I had a craving for one of those delightful cherry dipped cones, so while i was heading home from work i swung by and picked up one. Every Carvel has that same weird smell the minute you walk in the door. Like sugar bleach or something. However i got my cone, i paid my 3.25 and i loved every damn calorie of it. Even though it was Wed and buy one get one free my fat ass didn’t need the extra one so i just had a cone. Did the job even though Dilly bars are way better.

Long, long ago in a strip mall not too far away… their was a time before frozen yogurt. A time when Carvel Ice Cream ruled the land. An ice cream shop filled with cold treats to eat on a warm summer day. Fast forward twenty years and its still the same sh*t. Nothing has changed. The soft serve Vanilla Cone is the same as it always was. The cookie puss is the same. Grab a case of Flying Saucers on the way out. None of the Carvels are really that clean so make sure you wash up when ya get home as tons of kids pop in and out. I grew up eating at the Deer Park Ave., Deer Park location but this one in the Merrick Mall Shopping Center is nearly identical. Each visit is like a trip back to my youth and it feels, and tastes great.
