There’s a lot good pizza joints around the Island, hey there must be 5 I pass to get to Tomato & Basil! The pizza is the best ! My husband and I love it as do friends when we have them over. I love their Grandma Slice, the corner just doesn’t get any better. Their sauce is the best. I also love their Baked Ziti, just enough of both cheeses in it. The Staff is Always friendly on the phone and in person. Been coming here over 10 years now and they are Always consistent. Hey, give it a try you won’t be sorry.

I’ve been here a number of times and was pleased to see they redid their booths more recently! I highly recommend their Margarita pie with fresh mozzarella and basil. They also make a nice whole wheat pizza crust. I also tried their mushroom slice which was very good– mushrooms are big pieces, chunky with a little it of oil. Their plain slice is also good. Their staff is polite. If I could, I’d give this place a 3.5 stars.

I usually always order pizza from here & it’s usually pretty good. It’s right around the corner from me so super convenient. Unfortunately The last time I ordered a large pie for pick up, it came out under cooked. It just ruined my dinner. We had wine & everything ready to go & after waiting the normal 20min for the pizza, now I had to put the pizza in my oven for another 20min to melt the cheese completely & cook the dough thoroughly. Stinks when you’re starving. Total let down… so I’ll shop around for a new place.

Great people, delicious pizza, and yummy salads! I love this place! This is my go to place, whether in the area or not. Great selection of pies for slices, too!

This place puts less cheese on their pizza than any other pizza restaurant I have ever been to in my life. Literally. They should receive an award for the least cheese ever on what was supposed to be a cheese pizza. In order to receive what would be considered an average amount of cheese at any other restaurant, then at this place you must ask for«extra cheese» and pay an additional cost for the«extra cheese»(which actually just makes the pizza normal). In addition, this place is also more expensive than other pizza places, even though I’ve been to many other places that have better tasting and cheesier pizza. As for the taste of their pizza here, it’s ok. It’s not bad(except for the lack of a normal amount of cheese), but I’ve had better pizza elsewhere(though I’ve had worse too — just not a lot worse). In addition, this place puts an enormous amount of basil on their pizzas. Not only do they use more basil than average, they also don’t cut up the basil or mix it in very well, and as a result, you will find large enormous whole entire leaves of uncut-up basil in your pizza(I’m being very serious). I don’t mind it, but I have friends that hate it. I will give them credit for this though, they do make a very good chopped salad with mozzarella. Though, you’ll probably need to eat it with a spoon because it’s so finely chopped(I actually like that part).

July 18, 2015 I came here with my godmother for lunch. I had the eggplant parm slice and she had a mushroom slice. My slice was okay. Nothing outstanding but not terrible either. My godmother said her pizza was too oily. The atmosphere of the restaurant was alright too. Didn’t look very dirty but I wouldn’t call it extremely clean either. They had giant cupcakes, I would have liked to have given them a try but I didn’t so maybe if I come back in the future. Not a bad pizza joint.

Tomato & Basil always a pleasant treat when I am in the area. Today I had regular sliced pizza. The other was fresh mozzarella & tomato. Both were hot and piping fresh. I could taste the fresh basil and the mozzarella just melts in your mouth. You will find this pizza placed nestled in the stripped mall. Prizes very reasonable.

Great local place. Sausage & Pepper slice is awesome. Great chopped salads, we add grilled chicken, craisins, roasted peppers and candied nuts. Always get extra house dressing. A plus that the owner is a local guy and super nice. Highly recommend.

Tomato and Basil is a solid neighborhood pizzeria for a regular or specialty slice. The quality is always consistent. The pizzeria is in the Merrick Road Shopping Center in Merrick, so parking is always abundant. T&B used to make a really good broccoli rabe specialty pie. I’m not sure if it’s still available; if it is available, then I recommend giving it a try.

Wings were good and pizza was good… But everything would’ve been so much better if the delivery weren’t cold. For $ 25 I shouldn’t have to reheat it up myself.

Pepperoni slice, with the thick crust, or the chicken bacon ranch! My god! It’s really just high quality food and they give plenty of toppings! Long story short, get to tomato and basil asap!

We ordered a regular pie for delivery. I have to say, this was probably the best tasting pizza I’ve had in the area. The crust was nice and thin, but what really made it stand out was the tomato sauce. A sweet, generous layer of bright red sauce slathered on each slice with just the right amount of cheese. Simple but as close to NY style as it gets. Definitely will be ordering from here again!

We had a group that needed a quick dinner between events. We stopped into Tomato & Basil Pizzeria and were very pleased. The service was quick and helpful. The food was what you would expect from a Long Island pizzeria — which is to say very good.

Ordered delivery tonight. Was in the mood for Chicago style and they had it in the menu. The picture on their website showed a DEEP dish with cheese on the bottom and sauce on top. When it came it was nothing more than a neopolitan pie with a little thicker crust. Not regular and not sicilian somewhere in between. Now it was tasty but don’t advertise something on your site and send different. false advertising. Might try them again. This was a disappointment

I stopped by this small place for lunch with about 10 or so of my friends today after a walk at the nearby Norman Levy Park. I had the best Buffalo Chicken salad I have ever tasted. This(large size) salad came on a huge plate of the freshest mesclun greens, chopped tomato & cucumber, and a generous container of vinaigrette dressing. The equally generous amount of buffalo chicken was not the deep fried, greasy, breaded kind with drizzled hot sauce that I’ve had at other places. This chicken was perfectly prepared and non-greasy, seasoned with just enough«heat.» Some friends were surprised that I ate the whole salad in one sitting. One friend had a mushroom slice that had the largest pieces of mushrooms I have ever seen on one slice. The ambiance is just ok. But what do you want? It’s a pizzeria. Just a few 4-seater tables and some comfy-looking booths up front.

So my sister and I throw a huge Halloween bash every year, typically 25 – 30 people. As the years pass, we want to do as little prep as possible. The frozen apps get annoying and people always are hungrier than just that. So this year I had a recommendation to order food from tomato and basil. I was told about their $ 200 coupon on their site. Now $ 200 sounds like a lot. However, here is what we got: 2 half trays penne ala vodka ½ tray chicken parm(could also choose chicken marsala) ½ tray sausage and peppers ½ tray eggplant parm ½ tray meatballs(could also choose wings) Garlic knots Italian bread Now, not only did we get all this food, but it was freaking delicious. We typically order from the merrick woods area but we have now decided that Tomato and Basils food takes the cake. Not to mention, they were extremely friendly and convenient. Free delivery. And we didn’t even give them 24hrs notice for the order. Very impressed, very delicious, will definitely do it again!

I would have given five stars because i Love this place everything is delicious, this is one of the better places for pizza pasta on Long Island UNTIL now .It’s Sunday night 20 minutes to closing i call up for a pie and they tell me they stopped delivering?! that is UNACCEPTABLE! I worked at a ery good pizza place for many years and we delivered five minutes until closing always so this came as a shock, Very annoyed this is a bad practice and it better change soon or else they will lose a customer, a very good customer and I hope damn well they are reading this!

Really? I’m astound of how many 5 stars. The way it looks doesn’t mean it will taste as good as it looks(I think I wrote that before). You know in McDonald commercials and pictures the Bun and Pattie are coated with Turpentine… LiL fact from the champ naturally. Its standard pizza… Not much in the flavor department but I did taste a hint of BaSiL!!! get it? Tomato&Basil? anyone. u all suck.

I was SOHUNGRY yesterday. Like, anyone that made the mistake of texting, emailing, BBMing me, facebooking me… anything…got to ride the complain train with me for a few minutes while I whimpered about my poor stomach being forced to eat itself(whats that you say, I could have just had a snack from my kitchen? how dare you) My friend grew incredibly tired of my incessant complaining and figured the only way to shut me up was to put me in a food coma. and it WORKED. I put down a rice ball, half a chicken parm hero AND two white slices. It was most likely one of the greatest white slices I’ve ever had. I never realized how much I loved white pizza until a few years ago, and since then have been a queist to find the greatest slice. boom, done. There was a delightful amount of ricotta, without being heavy and nast-tastic. The chicken cutlets in the hero were thin, and they had this great crust. I even liked the sauce and I’m usually annoying about sauce. Seriously — annoying, I know, hard to believe. the rice balls were great — I haven’t had a rice ball in such a long time and I was glad I mentioned them the other day. I’m also glad that my friend listens to me and remembered. So, will I come back here? You bet your sweet ass I will. Yum.
