History

Established in 1993.

Pay Day Payroll was started by Penelope Oulds in 1993 when she was eight months pregnant with her first child and found herself unemployed due to her employer going out of business. She felt this was the perfect time to start her own company. Many of Pay Day’s clients have been on board for over 15 years. Since joining the Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce business has doubled.

Penelope grew up in many parts of Berks County but finally settled down with husband Mark in Mertztown, PA where they found the house the dreamed of. They have raised two children there and continue to take on home improvement projects.
