Dog Boarding & Doggy Daycare

Dogs experience a fun day playing with other size appropriate dogs who have passed our prescreening process. Dogs are supervised, entertained and loved in one of our four playground areas. We are the best dog boarding and doggy daycare in the Phoenix East Valley because of the indoor/​outdoor playgrounds, our live stream webcams so you can check up on your dogs and our overnight staff who do the late night potty break for all overnight boarding dogs.

All dogs must be current on rabies, distemper, Bordetella and spayed/​neutered if over 6 months of age, and be free of flea/​tick and other transferable diseases. All dogs coming for our dog boarding or doggy daycare have successfully passed our prescreening evaluation showing they are a good fit for off-​leash dog-​dog group play, and maintain good standing. The pre-​screening process is like a complimentary half-​day of daycare for your dog.

Puppy Socializing

Prescreened puppies up to one-​year old can play all day Wednesday at the half-​day rate. If you have a high energy puppy and would like them to be tired out when you get home from work, then Puppy Wednesday could be a helpful solution for you!

History

Established in 2014.

Happy Pets Palace & Playground was established to be a place for over-​protective pet parents to bring their furry family members. Several of our clients have never boarded before so the live-​stream webcams help reassure their pups are safe and enjoying themselves at their home away from home.

Managing Member, Linda Huss, formerly owned a dog boarding franchise in Bentonville, AR. Her experience and expertise comes from being a franchisee since 2007 as well a life-​long pet owner and being an over-​protective pet parent to 6 dogs and 9 cats, and a few (15) zebra finches.

After several years working in corporate America, my #1 priority for me now is for Happy Pets Palace & Playground to be the best dog boarding and dog daycare facility that I have ever owned and operated. We do that by attention to detail for the care and comforts provided to the dogs. We focus on safety, cleanliness, staff training, technology, and constant affection to the dogs who visit us. It’s our passion! We love what we do because we love animals. Product development comes easily when I spend every waking moment paying attention to my pets preferences, their likes and dislikes. And these silently spoken requests from my pets is what makes Happy Pets Palace & Playground so wonderful! I’ve paid attention to my pets’ needs and wants and have built those needs/​wants in to our new Happy Pets Palace & Playground facility in Mesa.

Happy Pets Palace is great. My Belgian Malinois just did a second day here and it was great. Lots of play time and fun activity with the other dogs. The staff is great and they really care about all the dogs like they were theirs. Molly gets home and she is tired from all the activity. Definitely a good place to bring your dog if you are working long hours. Convenient hours as well. Highly recommend Happy Pets Palace!!!

I had written an exhaustive review because my dog was banished today for having a scary bark (daycare owner’s words, not mine) but this business isn’t worth that much of my time. I do not like this place, it is a rude and dishonest place. Clean though, but dishonest. I don’t like it. I started off being a great place that we went to for about a year, but we were suddenly banished because my dog barked and exhibited other dog-​like behaviors. My dog is not aggressive, as the owner accused her of being, and my dog is not mean. The owner is easily ruffled.

We recently boarded our female mixed breed dog here for a number of days. We had previously taken her to another kennel for about two years, but needed to find somewhere new because of recent health issues we’d had once she came home from the other place.
Happy Pets Palace absolutely exceeded our expectations! Super clean with an amazingly friendly staff. The owner is often onsite, very accessible, and genuinely interested in providing the dogs she boards the best care possible. We loved the ability to watch our pup on webcams while she was there. Very cool and quite reassuring
If you’re looking for a great place to board your beloved family member, this is an excellent one!

I tried this place out because I was unhappy with my former boarding facility. The interview went well. My dog is quite friendly, but has less than optimal socialization experience. She bonded with the owner, her staff, and the other little dogs quite well. In the former boarding facility my little dog would vomit several times upon arriving home (even though I brought her food with me). This time she was totally happy.
When I dropped her off at this place, it smelled clean and cared for (not true at the other place).
Also, I washed her before bringing her home. The washing facilities and shampoo /​conditioner products are wonderful and have left her coat super soft.
I have recommended this place to all my dog owner friends. I have canceled my Christmas reservations at the other place, and booked my little girl here for the same period.

Pretty unimpressed. They spent the whole «interview» telling us how smart and well trained they were. Then they took my little dog back and sent him into a pen with another dog. When he barked at the other dog, they declared «that’s rude behavior, not happy play» and told us not to come back. Keep in mind, I take this dog several times per week to the leash-​off park to play with other dogs, and he does fine. Could it be these «gurus» just stressed him out a bit by rushing things? Seems likely.
Thanks for wasting my time, folks. You came highly recommended. You failed to live up to your reputation.

This business rejected my dog because he is well behaved on a leash. They said he was anti social because he wasn’t running to play with the other dogs but sat obediently by the employees side. They would not take him off the leash to see his behavior and simply told us they would not accept him.

I just returned from a weeklong vacation. The hardest thing about deciding to vacation wasn’t the destination, it was ‘who will watch the huskies’? I researched kennels and asked questions for months. I found the perfect kennel. Dogs are divided by size and have several large indoor/​outdoor pens where staff plays with them all day. You can watch all the fun on a webcam. The owner, Linda, is at the facility all the time and sent me numerous texts and videos of my huskies playing with other dogs and interacting with staff. When I toured the facility, I was amazed at how clean, fresh smelling and well kept it was. The temperature indoors was very cool and comfortable despite it being well over 100 degrees outside. Outside areas were spacious, clean and covered with large sail shades. There is climbing equipment and small play pools, too. Their private villa where they eat and sleep is large and roomy enough for two big huskies. If you’re looking for a place to leave your dogs where you don’t feel guilty and anxious, Happy Pets Palace and Playground in Mesa was great!

This place doesn’t deserve a star. My dogs, nor I, have never been treated so disrespectfully by anyone before let-​alone a business or a so-​called professional… They should be clear, before you waste your time coming in, that by a 4 hour evaluation, they really mean 5 minutes. They should also be clear that they will only work with dogs that are perfectly trained, and don’t jump because they are excited just to be there. The owner suggested my dog is not trained because she was jumping on me when I walked in out of pure excitement. My opinion is that she is not trained in dealing with different types of dogs or temperaments or she’s just flat out LAZY and doesn’t want to work. After ignoring me when I walked in, she finally acknowledged me by saying, ’ this is going to be a no. Your dog will be too much work’…seriously???
If your dog is old and slow and barely moves, then they are perfect for her. Seriously do your research and rethink your options. If she treated me and my dogs like this in 5 minutes, I’d hate to think how she would treat them if I had left them alone with her. This owner doesn’t deserve to watch my dogs, nor my money and business. I use places purely off referral basis, so does my family and friends. You can be sure they will not be using this place. the owner needs to learn some tact, manners, and simple customer service. She fails in all those areas. My husband called to try and speak to her and right off the bat she was extremely rude and defensive with him. and he’s the nicest guy in the world! Seriously I’m so disgusted with the owners behavior. What a joke! I am new to the area, but both of my dogs have been going to doggy daycare and been boarded for years and we’re loved and adored. Never received a complaint with my dogs.
BTW…a few months ago, i had picked up my brothers dogs from this place. Those dogs were extremely excited to see me and we’re jumping all over me! So much to the point where this same owner helped me take them out to the car. I thought that was cool of her which is why i kept them in mind for my dogs when i needed to take them to doggy daycare. Those dogs were not any less excited than my dog was today when i took her to drop her off… But then my dog isn’t trained and too much work?! Which one is it lady?

My dog absolutely loves to come to Happy Pets. He has a fantastic time and always comes home nice and tuckered out for bed. I enjoy the clean and air conditioned play areas. The boarding facilities are fantastic. Rowdy enjoyed his stay over Thanksgiving weekend. The self-​wash dog bath is a great feature, and is far more affordable than using a groomer. There are free webcams in your PC that allow you to view all of the playground areas any time you want to while they are in their care. There is a mobile app as well, which is free to download, but you must make an in-​app purchase to use the app to view your dogs at play. Over all very happy! I bring Rowdy there once a week, and he loves it! He goes bonkers when he realizes we are in the parking lot, and can hardly wait to get in and see his best four-​legged friends! You can’t do better than Happy Pets!

We had been leaving our (less than one year old) puppy at Happy Pets Palace every other Saturday for about seven months. We also had boarded our dog for a few nights. Everything was great for that time period.
The second to last time we took Duke in we were notified that he had been humping some of the smaller female dogs. (Duke is neutered). We told Linda (the owner) that Duke knows the meaning of the word «no» and that he would respond. Also that we had not seen him exhibit this behavior elsewhere. She said that she would work with Duke in the future to behave better. During this conversation another employee interjected that they see much worse humping from other dogs. Our dog weighs 30 lbs. We left after that visit feeling like Duke had a bad day, but that everything would be fine.
Fast forward two weeks. We are dropping Duke off for his daycare, and Linda informs us that if Duke humps this visit he will be banned. We were blindsided by this news. We feel that the situation had been severely escalated. We expressed these concerns to Linda, and her response was that she was being «transparent». That is comical, seeing that is exactly opposite of what was happening. The dog had one bad day of humping (a common dog behavior) and now we are being threatened with banishment. If Linda can’t figure out how to handle a 30 lb dog, something is amiss. We feel there were plenty of other options to explore before threatening us with banishment.
We feel that maybe this all came about because we don’t spend enough money on daycare and our dog was not worth the effort. Happy Pets did not handle the dog or the owners in this simple situation with any tact. We don’t feel comfortable leaving our pet in their care. It really sucks to put trust in a business then be treated with disregard.

These people are awesome. They take a new, refreshing approach to boarding pets. This is the first place I’ve ever felt happy to leave my pets. Their care for your pet and love for pets in general, comes through immediately. You can watch your dogs on line and they also send video texts throughout the stay. Our dogs had constant human interaction.

Me and my 9 month old boxer Zoey came in today for a tour and temperament test. I was literally BLOWN AWAY with this wonderful facility. I was greeted by the owner who was beyond pleasant and took the time to explain everything to me in great detail. Showing me the certifications of all her employees and went into detail about how much training her employee’s are expected to achieve and the minimum they must have in order to work for her. I was thrilled to watch the video camera of my pooch at play while I was away. You must download an app on your phone and pay for a subscription. No biggie, it’s only $ 5 for a year. I was obsessed with the video feed. There was ALWAYS employee supervision over all areas of the grounds watching all of the animals at play and not one of them were ever not paying attention to the dogs. They are very affectionate with all the dogs. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I can not say enough good about this place. We were extremely pleased. I am over the moon to know that my precious babies are in good – no, EXCELLENT hands here. I also want to emphasize that the owner/​front desk was absolutely amazing with me and my dog. I can rest assured knowing that I can leave my pooches in such loving, caring, compassionate and knowledgeable hands.

This is a nice, clean facility and they take care to group the dogs according to size. The webcam is a nice touch –you download an app and can watch your dog during business hours. The staff seemed attentive and caring. Unfortunately, when I picked my dog up he came down with kennel cough the next day. When I called to ask if they had noticed him coughing, the person in charge told me that her pets had been coughing and sneezing too, and she had taken them to the vet. That disturbed me, because her pets had been in the facility when my dog went for his initial evaluation and his first day of boarding. It took two vet visits to get him better so it turned out to be a rather expensive experience.
In all fairness, it is possible the manager’s pets did not exhibit symptoms when my dog was exposed. Likewise, my dog did not exhibit symptoms until the day after I picked him up. Still, I was going to take him there for daycare but now am reluctant to do so.
