Little Acorn Day School offers an excellent play-based preschool program with a highly enriching, individualized curriculum. Our curriculum follows a rich tradition of early childhood models and practices and believes in incorporating the very best aspects of those influences, which include but are not limited to: Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences, The Hundred Languages of Children (world renowned Reggio Emilia early childhood model), Jean Piaget, Eric Erickson, and Lev Vygotsky’s developmental psychology theories, some ideas of Maria Montessori, and treasures the Director & teachers have discovered over years of teaching.

Tiana T.
Business Owner
Tiana Traylor, Owner, Executive Director, and Team Preschool Teacher, holds a Master’s Degree in Human Development, with a specialization in Leadership in Education, and an AAS Degree in Early Childhood Education. Tiana has two children, born in 1979 and 1982, and has been teaching preschool since 1985. Before coming to Little Acorn, Tiana taught cooperative and private preschools in Seattle. For over 12 years, Tiana has presented Music & Movement and Creative Curriculum workshops for teachers, at early childhood conferences all over Washington State. She was also trained in professional art instruction for children, at the Neo Art School in Seattle. Tiana’s other interests include spiritual study, camping, hiking, traveling, reading, writing, playing guitar, flute, piano, ukulele and song writing. She has published two CD’s of all original children’s songs, one of which won a Parent’s Choice Award; now available on CDBaby.com.
