Description

Specialties

We offer the best selection of premium brands and styles – delivering a relevant product assortment that connects with our customers’ dynamic lifestyle. This premium experience, for our consumers, is driven by quality and not price. Our assortment is focused on everyday sport footwear (products that are made for sport but primarily worn for fashion or every day use), but we also carry the best performance and athletic casual footwear in the mall and online. We compliment this best-in-class footwear selection with the right mix of premium apparel and accessories.

History

Established in 1976.

In 1976 three friends wanted to create a store that supported passionate athletes with the greatest styles of footwear.

Runners by hobby, Alan Cohen, David Klapper, and John Domont developed their concept: a store focused on premium athletic footwear in their hometown of Indianapolis. However they soon found out their concept already existed in the form of The Athlete’s Foot (TAF). Rather than start from scratch, the friends bought into that business, purchasing franchise rights for TAF in Indiana and the greater Louisville Kentucky area.

In 1981, with their respective 12 franchises, the trio wanted to continue growing but all TAF franchise rights had been sold. Fortunately, there was no clause in their contracts preventing them from opening a competing concept. So with ambitious hopes and stellar intentions, Finish Line was born.
