Located in the Pennichuck Square, Huckleberry’s Café serves up breakfast and lunch daily from 7AM-3PM. The atmosphere inside is quaint, very classic looking and parlor like. They have a takeout counter and a full service dining room to the right, the wall is decorated with lots of framed classic pictures and art. They offer fresh baked goods, breakfast dishes, sandwiches, salads, soups, homemade chips, kids corner menu(12& under), sides, full line of coffee, espresso, & tea drinks, Shain’s of Maine Ice Cream(6 flavors) treats. I had lunch here yesterday and sat myself at a booth. The waitress was waiting on tables and running the counter solo on a Monday afternoon, but the place wasn’t that busy. I started out with Coffee($ 1.59) served in a glass mug, which was good, not too strong or weak. For lunch, I ordered the Killer Tomato Sandwich($ 6.99) which was decent and combined the tastes of breakfast and lunch. The sandwich had sliced tomatoes, egg whites, lettuce, roasted red peppers, feta cheese on toasted multi grain bread with hummus, though not very much spread on the bread. The sandwich was supposed to come with Steak Fries, but were missing. The waitress went back to the kitchen and the Steak Fries were out in 5 minutes. The Steak Fries were fresh out of the fryer and really good! I was offered a refill on the Coffee, which I definitely needed. I used a 10 percent off coupon and the lunch was $ 10 with tax and tip, not bad! Overall, I had a decent lunch with decent service in a very laid back and relaxed atmosphere.
