I have only gone here for the«concrete» ice cream which is very tasty. I have heard from people that the burgers aren’t worth trying, so I haven’t even tried. I would say the«concrete» is better than a DQ blizzard. They have a lot of flavor choices, such as cookie dough, mint, etc. It’s a fast food style chain. The establishment is clean and service is decent. The seating is decent as well. They announce your number on the intercom which can be difficult to hear because they don’t stop the music in the background, so you have to pay attention. If you’re wanting a good dessert location, this is definitely a place to add to your list.

Food was good, but you can tell they have poor management. The place is filthy and the floors are full of grease and slippery. I even saw 2 toddlers behind the counter and in the kitchen. Looking forward to Boise getting one because this place was awesome when it first opened. We won’t go back to the Meridian location.

Hubby and me were looking for lunch after clothes shopping for him. Truthfully, we were looking for Habit. but I’m telling you the GPS directions for that place are horribly messed up. As it turns out it was rather intriguing that those directions put us close to Freddy’s so we stopped in. It was noon, so the place was hopping. The noise level when we walked in the door was horrific-and since the restaurant has the ‘open ceiling warehouse feel’ similar to Five Guys, that was no surprise. We waited in line, looking about to see if we had even a prayer of getting a table– but it didn’t seem in the cards by the time we got to the front counter so we placed our order to go. The young man behind the counter was friendly. Since the place was so busy I didn’t take as much time as I normally would on a first encounter with a restaurant, but the patty melt caught my eye. Hubby, being a burger freak, went with his standard double cheeseburger, but DID opt for bacon. We made them combo meals. Paid, then stepped aside to wait for our number to be called. It’s a different kind of set up at Freddy’s.you order at one counter, and pick up at a counter rather off to the side. Luck was with us, as a couple was just vacating a booth– so hubby planted himself there, and I went to the beverage bar to get our drinks. Now, overall I’m a fan of the self serve beverage bar, but I have to say that during a busy lunch rush on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, I was a bit annoyed as other patrons were sending their young children to fetch their own drinks. I’d much have preferred for my drinks to have initially be filled when we placed our order, but oh well. Another truth. the Unilocal reviews I’d read didn’t have me frothing at the mouth to even try Freddy’s– my husband being a bit particular about burgers means I tend to avoid places that have been opined about as kind of ‘Meh’. because of that– but when our food arrived and I opened up that patty melt of mine… all my worries went bye bye. I KNEW the patties at Freddy’s were going to be different, but I didn’t realize how different. My first bite of that freshly grilled well seasoned STEAK burger almost had angels singing inside my head. I knew the fries were going to be of the shoestring variety– a cut that can go horribly wrong if they are overcooked. I can’t say they were the best fries I’ve ever had. but they were fresh and hot and very well cooked. When I checked our Freddy’s special seasoning blend I was immediately struck by how similar is to Red Robin’s special seasoning. I also didn’t find the fry sauce to be particularly great, but your mileage may vary. Hubby on the other hand was not as thrilled with his bacon double cheeseburger. I had a bite and thought it was divine, but his taste buds rated it as too salty.(It may have been, I’m a known salt junkie). As busy as the restaurant was, I have to say that we DID feel a bit rushed. but not by the establishment. more so by manners and knowing that others were waiting for tables. We opted not to try the frozen custard this time around, planning to go back and do so some other time. This is why my rating is only three stars. I’m leaving room to be wowed by a frozen delight in the future. I would go back to Freddy’s again. I want to try their hot dogs and their onion rings, as well as the frozen yogurt. In THIS instance I’m rather glad the funky GPS lead me away from the place I was seeking, and I’m reminded once again NOT to prejudge a place by it’s reviews. That was MYBAD. Over all. LOCATION decent, with access from both sides of Eagle Road. ATMOSPHERE: 50’s kitsch, a bit loud due to open ceiling. SERVICE: Friendly. FOOD: Tasty Go check it out.

Greasy food, not very good taste for burgers and fries. I wouldn’t recommend going there. Didn’t try the dessert. Atmosphere was kinda loud and crammed. Maybe better for drive through snacks.

Yes, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting In n Out, 5 Guys regular, Boise Fry Company fan. So what do I think of Freddy’s? Their steak burgers beat In n Out’s tiny dry bun burgers, animal style or not, hands down. Get the California burger with all the fixings, trust me(-;

I had a great protein burger wrapped in lettuce. I originally tried this place when it first opened and I got a double cheeseburger and barely tasted any meat. I didn’t know you could order additional beef patties so if you like meat in your burgers, order 1 or 2+ extra patties(as many as you want for $ 1 more a patty) so it will taste like a hamburger. My protein burger was one of the best I have had out of the other restaurants in town. Freddy’s was familiar with my request and it was extremely delicious. I will definitely go back.

Love Freddy’s. We had this back home in Kansas and it’s so yummy! Really satisfied the burger and fries craving. And their pumpkin custard is so good! The only reason I have to dock one star is because they don’t have enough booths to sit in at the restaurant.

Pretty good burger joint! My band and I went to Boise, Idaho, and decided to try out Freddy’s because it was recommended to us. We were pleasantly surprised! They had friendly service and were patient with us as we fumbled over the menues. I had the vanilla custard with mixed strawberries. I ordered a small but it was still a pretty large sized portion. Their shoe string fries are good too, filling. Fry sauce was tasty, too! If you have ever tried In N’ Out before, this is sort of like that, but better and with a larger menu. :)

This is the second time coming to this place and everything was great. The California style double burger is recommended. They give you a generous portion of fries and also custard at the end. The inside is very 50s but it seems clean and the staff was nice. For 2 adult meals and a kids meal it was around $ 20.

I first went to freddies back in Florida right when they opened so I was happy to hear that there was one in boise when I moved back. have been visited here a couple times already and each time the food is top notch and service is fast and freindly. Everything u would come to expect. I would say this is the best fast food burger in town hands down. And don’t forget to try there custard we were lucky to get a free one and now we order one everythime. very well rounded meal.

I like custard. That is where this restaurant starts with its name. I like their desserts, but they are rich. A good treat. I’d rate the dessert menu 5 stars, easily. Next, comes the«steakburgers» side. I was not impressed. Over cooked, thin, just not that good. I would never come here just for burgers. There are too many other great burger places around. I’d put the burgers in the 2 star category. Finally, comes the fries. I love their fries. They are good, and the seasoned salt for them works quite well. They definitely raise things up, in the main course category. I’d rate them 4 stars. Over-all, I’ll give it 4 stars. Want some ice cream/custard? Worth a 5 star. Want a fast food burger? I’d recommend going elsewhere.

Every once in a while I run into one of those places that for whatever reason the masses seem to enjoy but I just don’t see what they’re seeing. Freddy’s is one is those places for me. I stopped here with relatively high hopes and left thinking, I don’t get the hype. I found my chicken sandwich to be sadly bland(thankfully they have seasoning salt, use as much as you need), half of my fries were un-dippably tiny(which was too bad because their fry sauce was pretty decent), and the custard to be ho-hum/A-OK(I got nothing to add here). Meh!

Freddy’s didn’t strike a chord with me, but it may with you. The atmosphere is all fun 50’s diner fabulousness. They play fun 50’s tunes, the tables are all retro red and chrome cool. It’s also sparkling clean(something I very much appreciate). I ordered a single cheeseburger meal, which you have to kind of search for on the menu as all the featured, pictured combos are doubles. Here’s the thing you need to know, their patties are paper thin(really and truly very thin, my people). The cashier explained this to me as I was ordering a single and he wanted to make sure I wouldn’t be disappointed. I’m not overly carnivorous(can one be «overly» carnivorous?) and so a thin patty was fine by me. But, you should note, that if you’re ordering a double? It’s going to be much closer to the amount of meat on a typical burger joint’s single. If you like something a little meatier, I’d go for the triple. The burger was fine. It didn’t rock my socks but it was by no means bad. The fries are shoestring, which is my least favorite style of fry. So, overall the meal was little ho-hum for me. The service is lightening quick and the cashier was friendly and informative. Definitely, a good place to hit if you’re pressed on time. They’ll get you in, out, amply fed in no time. And, they’ll be friendly to boot. For dessert, I ordered their a chocolate and peanut butter concrete(frozen custard concoction akin to a thick milkshake – so thick, you definitely must use a spoon), which was ok. It was chocolatey but there were only a couple of bites that I could even taste the peanut butter(sad!). My dining companion ordered signature Chocolate Brownie Delight Concrete and found it so overly sweet, he couldn’t eat it. Overall for me? A swing and a miss.

The hype for this restaurant didn’t live up to expectations unfortunately. The location is okay, hard to get too going north bound, but it’s workable. Food is extremely pricy for what you’re getting. The burgers are small and left me hungry. I even was confused because I ordered a double but it looked like a single. Went to the counter and was informed that both patties were there. Couldn’t believe what I though was a small McDonald’s patty was 2 patties here. Ordered a frozen custard and didn’t finish. Was too sweet for me. A bit disappointed. Won’t return for awhile.

Finally got the chance to check out Freddy’s this weekend with the family. I’m not a huge fan of fast food burgers but Freddy’s was great! I had a regular cheeseburger combo and loved their fries. My daughter had a grilled cheese with onion rings and I stole one bite of my niece’s chocolate custard There food and service was exceptional and the prices are lower than Five Guys. We will definitely be going back!

Can’t find anything wrong with this place! Drive thru was packed with the line out into the parking lot! Every table was filled with a fast moving line inside! With that said I was SHOCKED how fast our order was completed! Awesome staff, went the extra mile and brought our food to us out on the patio! Everyone devoured their burgers! Brownie custard sundae was delicious, will order again! My mom was also impressed with the Turtle Sundae she ordered! Good quality all around! Will be back :)

Do we really need another burger place in Meridian? How many is there? McDonalds, five guys, Smashburger, Carl’s jr, Sonic, jack in the box, Arctic Circle, Wendy’s, main street burger, Boise fry co, and I’m sure I missed a few! So how could this place bring anything different and unique to an already saturated burger town like Meridian? Well I’m telling you that they have done just that! It’s different and unique! And I will tell you that we really enjoyed our lunch! Loved the double steak burger! It was delicious and much different than any other burger place in town! The frys and seasoning were very good as well. The menu and restaurant has a wide variety of options that makes it super family friendly! The place has a colorful and fun décor! Custard? What is custard? All I can tell you is its like ice cream but only better and creamer! A must try if your like me and have never had it! So good! Only down side to Freddy’s is the location and parking is a bit off. But don’t let that keep you away from a truly great and taste burger! :)
