWARE, of the bait and switch on the vinagar and olive oil stand, its a good bait and switch, the sample he gives you is the real thing, but what you get into the bottle is watered down vinagar, this guy is a con artist, i am italian so i know!!! So BEWARE!

One of our favorite stops whenever we are in Mesa! We always start in row D so we can check our the new vendors!

Off-​beat and fun + ridiculously large. My mom loves going here when I visit. Last week, I got: a Tibetan Prayer a flag, a purse organizer, a beautiful scarf, and some cutlery my brother had requested. My mom got some cute Arizona appropriate wear. Loads of as seen on tv items and weird things you never imagined you needed. Can also frequently find «Unofficial» NFL wear. They also have Wisconsin cheese and little gourmet sauces and dips as well as high end golf carts and outdoor furniture. Tons of jewelry – both high and low end. Be wary of high end prices and make sure you know what sort of quality you are buying… especially if prices are not marked. The people watching is unrivaled, and everyone is nice. Enjoy!

Everything from dollar store items to high end lawn art. Open air but covered from the sun. Huge space, many rows of vendors. $ 3 ice cold beer pints! Shopping and beer – love it!

I love the Mesa Swap Meet. However I m warning everyone who is a jewelry lover as I am stay away from Desert Diamonds they sell sub par jewelry lie to you and do not stand behind their product. The employees are rude and do not question them about there warranty they will call security on you an tell you to move on. I was treated like a criminal because i questioned a faulty ring I purchased a month ago.

I’ve been shopping there for about ten years on and off and you can definitely find cool products not found in dept stores.
Here are some things to remember before plunking down your cash.
1– multiple vendors sell the same products at wildly different prices
2– most vendors have a no refund policy. Exchange only
3– the place is huge and you can get lost.
4– believe it or not, i just saw a pair of flip flops there for 150.00 so keep your head on a swivel and be smart.
5– during snowbird season, the place is a zoo… literally !
6– dont be a goober and try to park in the nearest spots close to baseline rd. …there are hundreds on the opposite side with entrances everywhere.

Every time my family comes from out of state we have to go to the swap meet. They think it’s the coolest thing ever. And I probably thought so the first few times too, but it’s the same every time you go. Honestly I go for one thing, and sometimes I make it an in and out trip just for this… DIP! I love the different chip dips they offer at a few of the stands. Cheap and yummy and I can’t seem to find them anywhere else on a consistent basis. Usually they are like 5 for $ 20 — well worth it.
Other than the dip, this is a good place to waste some time. It’s pretty hot in the summer, so go early. You can rent scooters if necessary. The food lines here are crazy long, and nothing here I would really recommend eating (shady snack bar with beer).

Great place to shop with mostly reasonable prices when not it’s always good to remember it’s a swap meet so negotiate. We have made some excellent finds in motorcycle gear, accessories and various home décor items and nick knacks. Place is covered from the sun and a lot of the shops are ventilated. They have snack stands strategically placed for refreshments, even beer.

Liked it better than Phoenix swap mart– Maybe it was just because it was new to me:) I grew up in Mesa– Have lived in Phx for years– Was reminded of the snow bird situation, lol. Tons were there. My husband wore his Sooners Jersey so he got to talk to locals about it :) The whole place is covered– crowded– but we liked it.

Very, very cool place to find anything from golf balls to beef jerky to anything you could want to decorate inside and outside your house. They have the typical junk vendors, although not very many. Your best bet is to come early, eat early and leave early. The lines for the bathrooms and for food get very long very quickly and stay that way until about an hour before they close.

Absolutely love this flea/​swap market. Not your typical grungy, dirty, weird marketplace. I have been many times and continue to come back. My 2^nd time around to find a deal on luggage. So many choices for such amazing deals and you can negotiate. Got 4 pieces of Olympia luggage for $ 164 out the door no tax. They have any and every brand of Luggage you would want in any size and color possible. Everytime i go back during winter it seems as though there are many more vendors! So much fun to spend a few hours outside during this time of the year!

When I am in AZ, I have come to a particular place outside of a sports venue. Usually, I am in AZ for a Dodgers vs D’backs Game. During those non-​Dodger Days, I like to travel about 20 minutes east of Phoenix to one of the most authentic swap meets at the Mesa Market Place Swap Meet.
Unlike what I am used to Los Angeles, Mesa Market Place Swap Meet is one of those swap meets that you will want to keep coming back for more. In Los Angeles, I just want to grab what I am looking for and leave. Mesa Market Place has a huge parking lot. I wouldn’t be surprised if Mesa Market would expand another aisle and possibly branch out to do automotive items. It would be something different. Probably do window tints or install aftermarket items.
You will find all sorts of items you would see on eBay and find them here. Whether its cell phone cases, luggages to statutes or cooking demonstration, you will have a lot of fun walking down four aisles. Oh yeah, Mesa Market serves $ 3 Beers! That is a very BIG PLUS! You can walk down the aisles and drink or sit down and listen to some singing. I definitely got some Chicken Tender & Fries after shopping around. You’ll probably get full from getting the freebie trail mixes from the multiple stores that offer them for free.
When you are visiting Phoenix, definitely stop by Mesa Market Place. Not all shopping has to be done at the widely invaded Wal-​Mart or at the mall, but sometimes the swap meet is the cool place to be. I can’t believe my one month supply of trail mixes is almost gone in two days. I have to go back and make sure I buy a year supply for a weeks worth :)
Unilocal! The One Stop Place For Your Everyday Research!

I’ve seen commercials for this place before, and meant to come here sooner, but I finally decided to come in today. I thought, ya know, its nice outside today, I think I’m going to go for a drive!
This place is way far out on the East side of town. I don’t mind the drive since it’s kinda pretty, and it was right off the expressway too. I wasn’t shopping for anything in particular, and went in with an open mind.
There’s a lot of parking here, which is great, but its also easy to forget where you parked like I did. It all kinda looks the same, and there aren’t any markers to remember in the lot like at the mall. I found my car eventually, but not without a lot of wandering around! LOL
Anyways, there’s an enormous amount of stuff for sale here. Clothing, kitchen stuff, knick knacks, wind chimes, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Some of it (okay, a lot of it) is cheesy items, but there are some good finds here. I scored some Avon stuff in a booth, and also saw a few cute things for my garden, but didn’t purchase them since I wanted to get home. There was also an enormous amount of old people here, I guess it’s their thing to do on a Saturday afternoon, so be prepared!
I had an okay time, and wouldn’t mind coming back in the future. The drive wasn’t so bad, but its more the random selection of stuff that they have.
O, and they have a food court here too, but I would rather eat at the resturants on the way in, that’s just me. They even had this old guy belting out some tunes in the food court area, which was pretty neat!

I’m coming out of the flea market closet. I am sort of a fan of these types of things.
As far as flea markets go I like them because they are electic gatherings of things you don’t see in stores all the time. Having said that, 60% of the flea markets I’ve been to I’ve completely hated, felt like it was a waste of my time and energy — but I’ve found just enough items (to buy, or just even to look at) at the 20% that I felt I couldn’t get anywhere else that make me venture into these places.
The Mesa Market is not your average Flea Market. There are some touristy type things, sports memorobilia, games, even a few Cacti growers, and yes some of the booths have junk but it’s fewer and far between. One thing to note is that there are a few booths that seem repetious — and in that the pricing is different and the quality of the product is different. I highly recommend walking the whole thing first before buying what it is you want, making sure you get the quality and price you want. Sometimes you can haggle as well with one, vs the other.
If you have a aversion to flea markets I’d still give this one a try. On the weekends they even have live music and in the middle of the place, a little place to get food if you are so inclined in the circus-​festival food type.
