I first met Dr. Theodore Haley in the hospital when my PCP introduced him to me as a surgical consult. I was quite resistant to him at first, since he was telling me I would ultimately require surgery for my complicated diverticulitis and I didn’t want to have surgery! But of course he was right, and two months later he operated on me.
Dr. Haley has proven himself to be not just highly knowledgeable and professional, but personable and very kind. His follow up has been phenomenal — he has even impressed my home wound nurse with his level of follow through. She said that most surgeons aren’t that invested. I have had a long recovery due to many complications not related to the surgery, and throughout it all I have always felt that Dr Haley and his staff truly care about my well being.
Speaking of his staff, I can’t end this review without mentioning Laura, Dr Haley’s medical assistant. Laura has been wonderful about submitting paperwork for FMLA and disability, making sure I had painkiller prescriptions in a timely manner, and forcing the skilled nursing facility I was stuck in to order tests that Dr Haley wanted and that they were dragging their feet ordering.
I really can’t recommend Dr Haley and all his staff highly enough. If you require surgery, you can’t do better than Dr. Haley.

I had a consult at the Gilbert location with Dr. Kadakia. He went over my results and my options with detailed descriptions. He answered all questions and concerns I had at that time. Recommend this office for great customer service and personal support.

My wife was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer and we were fortunate enough for her surgeries to be done Dr Haley. Dr Haley is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and professional; other medical professionals (outside of the ASA office) we dealt with also voiced their strong trust and confidence in Dr Haley and his abilities. I could go on about the multiple positive contacts/​visits we had with Dr Haley throughout my wife’s treatment/​care and how he took an extremely strong interest in all aspects of her pre-​and-​post surgery care, suffice it to say we feel extremely fortunate/​blessed that we crossed paths with him as my wife (successfully) dealt with her cancer.
I also would like to commend the back office/​administrative staff at both the Mesa and Gilbert locations, their strong attention to detail ensured that no matter which hospital we went to (sometimes at the last minute), everything was always in order, a rare occurrence these days.

So I have a tendency to procrastinate on things I know are uncomfortable. I have had a huge bulging lipoma on my back right next to my spine. I unexpectedly had a couple days off during the past week so I decided to call the office and see if they could fit me in. The got me in for a consultation Thursday, I met with Dr Kadakia in the Gilbert office, he looked at I and explained that I started a new job Monday and was trying to get it removed while I was off or I may procrastinate on it again.
Well he spoke to the nurse and got me into the hospital the next day. Well Friday came, he removed the lipoma and I was up and on my way. Not a lot a pain even 24hrs later. Dr Kadakia can operate on me any day!

Dr. Kevin Masur and his medical assistant are both misleading, speak non truths and do things just to, as his report to my insurance company stated, PACIFY the patient. His report said that the 2 weeks he recommended as recovery time and wrote a time off work slip was only to pacify me and told the insurance company it was not medically needed even tho I was back in the emergency room 2 weeks later with acute pain from the mishandled gall bladder operation of May 5, 2015.
This dr. (note small letters) is questionable if his mouth is moving. What ever happened to the oath that he took about his medical scruples. Guess he was absent that day from Truth and Honesty class.

I haven’t seen a review for Dr. Haley on here and wanted to give him a shout out and HUGE thank you.
I needed to have my gallbladder removed, the ER initially said it was non-​emergency but that I did have stones, told me to follow up with a surgeon. After deliberation and not wanting any more attacks, I decided to have it removed. Turns out the ER sonogram was inacurrate and my gallbladder was extremely inflamed and more serious than originally thought. Of course, I had no idea as I was blissfully asleep under anesthesia, but I am so thankful for Dr. Haley’s expertise in handling the surprise. He did such an amazing job and was still able to remove it laproscopically.
My healing went great, I was pretty uncomfortable for a few days (to be expected), but I feel amazing right now. Dr. Haley is so kind and knowledgeable, I would recommend him to anyone. The office staff is very nice as well!

Dr. Mark Runfola is absolutely a rock star surgeon! He was recommended by my oncologist after I was diagnosed with melanoma on my thigh, everything went perfectly from the consultation to the surgery and the follow up. When I was at the dermatologist for a regular follow up the Nurse Practitioner and then the Doctor both remarked how perfect the incision scar was– you don’t often hear any medical professional critique another’s work, much less unsolicited.
Dr. Richard Oh from this practice did my previous triple hernia surgery, again without a hitch.
Do your research but absolutely consider this practice and these fine surgeons in particular.

DON’T GO HERE!!! I went to see Dr. Carrie Cashman, after finding a lump in my breast. I had already had a hand test and ultrasound at other places. I had my appointment and was told NOTHING that I didn’t already know, after waiting almost 2 hours to see the doctor and I arrived early. She made a guess at what she thought it was and gave me my options, biopsy, surgery if it’s cancerous etc. Already was told that but ok. I asked for the prices of removal which she then proceeded to give me phone numbers and told me to call them and ask, really they can’t even call for me? But ok, let it go. Finally I go to pay, told them I didn’t have insurance and would be paying out of pocket, she told me it was 130, I paid and left, nothing else was said. It’s been a month and I just got a bill in the mail for 115 dollars from them! They did not once say the appointment was 243 and they’d be splitting it up or absolutely anything of the sort! They are literally trying to steal my money and have done absolutely nothing! If I could give them 0 stars I would. I will not be having my surgery done through this business.

I highly recommend Dr. Lawrence Damone at this surgery group. I had 2 hernias repaird and was totally satisfied with their professionalism and patient care.

This office was recommended by my primary care doctor. The office was well run with hardly any wait time. Dr. Oh was personable and thorough in my pre-​op evaluation. It’s been a month since my surgery and I’m recovering just fine. There are a lot of doctors in this office. My experience with Dr. Oh was a positive one.

Completely terrible experience with Dr. Runfola.

I had my gall bladder removed in 2012 by DR Jennifer Reitz who is out of their Gilbert office. She did a great job with that surgery and in the process found a hernia that needed to be taken care of. Moving forward to Oct of 2013 I find out that I need a hysterectomy I wanted to hernia done at the same time so I would only need to recover from surgery once. She agreed to the surgery and was great until it was determined my wound was not healing. She went back in and cleaned it up – but did not address a seroma that was under to mesh she had placed. I have this mesh with an infection under it that she places a wound vac on and cannot figure out why I am in so much pain. The end result was my demanding the wound vac be removed. Then DR Reitz in cohoots with Amy from Cozy Home Care decided I was suicidal and that something needed to be done with the wound. She called me and told me to come to Mercy Gilbert where I was to be a direct admit. Come to find out she did not have the authority to do this and I ended up going through the ER where she handed me to a group of animals who physically assaulted me and then I was thrown against my will on a psych hold. Had all of my personal belongings taken away including my underwear. She responds with a «I didn’t mean to do that» Problem is the damage is done. Do not trust this woman… she is lazy or was too lazy to do a cat scan to find the darn inection.

I recently had to have surgery and I chose this place because of a strong recommendation for Dr. Buckmire. And I have to say, he was wonderful. He explained everything to me so I completely understood, and was kind and attentive. His staff are all wonderful too. I highly recommend him and this office.

I saw Dr. Keeling-​Johnson and was very impressed with all aspects of my care. The whole facility seemed well run and worth trusting with my health.
